My partner and I stayed at Holualoa Inn for our honeymoon, and it truly exceeded all our expectations. From the moment we arrived, we felt completely at peace and welcomed. The inn itself is nestled in a stunning location, surrounded by lush greenery and panoramic views of the ocean—it felt like a private paradise.||||Our room was beautifully designed with attention to every detail, blending luxury with a cozy island charm. We especially loved the huge windows that let in so much natural light and allowed us to wake up to breathtaking views every morning. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and the little touches like fresh flowers and local coffee made us feel spoiled.||||The property is absolutely gorgeous. We spent our days exploring the gardens, lounging by the pool, and soaking in the hot tub at sunset. There’s a sense of serenity everywhere you go. The breakfast each morning was incredible—everything was fresh, local, and prepared with care and with the worlds famous KONA coffee!||||The staff were kind, attentive, and went out of their way to make our stay special. They gave us wonderful recommendations for nearby beaches and restaurants.||||Holualoa Inn was the perfect balance of relaxation and adventure. Its location made it easy to explore Kona and the Big Island, but we honestly loved coming back to the peace and quiet of the inn at the end of the day.

We had the pleasure of getting married here this Fall and the estate was truly something out of a dream. This was one of the few venues we toured where the venue looked even better than the photos. All of our guests were raving about how beautiful the property was, especially with the spectacular sunset during our ceremony. Our family stayed at the inn throughout the wedding and they were very comfortable and happy. Audrey and her team are so friendly and always prompt, always making sure our rooms were clean and any needs were met. If you are thinking of booking Holualoa Inn for your wedding, DO IT!!!!

Holualoa Inn is truly a slice of paradise. The views are simply breathtaking—overlooking the Kona coastline with stunning sunsets and lush, vibrant gardens all around. It’s the kind of place where you can just sit and soak in the beauty for hours.||||But what really made our stay special were the people. The staff were amazing—so kind, welcoming, and attentive. They made us feel completely at home and went above and beyond to ensure our experience was perfect.||||The inn itself is beautiful and peaceful, with lovely, well-appointed rooms and thoughtful touches everywhere. If you’re looking for a place to relax, recharge, and feel genuinely cared for, Holualoa Inn is the perfect choice. Can’t wait to return!||||Coming back next year;-)

This location is absolutely beautiful! The entire experience was excellent! We were greeted personally upon arrival and received a cold lemonade and were immediately given a tour of the location! The room was perfect! The breakfasts were delicious and plentiful! And, with the never empty cups of Kona coffee, what more can you ask for (grown on property, too!)! The staff and everyone we met during our stay were friendly and eager to assist! Fresh cookies every afternoon! The room was very comfortable with an awesome view of the Pacific and sunset! This is a relaxing B&B with excellent facilities and the grounds must be explored! You can spend hours on the grounds taking in the coffee trees, the art work and the plants! BTW, there is one single star review of this resort - ignore it! Not sure what that person found wrong with this B&B, but we experienced the complete opposite of everything that person wrote (lied) about!

We spent four wonderful nights at Holualoa Inn. The property is beautiful and pristine. It was very relaxing and peaceful. The staff is phenomenal and attentive. The breakfasts were delicious and the chef was able to accomodate my husband's food allergy. We had a hard time leaving the property. It was one of the best vacations we've been on. I highly recommend this property if you are visiting Kona.

This was one of the nicest places I've ever stayed. It was a beautiful setting with warm and friendly innkeepers and wonderful breakfast and afternoon treats. They thought of everything to make our stay wonderful - from beach chairs and towels for our outings to tranquil gardens when we felt like staying in.

Zoe and I hosted our wedding a week ago on this gorgeous campus. The views were spectacular and service was incredible. Kat did a fantastic job with my planner Sunhee. Thank you all for this amazing experience and we really love red barn and all trees with coffee berry, longan, orange and avocados around it. And we will never forget the monkey pod tree and our sweet wedding underneath. Last but not the least, the breakfast was wonderful!

Holualoa Inn is amazing! We held a morning after brunch at the Inn for all of our wedding guests. Lush tropical gardens envelope the property which is absolutely stunning. A beautiful sculpture garden and an AMAZING event space with incredible views make the Holualoa Inn the perfect spot for any celebration. Audrey was our event manager and absolutely fantastic to work with while we planned everything. The entire staff was so warm and welcoming to us. They were very accommodating and we were thrilled we were able to host our guests for brunch. Everyone had an amazing time and could not get over how beautiful it was. We definitely recommend the Holualoa Inn for any event you might be planning. We didn't stay on the property, but if our event planning is any indication we can only assume the guest experience at the Inn would be wonderful!

Yelp
This was our most relaxing comfortable getaway ever. The property is beautiful old classic Hawaii. The landscape is manicured and filled with fruit and coffee trees. The staff are discreet and very friendly. Every morning is greeted with fresh coffee and a delicious breakfast that always starts with a fresh fruit plate harvested onsite. Did I mention the view of the Kona coast and sunsets?

Yelp
Great new place in the charming town of Holualoa! This has everything atmosphere, excellent food and wonderful service! The menu is small but said they gain items to their menu. The staff was all so friendly. The garden area was so elegant and charming. Cannot wait to go back!

Yelp
This review is for a recent wedding experience. Not specifically about the Inn itself since I didn't stay over. I'm a wedding planner here on Oahu. I've done a handful of inter-island weddings for clients but I'm in no way an expert of the Big Island. This very special couple of mine were not only friends of mine but also other wedding industry vendors. I was thrilled to be asked to help on such an important day of theirs. Planning a wedding from another island can be daunting. Not knowing your vendors and having to trust strictly on social media and just a few recommendations is scary! Luckily, my clients were able to fly up a couple of times before their wedding to check out this venue before making any final decisions. Let me just say, their pictures don't do this place justice. From the very beginning, communication with, Linda at the Inn was great. Any questions they had or myself, she would answer quite fast. As a planner, I greatly appreciate this! Things on the Big Island is much more chillaxed than on Oahu, which I was happy about. Hahha. As soon as the couple was able to checkin, I immediately came to the venue to check it out. Brought my team with me so we could figure logistics on wedding day. Thankfully, we were able to do majority of the setup the day before. All the rental items came in and set. So on wedding day, all we had to do were drop linens, do all the pretty little details and pray for no rain! Thankfully, absolutely no rain on their wedding day! However, because it did rain the day before and you could tell the clouds were heavy, it was an extremely humid day. So here's my one minus star... humid day and absolutely no air condition in sight! It would've been very nice and helpful to have some kind of cooling unit in the bridal suite. As any wedding planner or hair/makeup person knows, humidity is not your friend. Curls don't hold as long and everyone is shiny. Not a good look in front of the camera. Another thing is the main Inn part is quite a distance from the venue part. It's a steep hill, so I wouldn't recommend putting your elders down there. But, there are a handful of little cottages throughout the upper and mid part of the property that you can rent. They have a beautiful piece of lawn with an ocean view. An attached pavilion with restrooms and a kitchen for the caterers is all there. My clients bought and installed bistro lights and left it there for the inn to use for future events.

Yelp
This review is for Audrey and the Holualoa Inn Event Sales staff. My fiance and I were looking for wedding venues on Big Island and came across Holualoa Inn online and were struck by the beautiful photos. We reached out about potentially booking the hotel as a wedding venue, and the events team (Audrey!) was so helpful and responsive. They offered a virtual tour and it was clear the photos were accurate! What a stunning property. We did end up booking a different venue for our wedding because the weekend we needed was booked up by the time we decided on our date, but I still wanted to give a shout out to Audrey and the Sales staff. Very kind, enthusiastic, and quick to respond and follow up. They also connected us to our wedding planner who is amazing, so they clearly have connections with great vendors! We look forward to staying there someday in the future!

Yelp
I recently came here for a wedding. The venue was beautiful. It's located on a hillside that has an ocean view. The sunsets are pretty nice from that view. The wedding I attended was really nice. The view was beautiful and the weather was great. It was pretty big and accommodated the 100 guests pretty easily. This is a really nice venue to use if you need a big party for a wedding or something like that.

Yelp
It's almost one-year to the day that my husband and I arrived at Holualoa Inn for our honeymoon and I'm realizing that I never left a review. This place was absolutely dreamy and the staff was so kind. We stayed in the cottage and really loved the privacy it offered. We had our own spacious lanai to watch the sunrise each morning. Breakfast was delicious and fresh. They made special accommodations for us vegetarians which I greatly appreciated. Coffee was so good and the view from the dining table was breathtaking. As far as location, you're definitely a little off the beaten path which is what we wanted. There are some small shops and restaurants to walk to, but for the most part you'll probably be hopping in your car to head to the beach and busier parts of the island. Hawaii is meant to be explored, no matter what inn or hotel you decide to make your home base. But Holualoa Inn is truly magical and I'll never forget my time there.

Yelp
We were INN love with this place! This was our first time staying at a bed and breakfast. You will feel zen upon your arrival here. The estate is large and beautiful and located on the hills. Great views and amenities. Staff was very warm and welcoming. Coffee, amenities (especially washer and dryer), food were great. Would highly recommend! We are coming back here again when we visit the big island!

Sherry Z.

Yelp
Don't book the cottage room. We paid around $666 per night, but the room itself is totally not worth it. The bathroom is super tiny (maybe that's why you don't find the picture of the bathroom for this unit). There is just one really small walk In shower and a tiny sink with no countertop to put all my toiletries. The decorations are absolutely not to par for a 5 star hotel. Don't recommend! For this price, we can totally stay at Mauna Lani.

Alyssa M.

Yelp
I can't rave about this place enough. What a stunning property, and the staff are so friendly and helpful. The breakfasts each morning far exceeded anything you could get elsewhere, and the coffee is unreal. Hats off to he chef, Donald! The entire Inn is immaculate, super comfortable, (those sheets!) and relaxing. We stayed here during our elopement and had reserved the Darryl Hill Cottage. The cottage itself is quite large, full of amenities, and the lanai has a wonderful view overlooking the grounds and out to the ocean. Not quite the same view you get from the main Inn (which is SPECTACULAR) but still one of the best that we found on the island. The only warning is you are up on the mountains with lots of wildlife, so the frogs and birds can get a little noisy. They supply ear plugs and if you close the windows and doors it drowns almost all the noise out. We actually started to find it comforting after a couple of nights, like a noise machine. We split our time on the island between this Inn and the Hilton Waikoloa Village, and I promise I would only ever go back to one of those locations. If you are considering one of the large extravagant resorts- reconsider. This is where you want to be.

Yelp
This Inn is the most stunning, gorgeous, lovely place we have ever stayed. Impeccably decorated from the owners travels and situated on an organic farm that produces the food for breakfast (this is where I became addicted to lilikoi!!) I would come back to Hawaii just for the opportunity to stay here again!

Yelp
My husband and I like to go away to a bed and breakfast every year for our anniversary for two nights. We tend to like small places because of the intimacy and romance factor. Holualoa Inn did NOT disappoint! Our stay there was easily one of our top two favorite anniversaries! The staff is awesome! We were treated like we were in our own home and had run of the place both nights. The room was dreamy, the rooftop gazebo had a breathtaking view, the pool was nice and just the right temperature, the downstairs game room had everything you could ask for, the decor was incredible and the service - flawless. They even have bathrooms with showers downstairs by the pool, and will keep your luggage there if you check out and just want to hang out until its time to go to the airport! Ok, so I have to mention breakfast. A-MA-ZING. It is cooked fresh for you when you come downstairs, and made to order. The views from the dining room are incredible. Everyone eats at one table, so we were able to meet the two other couples that were staying there (there are only four rooms, so one was vacant). Note: that was the only time we actually saw anyone else there. We stayed in the Gardenia Suite. Looks exactly like the pictures on the website, with fantastic views. Its their biggest suite (livingroom and bedroom, with adjoining bath) and included a balcony off the bedroom. The sheets are Comphy Sheets - sooooo soft! We ended up ordering a set from the Inn, and they were able to get them shipped from the company to our house on Oahu for free. How awesome is that!? We got the couple's massage in the gazebo one evening, which was awesome. I'd recommend you get it in your room, though, because even though the gazebo was nice, you just don't want to get up and walk anywhere when its over. The furniture they have all over the place is Bali-inspired. Its also all for sale, for a pretty penny. Most of the pieces are very unique. Everywhere you look, there's a place for you to sit and relax, or enjoy the view. We didn't want to leave. It was the first time we'd gone to the Big Island, and Holualoa Inn was a huge reason why the experience was so unforgettable. We will ~definitely~ be back!

Yelp
I immediately fell in love with Holualoa Inn from our first site visit and couldn't be happier that we chose them as our reception venue for our big day. The grounds are like none other I've seen on the island - lush, elegant, private and magical in a way that you can only truly understand having visited there. The staff was phenomenal to work with while planning from afar and they went above and beyond to ensure our wedding was a success. My husband and I got married in March 2020 just before COVID reached the islands, and in the week leading up to our big day there was a lot of uncertainty and stress about potential restrictions and lockdowns. The Holualoa Inn staff worked hard to ease any concerns and ensured that us and our guests felt completely safe. Holualoa Inn is easily my favorite place on the Big Island - so much so that my husband and I will be returning to spend our 1 year anniversary there! Thank you to the Holualoa Inn team for creating such a wonderful space, and helping us create our storybook wedding. Mahalo!

Yelp
Fantastic. Best bed and breakfast we've ever stayed at and amazing amazing Hawaiian inspired breakfast! Be ready for no AC though. The view is fantastic and it's only 5m from town.

Yelp
I am an event planner and have worked with large resorts and small boutique properties planning events for 2 -500 people. In the 15 years that I have been planning events, I have NEVER had such horrible customer service, and have never experienced such greed, blatant disrespect and outright rude attitude from the owner of a wedding venue! There are SO many wedding venues in Hawaii, and many which are much more beautiful than this one. Run away, and do not book this venue unless you want to be stressed out by the high prices, horrible service and uncompromising attitude from the owner!! Shame on them for being so narrow minded and greedy. These are the events that took place which led me to write this review: My client (bride) booked this venue prior to seeing it in person. We scheduled a meeting (and reconfirmed again 3 days prior to the meeting) and flew out to the Big Island to meet with the team and go over the event logistics, etc to finalize the wedding timeline. To our dismay, the staff at Holualoa Inn did not show up to the meeting! We waited for over 30 minutes and finally called the front desk to find out if anyone was on their way. A man (who was in a rush and clearly had no interest in assisting us) showed up and opened the bathrooms and said he would be back to answer any questions. But he never returned. We had already signed a contract and provided a $3000 deposit for our event there but it was clear that they did not value our business as no one called or emailed us to let us know they wouldn't be at our scheduled meeting. No one ever called to follow up or apologize for missing our scheduled meeting that we specially flew to the Big Island for. My distraught client decided to cancel her event there because the poor service was a red flag and an indication of how the rest of the planning process could/ would be. After we returned home, I called the Inn and the person I spoke with (the owner) seemed like she didn't give a dam. She actually blamed us for scheduling the meeting with her Sales team rather than with her Events team (an error that was not our fault, but rather, a disconnect in their proceedures). When I kindly asked for a refund plus for her to consider waiving the cancellation penalty because of all the money we had spent to come out for the meeting, she completely disregarded my request. I again explained that my client had spent over $1200 on flights, hotel and car to attend this meeting which her team did not show up for, but the owner clearly did not care and they did not refund the $500 cancellation. I am so appalled by the greed and outright disregard for everything we went through. Our trip was a complete waste of time, money and energy because the meeting we set up, did not happen. Please be aware that this company does NOT embody the Spirit of Aloha and Hawaiian Hospitality that you would expect to receive while you're in Hawaii. This company is owned and run by a person from the mainland who is a complete capitalist and only cares about making money. So very sad. Save yourself the stress and book somewhere else!!!

Yelp
We stayed here for the last two days of our Big Island vacation and it was absolutely fantastic. Beautiful setting, warm and attentive hosts, fabulous breakfasts, stunning views... I could go on, but come and see for yourself! I'd rank this in the top B&B we've stayed in and wouldn't consider another place on this island. If you don't mind driving to the beach, this is blissful! Mahalo

Steve S.

Yelp
If you are looking for the best, secluded ... yet close to Kona ... place to enjoy your time on the Big Island ... this is it! Spectacular views of Kona and the Pacific, beautiful grounds and great folks! Donald does an amazing job making breakfast every morning ... collecting the ingredients from the 30+ acres of farm that surround the place, the day before. Pam, Paul, Deborah and the other two gals we met (sorry y'all for not remembering) make sure the rest of your stay is above expectations! ... from the "welcoming juice" and cool towels to the afternoon home-baked snacks and helping plan excursions on the island. ... and a shout out to the maintenance crew that keeps the buildings and the grounds so impressive! The Holualoa Inn has got to be some of the best that Hawai'i has to offer! Mahalo, Ohana from Georgia!

Yelp
It is difficult to know where to start when describing the delightful experience we had at Holualoa Inn. My partner and I stayed at this beautiful in for six days, to celebrate our 25th anniversary. From the moment we arrived, we new this was a special place. We were greeted by Noe, a gracious hostess, as we walked up to the entrance. She knew who we were and was ready to provide all of the details we needed to quickly settle in. The same emphasis on service was consistently demonstrated by the entire staff, but not in a stodgy hotel sort of way. The people of Holualoa Inn seem more like a family and they welcomed as in as new family members. From the delicious breakfasts to recommendations for sightseeing and dining to the beautiful rooms and gardens, every aspect of this inn was a pleasure. To give you a few more specifics, let's start with our room. It was a spacious room with a very comfortable bed, generous sitting area with two chairs and a table, lots of closet space, and a big bathroom. The shower was a true joy. It was large enough for two people :) and actually had decent water pressure - a rarity in just about all hotels, let alone b-n-bs! The towels are especially worth mentioning. They were so soft and thick, we actually asked where to buy them and will be replacing our towels at home. Our room also had a french door leading out to a secluded balcony overlooking the beautiful gardens. Other notable aspects of the Inn include the rooftop gazebo that provides both privacy and a stunning view of the Kona coast, a crystal clear pool, multiple quiet locations throughout the grounds with chairs or chaises, and even a labyrinth for those who want to get lost in thought. Of course, no review of Holualoa would be complete without mentioning the spectacular breakfasts. Each morning started off with a plate containing a variety of fresh fruits - many of which came fresh from the Holualoa grounds. After the fruit, we were treated to a scrumptious dish that varied each day - lilikoi-scented cream cheese stuffed French toast, huevos rancheros with portugese sausage, and eggs florentine are just a few examples. I guess you can tell we really liked this place, huh? :) I wholeheartedly recommend Holualoa Inn for any occasion, but it really is a treat for a special celebration.

Yelp
Beautiful B&B nestled in the Kona hills. You won't be disappointed. Breakfast is AMAZING! Staff is attentive and helpful. Stayed in the Cottage but rooms down in the actual Inn are beautiful too. Can't wait to go back.

Sean O.

Yelp
Not worth the money! Spent a few nights at this Bed and Breakfast (B&B) on our first trip to the Big Island. The B&B itself is pretty nice and the acreage around the place is pretty. It's higher on a hill so you get a good view of Kona and the ocean. However, there are a number of drawbacks to this place. First, there is NO air conditioning. For being in the tropics with crazy high humidity...get some A/C! It was so hot in our room that we couldn't sleep. For $500/nt, they can afford to have A/C installed! Second, the "breakfast" in the morning was NOT a breakfast. They first give you a plate of (overripe) fruit and then a small dish of whatever they are having for "breakfast." There is no menu, no options to have a different meal, no variety, no customization, nothing! They just bring you out whatever they feel like cooking and serve it to you. Being a "Bed & Breakfast" kind of implies that there will be a real breakfast in the morning. It's kind of in the name! Again, for $500/night, I think they could at least offer you a real breakfast and have some options on a menu! Eggs, bacon, sausage, toast, potatoes, pastries, pancakes....just some crazy ideas off the top of my head! And even if you like the food they are serving you, don't expect to be full when you are finished. The portion sizes are so small that you'll still be hungry when you are done. We went to a restaurant after our "breakfast" at the B&B in order to get some real food and actually fill up. In reading the reviews for this B&B, I don't understand how everyone raves about the breakfast. Almost every single person staying at the Inn who had breakfast with us did not eat the meal. They left the majority of the food on the plate and walked away...so I know we weren't the only ones disappointed with the "breakfasts." Third, sound travels throughout the house pretty easily. We had a room on the bottom floor and could hear every movement and every word of the people staying above us. On the plus side, they did have a washer and dryer for us to use...although it didn't clean our clothes very well. There was beach equipment to use such as snorkels, fins, chairs and umbrellas. About half the staff was rude and half was friendly (or at least faked it better than the other half). In short, this place is EXTREMELY overpriced and not worth the money. I wouldn't mind the price so much if you got what you paid for...but you don't. You're better off staying down in Kona at a resort or some other place for a lot less money and more amenities.

Stuart O.

Yelp
Very clean and comfortable place to stay, terrific views overlooking the island and pretty grounds on the property as well. Certainly a highly recommended place to stay, but did feel pricing was on the higher end for our three night overall experience. That said no hesitation at all to make a reservation here again upon next visit to The Big Island.

Paula H.

Yelp
This establishment is a slice of heaven! The grounds are gorgeous as well as the interior. The staff takes great pride in everything they do and show that they genuinely care that you are happy. There is a kitchen available to guests to use if you would like which we did twice. Highly recommend this B&B- it's the nicest one I have ever had the pleasure to stay at .

Sean G.

Yelp
My wife and I had the opportunity to spend two nights at the Holualoa Inn after our wedding in Hawaii on June 14th of this year. To say that this B&B is beautiful is an understatement! The entire experience, from the second we checked in to the point where we reluctantly checked out, was phenomenal! The property is gorgeous and the common area was extremely enchanting. The cottage that we stayed in was incredible and completely stocked with everything we needed to shack up for two days. The Inn has a perfectly situated pool and jacuzzi overlooking fields, a vast ocean front and a very distant downtown Kona. The entire place is absolutely romantic and perfect for a short getaway or a long stay :-) Absolutely recommend this to anyone on the Big Island!

Laura F.

Yelp
My husband wanted somewhere quiet and private for our Hawaii vacation. The Inn is perfect in every way. Beautifully decorated with Balinese decor from the owner's travels. Lots of private places to sit and relax and enjoy the distant 180 degree view of the coast/ocean. Wonderful homemade breakfast, also with ocean views. We chose the freestanding cottage for extra privacy and loved the huge wrap around porch. We slept with all the windows and patio door open listening to the birds. Full kitchen we didn't use except for coffee but would have if we stayed longer. About 10 minutes or so into Kona tourist area. We also ate in the local "town" one block long with one restaurant you can walk to just up the street, but be sure you have reservations. I would highly recommend. Would also be great for reunions or groups as there are multiple common areas to connect.

Lily T.

Yelp
Best inn I've ever stayed. I had a great experience there. The place is beautifully decorated. I really loved the breakfast! The chef did a really good job! The food was fresh and yummy! Almost everything was from their farm! It was way over my expectations. Too bad I missed one breakfast because I overslept! The beddings were super comfotable too. Everything smelled so fresh and clean. I felt comfortable using their towels and stuff. I want to take my family to visit again!

Joyce N.

Yelp
I had recently booked with this venue after researching how beautiful this place was. It was literally my dream wedding setting. My wedding planner, my bridesmaids and my fiancé had planned a trip from Maui to visit the venue. We confirmed with the Inn's event planner for a scheduled time to meet to see the venue and figure out a wedding timeline and even confirmed on the date and time via email a few days before. We arrived to the venue and waited for about 30 mins, the inn had no idea where the event planner was and sent a guy who was not friendly. He asked us if we needed the bathroom opened and kitchen and then stated, "I have something to do, I'll be back and any questions if you are still here." He didn't come back. I had spent over $1200 for this trip to see the venue. Lots of red flags popped up and my stomach hurt just thinking about how UNACCEPTABLE it was. Just booking the venue in the first place seemed like they didn't even want to book us too because we asked for "kamaaina" and asked "too many questions." We ended up cancelling the venue because that incident is indicative of how my wedding day would be. Note to future brides- DO NOT BOOK this venue!!!

H W.

Yelp
This was such a beautiful place. My wife and I were just there for our honeymoon, and thoroughly enjoyed it. All the staff is friendly and attentive and constantly made us feel at home. The delicious natural breakfasts were great, as was the coffee and snacks they put out each afternoon. The property itself is gorgeous, with great views of Kona, that can be enjoyed from various gazebos, the pool, and mist of the rooms. Our room didn't have an ocean view but was beautiful anyway and had easy access to outside, with own private hot tub. Overall, this place is great and a nice change of pace from the more resorty parts of Hawaii.

Yelp
We recently had our wedding ceremony and reception at Holualoa Inn and stayed there for two nights. There are not words that do the Holualoa Inn (both the Malulani Pavilion and the Inn) justice. I was dead-set on a beach wedding until we fell in love with this location and I am so happy we found the Holualoa Inn. The views are stunning. The grounds are stunning. And the staff? Well this is the point I really wanted to hit in my review. If you are searching for a wedding venue in Hawaii, many of the views and grounds will take your breath away, and Holualoa competes with and beats many competitors on that front. However it is the staff at the Holualoa Inn that sets this location apart from anywhere else. Crystal and Brea (sorry if spelled incorrectly!) were the most generous, attentive, and welcoming hosts at breakfast. Joaquim (again, sorry about the spelling) made some special accommodations for us that helped make the day even more special, and Kawika spent the morning of set-up making sure everything was perfect. We only worked with Carol once or twice but she was heartfelt, caring, and genuinely concerned about meeting our needs. And then there is Kathryn (Kat). Kat is a superhero. She is, hands-down, one of the best professionals I have ever worked with in any capacity, wedding or otherwise. Her humor, zest for life, attention to detail, and honest passion for making your day perfect will take a LOT of stress of off your plate. Thank you so much for everything Holualoa Inn. We will be back for an anniversary soon :)

Yelp
Staying in the Gardenia Suite for a week was our dream honeymoon!!! Absolute heaven!!!! Chef Brian made the most phenomenal breakfasts (and chocolate chip cookies) we've ever eaten, the landscaping is beautiful, the views spectacular....we also had the romance package, the massages in a little hut overlooking the ocean, and flower leis. Every detail of our honeymoon at this inn was amazing. Also worth noting, the stone shower is wonderful, and every bed, chair, etc in the room was incredibly comfortable and in perfect condition, and chairs and tables are set up in scenic areas throughout the property for romantic dinners and relaxing. Also - having a personal refrigerator shelf and grill was GREAT, we grilled several dinners and ate them at sunset. It was so much nicer than eating out every night. =)

Yelp
Absolutely spectacular setting on a ridge away from the Kona Coast. Clean, thoughtful lodging. Don't think twice about this.

Yelp
Spent two nights here in March 2014. It's not cheap -- ~$450/night for a room for two people - but it's in line with the Kohala Coast resorts, & it's worth it for a very nice, quiet, high quality experience. - beautiful property in the hills above Kona-Kailua. ~10 min drive up the hill on windy roads through the neighborhood. - plenty of parking on the property - feels more like a personal residence than an inn / hotel. Supposedly it was a family home before it was purchased by an antiques dealer who turned it into an inn. - great views up and down the coach, see the sunset etc. You can spend all day just hanging out and enjoying yourself here. - beautiful rooms with sitting areas in addition to the bed space, large bathrooms - very quiet - outdoor swimming pool (unheated), heated outdoor hot tub with views - gardens and various places to stroll and sit outdoors - downstairs "family room" with TV, movies, kitchen etc. You can buy groceries and/or wine/beer & leave your items downstairs - rooftop covered sitting area with views - good breakfasts - walking distance uphill to the local restaurant for lunch/dinner - only downsides: it's not directly on the beach and it takes ~10 min to drive downhill for shopping, dining etc. Bottom line I'd stay here again for a very nice, special event vacation.

Yelp
Best B&B I have ever stayed at. The place is SUPERB, clean, GORGEOUS VIEW, amazing breakfast, jacuzzi with a view of the Kona coast, very close to restaurants and a short drive to the beach. I can't recommend this place enough, as I walked around the property I felt like my wife and I were there alone. There was a lanai on the roof to sit back and soak up the view, the pool was clean and also had the view of the coast. My wife and I left early some mornings to do excursions and the staff accommodated us with breakfast to go and on one occasion even made breakfast for us early so that we would not leave with empty stomachs. I am AMAZED with this place and I hope to return soon.

Yelp
I recently spent 3 nights at the Holualoa Inn with my family for my nephew's wedding. We had the entire inn to ourselves. I have been fortunate in my travels to stay at some very fine hotels. However, I have to say that the Holualoa Inn surpassed all of my expectations. We were warmly greeted upon our arrival with lemonade and a cool cloth. We were then given a tour of the facility. All of the rooms were beautiful. The common area and pool were perfect. We were able to gather together in the evening share stories. The breakfast provided by Chief Donald was amazing. He was very accommodating to my granddaughters. One has diabetes and he was sure that her meals where appropriate. My younger granddaughter had a cough and he offered to make her ginger honey tea. The staff provided delicious sweet treats in the evening. Like others I cannot say enough wonderful things about this place. I am forever grateful to my brother and his wife for treating us to such an amazing experience.

Yelp
I just returned from 5 nights here and words can not describe how great our experience was at the Holualoa Inn. We are not B&B people but immensely enjoyed everything about the inn - the staff, food, coffee and overall R&R was superior! The best thing - you feel you are in Hawaii and not just some 5-Star resort that could be anywhere in the world. We shall return - not soon enough!

Yelp
My husband and I spent our wedding night at Holualoa Inn. It was beautiful, accommodating, and everyone was very nice. We were able to enjoy the common area and all the facilities offered during our stay. It truly is the perfect way to escape the real world and relax in magical space.

Yelp
I am going to do my best possible written recap of our stay at Holualoa Inn, but its going to be no where close to reality. My wife and I came here on the end of our 2 week Hawaii trip and stayed for 3 nights in the Coffee Cherry Room. From the moment we waled in, to the time we left, we were treated with love, respect and like family. The staff at the Inn were some of the nicest people we have ever met, and really took good care of us and other guests. In addition to soaking up the amazing views, you will soak in the most amazing coffee and delicious breakfasts, which are always a surprise and a gastronomical journey your tastebuds are going to love. Some of the things we loved while at the Inn were the awesome grill, where you can buy yummy local fish and grill fro dinner. Watching the sunset and the amazing snacks and desserts that are made available to all guests. You will not go wrong staying here, and will have a memorable experience.

Yelp
Amazing- every detail was thought of. We absolutely loved our time there. The rooms were spacious and clean, the food was amazing, and the grounds and shared spaces were elegant and well cared for. This definitely beat a resort in terms of comfort, charm and not having to pay for extras (parking, beach towels, etc). We cannot wait to go back.
