Great happy hour deals from 4-6 with half off drafts, so my peach sour was only $3.50! We sat at the bar, and they had a wide selection of 30 beers on tap. I got the poke bowl with tuna for $18 which I thought was delicious and reasonably priced, but I would like to come back and try some of their happy hour food specials!

While the food is delicious, im fairly sure I got served a plate that a chef said was gluten free and it WAS NOT, because I got rashes after eating it. I could be wrong, but my gut was telling me I probably should have asked if they used soy rather than tamari. It was the pad thia, again delicious, just raising an eye brow. The staff was awesome and friendly, even while being slammed on a busy Sunday. The only down side is when its busy, its hard to hear and there is no noise dampened in the place.

What a great find! Hole-in-the-wall bar feel and I mean that with all the admiration and love. Food was bar food style - we had the burger with Gouda (Gooey Gouda Burger) and cheese curds and tried several beers out of the thirty they had on tap. Shayne was our sever and what a great young man. Awesome personality and efficient. Checked on us just enough to make sure we had everything we needed. We had four different beers from different breweries around the country and I ended my evening with a pumpkin spice martini (Holy cow! DELICIOUS!) over all - fantastic bar experience! Casual dining and casual attire required. Definitely would visit here again!

My favorite place to play trivia and get drinks over the week! They always have great food here when you're hungry, though the prices are just a tad high compared to other places. Beer selection is excellent! The trivia host, John, is very fun and engaging every week, and our regular bartender Brandon is always friendly and helpful in getting us taken care of. Wonderful!

Medium size menu. Friendly waitress. Just a avg, older bar that isnt spectacular but not trash either. My sons burger was great. Wifes perogies were good but swimming in oil (dripping off). The fries were AHHMAZING and in a style Ive never had before. But $1 EACH for two small things of ranch?? So 4 tbsp ranch was $2??? Who charges for ranch..... and if you do, maybe MENTION IT? It wasnt even flavored, more like mayo with 3 dill sprigs. But $2 for that is highway robbery. The cubano sandwhich wasnt good either... old pull pork, dried and shredded like shoe jerky, honey mustard (weird), on burnt bread. I felt lile I was going to vomit for 2 hrs+ after. Pass.

The atmosphere is cozy and historic, making it the perfect spot to settle in for a flight. Knowledgeable staff and a vibe that can't be beat. 10/10.

First time here. Heard about it on a ghost tour. Supposedly haunted. And on the tour a person in our group mentioned they have really good food. Well they did have really good food. We ordered wings as an appetizer. I was amazed how fast they came and how good the quality was.I also ordered a picture perfect burger that I did not take a photo of. Delicious. Staff was great. Our server was very nice. And twice other servers came up and asked if we needed anything.

The Good: It's a seat yourself kinda joint which is cool. We had plenty of tables to choose from in the back. Some of the food was delicious, like the pretzel and cheese app (omg so soft and delicious); the ahi tuna (although I thought it was a bowl when I ordered but it was just ahi tuna with a seaweed salad and sauces to dip); the potato bowl; and a burger (the steak fries were amazing)...Hubs enjoyed his adult beverages... strawberry and then a peach infused something or other on tap. The Bad: The waitress was very difficult to get her attention or even find her, which was frustrating. We ran out of time to get a replacement for the ramen because the place got so busy and the kitchen was way behind on orders and we had a concert to get to, so my son went hungry for a few hours until we could stop somewhere else to grab fast food for him. He did enjoy sharing the pretzel app so he didn't starve. The Ugly: Do NOT order the ramen noodle bowl. This is not the place for that. First of all it's not really ramen. It's 25¢ top ramen noodles in a sauce that can only be described as a burnt oil broth. Absolutely disgusting. Go somewhere else if you want ramen.

The pineapple upside down cake shot was appropriately flavored. The brownie w beer brew did not have a beery taste at all and my friend tried the brownie and agreed. My friend had a new blueberry cheesecake fried roll. I'd eat it myself and probably like it but not a first choice for me since I'd associate it with an asian pork roll or such. My friend noticed mint would have been better as a garnish than the kale used and I agree. I feel the cheesecake roll would do better as a cannoli wrap instead of the egg roll. The vibe here is a friendly crowd. Servers are very friendly and work together. Very casual here. We did not have actual meals but maybe another time.

The Holy Hound has a typical bar atmosphere. We seated ourselves and weren't approached by a staff member for about 10 minutes, but then someone came to take our order. Someone else brought out the food, someone else checked on us later, someone else checked on us after that, etc. Our group all enjoyed our food, and although they didn't have a ton of gluten-free selections, the kitchen did their best to accommodate the member of our group with celiac (who ordered a salad). Both rooms of the restaurant were almost full, and it was loud enough that we had to almost yell to talk among ourselves. Would return, possibly with earplugs, for the wide selection of drinks, including local beers and 2 flavors of cider.

Had a great time with friends, but service was not the best. Sat down for a table of 4. One member of our party was using the bathroom and the waitress took the stool away without asking. When we said they were in the bathroom and coming back the waitress responded "first come first serve" and continued to take another stool away from another party without asking. Waitress never checked on us again until we were ready to pay the bill.

Ordered the Melter Skelter sandwich with tomato. It was good, but it would've been better paired with tomato soup instead of chips. We also ordered nachos for the table and they were good but could've used more cheese. Nice place. Good service. Right across from Timeline Arcade

4 - I'd drive 30 minutes just to come here. Scroll to the end to see my rating scale. Starting this one with the food, I'd drive 30 minutes just for a burger at Holy Hound. Mama and I both had different burgers and both were excellent. Cooked to order and the chef nailed it. Lots of flavor and the steak fries that came with were literally the best I've ever had with a unique but not overpowering flavor. The food was so good that the beer review takes second place for Holy Hound. It's solid...a good mix of craft and mainstream brews should make it easy to find a compliment to your meal. Super efficient wait staff that was also unique...seems like one person takes all the orders, one busses and serves, and one closes out tabs. The boss made rounds regularly to check on everyone as well. Every staff member was the right mix of friendly without being up in your face about it. Lastly, it's a fun and inviting atmosphere. All the patrons were clearly enjoying their evenings. I guess the one "negative" is that it's a really loud place...like a high school cafeteria where you're on the edge of yelling to your companions. If you're looking for a quiet intimate evening, this isn't the place, but if you're after a welcoming and lively atmosphere, Holy Hound is definitely a place to check out! 1 - Just don't 2 - You'll survive, but there are better choices close by 3 - Good choice if you're in the area 4 - I'd drive up to 30 minutes just to come here 5 - I'd try to convince my wife to drive an hour just to come here

First time trying this place. Enjoyed sitting outside. Service was fast. Anthony was very nice, knowledgeable. Food came out looking great and hot! He recommended the beef vegetable soup and it was delicious. Spicy garlic wings were good- next time will ask to have fried a little bit longer for crisper skin. Drinks were disappointing; didn't taste like any alcohol in them. Overall, making plans to go back for weekend brunch

I was absolutely distraught when I learned they got rid of the blueberry cheese cake egg rolls. I had an awful day and the only thing that could bring me happiness were those gooey delicious rolls but my heart was broken when I went in and informed they no longer made them. I adore this restaurant but I will no stand for such injustice. I thought this was a holy place. #bringthemback #unholyhound

I didnt get food here, was just passing through York. I wanted a Blue Moon but they didn't carry them, but the beer they gave me instead was very tasty. I love the whole tavern type feel and rhe decor was super cute. I loved the diversity and the service was nice!

Wow, so glad I checked Yelp and saw Holy Hound had such good reviews. We almost went to a different brewery where we've been before. A brew pub, Holy hound has a humongous tap list, as well as cans/bottles. They even have some spirits. Get a designated driver and try the peanut butter stout with a shot of whisky, like a boilermaker, right? We two feasted on a giant pretzel with crab dip, it was covered in Old Bay and was quite the treat. We're planning to return for a burger on a Tuesday, I think. They have half-off specials each day. The service was great, and the place was clean and uncluttered. I loved all the art and memorabilia on the walls, and the colors chosen for the walls. My faves were the hound dog pics. I'd add another star if there wasn't a $2 up-charge for Beyond and a whopping $5 for fries instead of house made chips, but I think I'd try them first. I will try them! We'll be back on a half-price burgers day so we can splurge on all the extras!

Literally just left out. We say ourselves, the waitress walked over and literally threw the menus on the table and walked away. Said nothing. Came back with 2 waters and asked did we know what we wanted. My husband and I were appalled. We didn't even want to eat. Hopefully it wasn't a race thing. It was my second time there and I will never go back

My friend Skip and I met in York to have late lunch. I like stopping in at the HH for their awesome beer selection; you can usually find something odd on tap. My find for today was Arctic Panzer Wolf from 3 Floyds. They were fairly busy at 3:00 in the afternoon. Food was great! I had a gooey gouda burger and steak fries. Skip has a cheese steak sandwich. Portions were more than plenty. 2 large sandwiches and 4 beers - $50. Service was good. Only downside is that parking can be a pain, $1.50 an hour on the street. Parking garages are about a 1 to 1-1/2 block walk.

Very nice Brewery right downtown with outside seating along the sidewalk, which is nice on a beautiful day. The beer selection is always good and the burgers are really good. Can get very crowded on the weekends. Little hard to hear when they have live music. My only complaint is that the merch selection is a little on the weak side, they need a pint glass with that beautiful logo on it. Still need to try the Brunch menu on the weekend.

Great place for beer tasting. Great customer service and lots of beer to choose from, even though I'm not a huge beer drinker, the workers allowed me to sample beers to find something I liked.

My brother and I stopped in for lunch because the original idea fell through. The drinks and food were good, although my brother asked to substitute chicken for the beef on his Forest Floor and he did not get the chicken. We weren't charged for the chicken, so we didn't mention it to avoid waiting longer. The crab dip on my Save the Bay sandwich was amazing. We both enjoyed the Cesar salads with homemade croutons.

I'm one of those people who use Yelp to see what the food looks like, so that's why I have so many pics LOL This place is right across the street from my work building, so my coworkers and I eat here often. Recently I've been trying to eat "healthier" and so I went with the salad and added chicken and bacon. The best part about it? It was GRILLED. Whatever they used to season all of it or however they cooked the lettuce and chicken... SO good and SO much flavor. I wound up not even using my dressing!!! Never had anything bad here, Holy Hound continues to impress.

Great find in the Market District area of downtown York. This expansive taproom features over 30 beers on tap plus bottle and canned selections. The menu has some nice variations on bar favorites. I enjoyed the pierogi appetizer which featured a sriacha cream sauce for dipping and crisp-fried pierogis. The crisp texture was unusual but tasty. My companion had the white chicken chili whic was also excellent. Service was exceptional and the staff was extremely friendly. Our server, Tyler, was very attentive but not intrusive--which can be a difficult balance sometimes. We will definitely be back after a most enjoyable mid-afternoon visit.

Food was top notch !! Beer list goes on for days . What staff are the best out there. The ambiance very well done . This is a must stop for anyone who likes good food and beer

Bartenders are great, huge tap menu. Fun place to stop and have a drink. Fast service. Next time we will try some food.

Visiting the York area on a business trip, we were headed to Rockfish Public House for dinner and stopped here for some adult beverages beforehand. The Holy Hound turned out to be a nice choice for just that. There's an impressive, extensive collection of beers, including a small amount of local brands (which is something I like to seek out while traveling). I had the Liquid Hero General Pils and the Molly Pitcher P.B. Porter. Both were great choices. The staff was super nice. It's a pleasant, open enough layout. We were there on a Wednesday night and it wasn't too crowded or loud. I didn't get a chance to try any food since we were headed elsewhere for dinner, but for a place to have a beer or two, it was a solid choice all around.

Pretty cool bar overall. Here's what got and how I liked it : 1. Crab pretzel: very good. Definitely would recommend. 4/5 2. Mango Habanero Wings: sooooo so good! 10/5 for the wings!! 3. Steak and Egg Breakfast Eggrolls: I was so excited for these and they were a hugeeee let down. They were bland and definitely needed some salt. The sauce that came with it was super bland too. I ended up replacing this with the crab pretzel. 0/5 for the eggrolls.

Great beer selection. .. Decent food...just the right environment for a chill downtown bar scene...service can be a little iffy at times but it's understandable given the high volume.

Came here for a meet and greet and was very pleasantly surprised! Awesome atmosphere - enough bar space to sit and have a drink and/or food, but also plenty of tables to sit and eat/drink. Also have a back room you can rent for private events. Their beer selection was great - very expansive. Had several options in every type of beer. I ordered a sour (#26 at the time, I believe) and it was awesome! The food was excellent as well. Particularly loved the crab dip and fried chicken sliders. Plenty of nearby street parking from what I saw - though I did go on a Sunday evening, so perhaps it might be harder to find somewhere to park on a busier weekend evening. I do believe there was something like a $10 CC minimum when purchasing from the bar - but not a huge deal at all, just plan to order two beers (or yours and your friends). Will definitely be back!

I really dig this joint. Dont be scared off if you aren't into craft beer, they've got plenty of mass market beer and Yuengling. Great selection of micros if that's your thing. I was really impressed with the food and their nightly specials as well. Service and atmosphere were great!

Came to York PA from Tampa FL for a wedding and was referred to this place for good eats . Man , they did not disappoint!! Dog friendly , drinks were great the service was beyond amazing !!!! We felt right at home when we walked in and the staff took such great care of us . They gave awesome suggestions on drinks and food and everything from the service to the food and atmosphere was perfect .

The good and service is great here. The atmosphere can be challenging at times. I have been there during a fight amongst women that started in the bathroom and ended up right behind me, and I have witnessed other unsavory activities in this place.

Went for happy hour but it wasn't really happy hour. Food was pretty good. Service was ok. Ambiance was cool. They had a local band. It was nice. I would recommend

Great Happy Hour and daily food specials. 1/2 price pork sandwich and fries on Friday. 1/2 price beers on tap 4-6. Not on Saturday. Got 4 beers and sandwiches for $25. Get the chips and not extra for fries. They are a little salty but better than the fries. Check your bill before paying and have an idea in mind of cost. Computer glitch may charge full price for one sandwich. Out of 40 beers on tap, there is something for you. Great vibe and staff. One of my favorite spots.

I've had this bookmarked for way to long! Worth the wait for sure! The venison burger was excellent and earthy with mushrooms and Swiss cheese. The beer selection is great and atmosphere really nice. The fries were some of my favorites. The chicken chili was a served colder then it should have been and wasn't as much chili as it was soup. Ordering at the bar was weird and a little hard to get the bar tenders attention but worked fine.a server would have been helpful.

The Hound is a great place! I drive all the way from Lancaster County to go here. I started coming here during covid, they stayed open, kudos to the owner. The place is very friendly, service is ultra fast and smooth with very good staff and the food is always good. Try the pork tacos with their own custom coleslaw topping (it's got grated apples in it) - AMAZNG. The chef will admit he takes pride in his creations. Be aware, this place is right downtown, but they don't tolerate bad behavior and if a local street trouble maker shows up, "it" is quickly ejected from the building. This bar is on the same block of Beaver Street as the White Rose and IMHO it is much better than the Rose. Parking downtown is hard to find so be prepared to drive around and probably park a block or 2 away. There are close to 30 custom brews on tap if you're into that. The place holds a lot more people than the White Rose and the sidewalk tables get used a lot! Even the York mayor hangs out here. I like Falloons too, but this is a much safer neighborhood and the establishment seats a lot more people. Try it on Wednesday trivia night‼ Old school good times crowd.

This was a good find on Sunday in York to watch the football game. Decent food, good service. Ramen was tasty, but dry with no broth. Homemade chips were fabulous - hot, crispy and seasoned perfectly. Gumbo was tasty but didn't have much in it - I couldn't find any shrimp or sausage or vegetables and no rice - good flavor, though. Brownie was really good. Drinks were good. I didn't give 5 stars because food was good, but a few minor tweaks would make it 100% and the drink I ordered came with an unexpected upcharge. This should have been explained better. It would not prevent me from returning, but now I know.

This bar has a lot of beers to choose from and plenty of options for everything else. They were able to accommodate a large group in the back which was nice (without a reservation) even though we were just doing drinks. When we went, they were also doing a brunch which did look pretty good. They also had a bloody mary bar for you to choose your options for what you wanted to add in (cheese, pickles, jalepenos, celery, old bay, etc). It was a great spot to just hang out and grab a drink.

This bar is awesome! I've been coming here for years! The bartenders know me and come up and talk to me. The staff is amazing! Always check if I need another drink. They play rock music on Tuesday nights and there's nothing better than sitting down with a beer while rock is playing. Plenty of flavors of beer and nice people. Located in a perfect location in York City. I also love how they support our fire, EMS and Police by pinning their patches up behind the bar. Gives me a hometown vibe.

Lot of beers on tap as well as many options for burgers. Fun place for date nights. The options are endless for drinks and food. Their homemade chips are so good! Not kid friendly-as it is a bar setting.

I am visiting from Hong Kong and I was looking forward to my first York experience for dinner. However, I was totally shocked at one of the servers. She swore at my friend when he gave her four dollars in change and said "Are you FUCKING kidding me? Do I look like a fucking bank?" Please note there was no one in line behind us and the bar was fairly empty. We left the venue with takeaway boxes because we were so upset with being treated so poorly. If York wants to attract tourists it really needs to rethink the level of its service and general manners to customers. VERY appalled and disappointed at my first York experience.

The food was absolutely stellar, the environment was lovely. The service sucked. We were there for over an hour waiting for our food. It never did show up. It took over half an hour for someone to take our order and our appetizer went to some guy that came in after us and left before we did. When we finally canceled due to having other plans, I noted the server telling another patron they were out of the exact meal we had ordered. Would they have told us they were out, or left us sit to figure it out for ourselves? The only service we did get was instantaneous refills on alcoholic beverages!

The food was excellent and the beer on tap was outstanding. My bartender (Tyler) was a real pro. Great service. Five stars all around. My review is two stars because I witnessed the owner of the establishment inappropriately touch and flirt with one of the bartenders, a young woman who was new. The owner, a bearded man in his fifties, touched this young female bartender every chance he got. He put his arm around her shoulder, he put his hand on her lower back. He flirted with her, asking her how old she though he was and then asked her how old she was. He said something like "I know I'm not here that often and people don't think I know where stuff is, but I do..." and proceeded to show her around behind the bar. The owner was drunk. He was slurring his words and stumbling around behind the bar. I saw him talking to some other customers, and when he left, those customers expressed concern to the bartender: "He's not driving is he? He definitely shouldn't be driving." I saw this man - the owner- interact with other male bartenders and he kept his hands to himself. At one point it looked like one of the male bartenders distracted the owner so that the female bartender could pass by untouched. I hope that young female bartender is okay. This place needs some sexual harassment training - and the owner needs to attend.

This place has excellent appetizers lovely service, it gives a hometown Vive with creative fusion type of dishes. Great beers on tap. I only wish they would embody more of the sports bar type of energy but highly recommend if you're looking for a laid-back atmosphere with good food And premier service.

Holy Hound has the best fish tacos in town! I also love this slaw it comes with! Plus, they have an awesome beer selection for my partner, including the one beer I drink Frujli! The service has been a little slow, but I think that's because they've been super busy and are not used to being a table service restaurant. It has always been pub-style until the Pando hit. Will always be one of our favorite places!

This Bloody Mary is phenomenal. Perfect for anytime of day or occasion. Also Shayne seems a bit soft to be a bouncer here just saying

Shane is basically a prodigy amazing service. He made sure our food came out promptly and that our drinks were full. Very professional!! I will be back

Beware! They are NOT following any COVID regulations. They have people sitting at the bar, servers with masks on below their noses, patrons walking around without masks at all, and ZERO social distancing. The kicker is they have taken the time to "self certify" with the government as COVID compliant which is an absolute lie. I understand how difficult it is for restaurants but we've been in this for a year, you should have adjusted by now and know that nothing is worth jeopardizing people's health. It's such a shame. My family used to be regulars at Holy Hound but we won't be returning, even after COVID.

This was an okay place to meet up with friends while in the area. Although I can see why the restaurant does it, I didn't appreciate having to stand in line to grab drinks like waiting in the lunch line in elementary school. The drinks were reasonably priced, food was okay but that whole line thing had my panties in a bunch.

I loooove this bar! The food is SO well made. Everything is homemade and from scratch. My top favorites being the poutine. It's so original and full of flavor. We get it almost every time we go. My second favorite being the cauliflower tacos. I think I moaned through every single bite. If you're in town, swing in for a good beer and some outstanding food. It's worth it!

This is a fun little bar. Sometimes they have live music and open mic nights which are fun. Great selection of beer and a chill atmosphere. It's a little cozy for the number of customers, but usually a good time.
