Dinner with a panoramic view of West Kelowna. Words or photos would not do justice to the ambiance and view that this place encapsulates. Home Block has a rotating set menu concept, which I love as it takes a load off of deciding what to order. With 3 to our party we were able to enjoy a bit of everything. The food was fresh and not overly seasoned. Steak was tender and the accompaniments were paired perfectly. My favourites of the night though would have to be the Sticky Toffee Pudding and the Jelly Custard desserts. The cake was bathing in a caramel bath and the Jelly Custard was refreshingly good which is not what we were expecting! Highly recommend this place for an elevated evening out and try to book during sunset, you won’t regret it:)

Truthfully the worst dining experience I have ever had. Your team needs a serious review on proper service and food standards towards your customers. Jumping into the food - Mushrooms on bread came in with very burnt toast on the edges and under the food that I didn’t have a better picture of, not acceptable for a place of this caliber to give your customer exceptionally burnt toast. When informing the waiter of this he was taken back as if we offended him. To us that makes me think this level of food is typical (I hope not) It sadly does not stop there & based on what we got back from the kitchen clearly shows the chef’s were upset and rather than giving us or the servers an apology of some form, they actually gave us a barely cooked soggy piece of bread. I assume someone’s ego was hurt here and they decided to pull one over on the customer as an”that will show them” situation.. not impressed. Food item #2 Eggplant main course - I’m not kidding here when this came back charbroiled and burnt on the outside and leaving a large chunk of the meal completely inedible. You can’t expect a customer to dine on charcoal, that’s just offensive. I’m sure we all know that it’s fine to broil or cook and eggplant like this, but you must remove the blackened skin before serving. (Glass of wine issues surprisingly too) We ended up having a fly land inside our wine.. This isn’t the worst thing as these things can happen but not a good look regardless. So summing up the food issues then takes me to staffing. We had 3 servers during our entire course, very confusing who actually looked after us, not that it mattered as we had very little service. - Long time to get food: It took exactly timed 27 minutes from ordering to get appetizers & 43 minutes from appetizers to main course and very little people inside dining when we ordered - water was filled once or twice during the 2 hours we were dining. - Not one staff asked me about my black burnt to crisp eggplant when I left it at the end of the meal. (Just to mention we spent over $600 here and had an $87 service fee tacked onto the bill.

We had a 3-course wine-paired meal. For appetizers, we had the crispy squid and burrata. The entrée was the Pork Chop and a 10oz flat iron steak. For dessert, we had the Sticky Toffee Pudding and Chocolate Zucchini Cake. The reason we give Home Block a 4-star rating is due to the contrast in the food from appetizers to entrees. I believe the chef's choices for this course were incorrect, and I hope the reasons below are heavily taken into consideration. The burrata was not good, the bread was way too oily, there were no greens, and everything had a layer of grease to it. The reason it doesn't go well is that the same onions used on the burrata were also used on the Entrée steak. This causes the flavour profiles to be the same. The next issue was that the Steak had fried lion's mane mushrooms, which resembled the same fried flavour profile as the crispy squid. This makes little contrast between the appetizer and entree, which was not desired. With limited options to choose from on the appetizer and entree list (which is a standard at winery restaurants), the dishes should not have similar flavour profiles, as this doesn't allow for a proper flavour showcase and experience of the food. Overall, Home Block was great; the portion sizes were big, the quality of the food was great, the service and atmosphere were great, but the choice of ingredients used in the dishes was incorrect. There needs to be more contrast between the dishes to allow for a better experience with the flavour profiles of the food. We will be back, and in hopes chefs contrast in ingredient choices are adjusted to allow for a better dining experience.

Awesome experience at Home Block restaurants! We hat the five course menu and one of the best meals in a very long time. Combined with some very special wines it made a perfect experience in an amazing scenery. We hat a table in the first row on the terrace and could enjoy an outstanding view to the lake over the vineyards of the Cedar Creek winery. Highly recommend. Don’t miss the chance to stop if you’re in the area! And it started already before getting there. We’ve been asked if there were any dietary specifics they would need to consider for the menu. Very attentive and made alle the way throughout the evening!

Avoid if you’re a tourist. My fiancé and I visited the restaurant to celebrate our engagement while visiting Canada. In our online booking we requested that we have a have a window table with a view. When we arrived, there were 2 tables available by the window. We asked the host if we could have one of these tables. The host said that the tables were already reserved and that we had to sit inside. I replied that in our online reservation, that a view was requested. The host said she was sorry but customers were not able to book specific tables. This second statement was confusing and frustrating as ‘not being able to reserve specific tables’ was in direct conflict with her original statement of ‘sorry, the table is already reserved’. I stated this contradiction and the host was either oblivious or obstinate. We were seated inside (with no view) and the 2 other tables remained empty for at least another 15 minutes. Clearly, there is a preferential system where tables can be booked, but this option was not granted to us. The food would be a solid 7/10 but not worth the price without the view. Anyone else visiting the restaurant hoping to get a window seat should not bother attending. In summary, Pros: Food is decent (7/10) 1 of 3 wines we tried were good. Scenery on the drive to the restaurant was nice. Offered a complimentary glass of mediocre wine after giving us rubbish seats facing the kitchen. Cons: Overpriced. Difficult to get a decent seat. Staff make weird conflicting statements to prevent non-regulars from getting good seats. Honestly, lucky to get 2/5 stars.

We had a fabulous time at Cedar Creek. The Staff were friendly and welcoming, the views are incredible and the food is out of this world. We started with the frozen Chardonnay which is a MUST!!!! I had the roasted cabbage with freekeh and a tomato sauce, it was my favourite meal while visiting Kelowna. My husbands meal was also delicious, he had the fish (I believe it was salmon) with charred baby gem lettuce and he throughly enjoyed it. Highly recommend a meal here!!

Love the atmosphere in Home Block. The patio has pretty lake view along with the vineyard view. The 3-course tasting menu we had is great. And you can choose wine pairing or choose wine you prefer if you cannot drink much or nonalcoholic beverages are available too!

We had an amazing evening at Home Block at CedarCreek Winery. We opted for the 3-course wine-paired dinner and added a couple of extras, a glass of Pinot Noir for me and a Chardonnay slushie for my wife to start (I may have had to heroically finish hers too 😄). I had the crispy squid, salmon, and sticky toffee pudding, and my wife chose the tomato salad, pork chop, and the same delicious dessert. Every dish was beautifully prepared and perfectly paired. The sticky toffee pudding alone is worth coming back for. The views overlooking the vineyard and Okanagan Lake were absolutely stunning, and the atmosphere was relaxed but elegant. Service was friendly and attentive throughout. A fantastic evening, highly recommend for anyone looking for a top-tier wine-and-dine experience in Kelowna!

Yelp
Last time I visited Cedar Creek Winery was more than 10 years ago. I didn't know when they renewed the building and restaurant. I discovered by chance that they had upgraded the winery and restaurant, so I decided to visit again. Their tasting room was great, overlooking the lake with sophisticated interior design. The restaurant, located past the tasting room, also had a very nice ambience with a fantastic lake view. We were seated at an outside patio table, where we could choose whether to have our meal with or without wine pairing. The price was just great and reasonable. To start, we ordered Crispy Squid and Salmon Rillettes. The crispy squid had a very light and crispy batter, and it was lightly seasoned, which made it perfect. Paired with Pinot Gris. The Salmon Rillettes were served in a jar, which is a style I rarely see. Paired with sourdough bread, it was very delicious! For the main course, we ordered the Dry-aged Heritage Pork Chop and the Roast Macleods Leap AAA NY Strip. Paired with Pinot noir. The steak was available in rare or well-done options and paired well with horseradish. The pork chop was excellent--so tender and perfectly seasoned. I highly recommend this dish, as many customers seemed to order it as well. For dessert, we ordered the Crème Brûlée and Sticky Toffee Pudding. The Crème Brûlée had a very ordinary but good taste. I was surprised by the butterscotch sauce for the Sticky Toffee Pudding; it was more like a soup, with a lot of sauce but a runny texture rather than a sticky one. Overall, the desserts were just okay, and the pudding especially could use more refinement. I am so impressed by their portion sizes and reasonable prices. The taste was very good as well. The restaurant ambiance was incredibly sophisticated, especially the patio tables with the lake view. It was an unforgettable experience. This restaurant has become my regular winery spot. I definitely plan to go back and try different items on the menu.

Yelp
HOME Block restaurant located at the gorgeous Cedar Creek Winery , was my favorite stop in the entire Okanogan Valley. Honestly, I felt like I was back in California in Napa but better!! It was stunning! It's the total package of location ( eastern Kelowna) lakefront views, incredibly delicious food , killer wines, and the architectural design is incredible. It's open and expansive , it's modern & sleek, It's glass walls , iron and wood, concrete floors, open kitchen, it's rustic , it's warm and cozy. You want to stay. You want to sit on the wonderful outdoor patio with its indoor/ outdoor view and fire pit and just slowly sip their wines all day. And the food, what can I say. It's farm to table, new Canadian , it changes daily, and it features food from local farms and sustainably sourced products. Service is warm, friendly and knowledgeable, and most importantly unrushed. You have time to savor everything and take it all in and that my friends is a sign of a great restaurant and in this case winery also. For our last evening, here in the valley, we did a three course wine Paired dinner for 95 per person with add-ons if you wish. They were approximately three selections in the starter category, the mains and deserts. The wines were expertly paired, and they have flexibility in that you can change a certain wine if it's more to your liking which I appreciated. They also have a couple of cocktails as an apéritif and selected 4 ounce pours of some of their fabulous wines. They have add on delicious sides, like roasted carrots, truffle, Parm, fries, etc.. considering the quality of everything, I thought it was quite affordable, especially when I consider what I've paid in lesser places throughout Canada. Here's what we had: we started with an impressive focaccia, Burrata , Parmesan, prosciutto, salami, fabulous, fire roasted oyster mushrooms, topped with dressed arugula, paired with a sparkling brut rose' for two. Next up: the most insane mushroom soup I've ever had in my whole life. Seriously, if you ever see this on their menu again, you must get it! I could drink a gallon of it. It's the WTF mushroom soup ( no it's not what you're thinking. It stands for "what the fungus "& its a farm they source from) OMG seriously the most delicious combination of roasted mushrooms in a creamy, garlic, lemon, wine base that melts in your mouth. Topped with crispy fried sage & Served with a perfect dry Riesling. Mains: we both had the lamb sirloin ( 10 oz) with crushed pistachio crust atop a silky, cauliflower purée with unfortunately some very salty broccolini, and a Cipollini onion. Cooked perfectly! They also offered a delicious vegetarian option as well as a fish, pasta and steak choice. This was paired with a delish syrah & smooth round cab Franc . Dessert: what to choose ? They offered a sticky, toffee pudding, a riff on a wonderful apple pie crumble with thyme? & a peach cream puff. We chose the first two, wish I could have tried the third option ha ha. I wish I had taken a picture of the menu to share but trust me you can't go wrong if you choose to dine here. Reservations are absolutely required but I repeat. do not miss this experience if you are here in the Okanogan valley. Bravo team Home Block!!!

Yelp
The food was so good. We did the lunch 2 course menu. Very impressed that the menu changes every day and that everything is locally sourced and paired with a wine. The service was so good as well. The waitress was very attentive and it was so nice to see the kitchen working harmoniously. Ambience was gorgeous with a phenomenal view. I will definitely be putting this on my must visit list again and again

Yelp
We stop by Home Block every time we visit Kelowna, and we've had great experiences here. However, our last visited left a sour taste in my mouth. We've never been disappointed with the food here. Everything we've had was top notch - fresh, interesting, and delicious. This time was no exception. The Sticky Toffee Pudding is especially a great way to end the meal. The space is also fantastic - warm and comfortable, while being very modern and a bit rustic all in one. The whole winery, tasting room and restaurant have exceptional design and aesthetic. We've always been pleased with the service, and the waiters are usually friendly, not overbearing, but attentive. My disappointment this time comes from a certain inflexibility and condescending tone I received at the front desk. We had a large group, 10 people - which I know is not an easy number to accommodate. Having that in mind, I called in advance to see if we can reserve a table (or 2) for us. I was politely told to reserve under 2 different names online. No problem. The reservations online are spaced out 15 minutes apart - we reserved for 1.15pm and 1.30pm, hoping to ask on arrival if we can be seated nearby, if one table was not possible. Long story, we were told that it was not possible to seat us together, even though our table fit 6 people and right beside was a table that was free that could have fit 4 people. I did not expect them to start moving tables around at busy lunch service, but a few extra chairs would have done the trick - I'm assuming they thought adding some chairs would be not aesthetic. Fine. My issue is mostly with the lack of empathy and not even a whiff of trying. The woman at the front decided to be condescending when explaining that they couldn't seat us together, blamed our "2nd" group for being 15 minutes early (due to us not being able to book the same time) and overall just giving off a very cold, unwelcoming attitude. They later told us that had we wanted a group seating of more than 8 people, we should've booked a private event - why had nobody offered me that option when I called? It set a bad mood for everyone in our group, for what should have been a happy family reunion. And even though the food was great, as mentioned - everyone left remembering the first, unpleasant minutes after we walked in. I get it, the service industry is hard and sometimes you can't help a customer with everything they want - but there is always a nice way to turn somebody down without making them feel bad in the process.

Yelp
My fiancé and I came here and we absolutely loved the food ! One of the best restaurants at a winery we've been to - everything was super flavorful and tasty ! The crispy squid was my favorite because the dip was super yummy ! Highly recommend ordering ! Another call out is the pork belly entree my fiancé ordered - this was by far one of his favorite meals he's had !

Yelp
Great views, good wine and decent ambiance but below average service and food. Appetizers were decent but the mains and desserts had no real flavours. The menu changes often and the 3 course meal we ordered was disappointing. Limited options for main course. Nobody came by to check how the food was tasting. Even after we let the serving crew and manager know about the food, they kept saying "we don't hear this feedback" and acted like they wanted me to accept that the problem was with us and not with the food. I realized they didn't want to do anything about the situation so we left after paying. Left minimum gratuity but don't think they deserved any. Will not recommend for dinner.

Yelp
This was the best meal we had to our 4 day visit to Kelowna. The menu changes everyday and everything in it was superb. They also pair the appetizer and main with two wines and they complement each other so well. I think this is one of the best and most memorable fine dining experiences I had in western Canada. I highly recommend coming here. The bread pudding with butterscotch sauce and vanilla ice cream is amazing!!!! I think this one does not change too much since the people that work there rave about it.

Yelp
We decided to try the new restaurant at CedarCreek, having heard wonderful things about it. I booked a reservation a few weeks in advance to get the time we wanted. Driving up to the restaurant, the winery still has some construction left, but what they have updated is incredible. It really feels like you're driving up to a luxury winery. The signage is very clear, and we had no troubles finding the place. We walked by the tasting room, and it's quite impressive, with the beautiful floor to ceiling windows, rounded building and wines displayed. I would love to come back for a tasting. The restaurant is a beautifully open space and mmmm with quite a view. The summers outside would be amazing. It was a chilly evening, but they have a fire bowl going, so we explored outside to take in the view of the lake and vineyard. The menu had a great variety of veg, seafood and meat options. We went with the Burrata to start. This dish was an interesting display of focaccia pieces topped with prosciutto, some tasty and mildly spicy green pepper, pears and a yummy ball of burrata. It all worked well together and was a great portion for two to share. I ordered the striped cod and my husband the hangar steak. Both were cooked to perfection. My cod came on top of a nicely spiced black lentil bed. Yum! For dessert, we shared (but mostly I had the whole thing) a dark chocolate budino. So very good. It wasn't overly sweet, and had a nice combo of crunch and smooth textures. I had an americano to finish the evening, and it was excellent as far as coffee service goes. For wines, we tried their Estate Pinot Gris, Sauvignon Blanc and Gewurtzraminer. I do love a good Gewurtz and they did fantastically with their 2018. My husband was please with his Pinot and Sauv. Will absolutely come back!

Yelp
We came here for my boyfriend's birthday because we loved Cedar Creek winery but had never been to Home Block before and it was on our bucket list. What a fantastic restaurant for this special occasion! My boyfriend is a former chef and we are both foodies, and let me tell you: we absolutely loved everything and felt so well taken care of on every level! The service was divine - our lovely hostess/server (whose name we did not get, sorry!) set the ambiance of the place perfectly with her professionalism and good nature, and knowledge of the ingredients - she sold us on the special appetizer salad right away! The food though: WOW! We did the 3-course meal plan: my boyfriend had their special appetizer (the endive salad with camembert) and then for dinner he had the Hangar Steak and he said it was the best Hangar Steak he'd ever had (and that says a lot since he used to be the chef/owner of a steakhouse). I had the crispy squid as an appetizer which had a delectable, slightly salty finish and came with creme fraiche as a dipping sauce - such a nice change to the standard tzatziki that most places serve their calamari with. Then for dinner I had their roasted duck and let me tell you that I could not stop the involuntary drooling! It was heavenly. The pairings of the Cedar Cree wines were perfect and we loved sampling and sharing a few different varietals. For desert my boyfriend had the lemon tart which came with marscapone ice cream, and I had the chocolate cake which came lightly topped with orange-type marmalade and candy. We loved the beautiful evening/lakeside table and felt that there was nothing that could have been better here. We'll be back and we're going to tell all our friends! Thanks so much Home Block/Cedar Creek! #weloveit

Yelp
Quite different from before, since they did renovations and are still under construction for the most part. Last year it was much smaller and the normal entrance. This year the entrance is blocked and we went in from a different entrance to another building. Nice view and good food. A few different options and quite a few different options for drinks, mainly red and white wines but they have ice wine too. Their 45 days dry aged steak take about 45mins to cook but it's really worth it. Nice desserts too and decent coffee. The Huckleberry Tart is quite a unique and amazing flavour. Sticky Toffee Pudding was great, nice texture and very satisfying. I wanted more after but was too full to eat any more. Dark Chocolate Budino was good too, nice touch with the sea salt. Would definitely come back again and highly recommend others to come. Reservation would be recommended too. Nice service and pretty attentive. Unfortunately the shop wasn't opened yet when we where there at around noon to afternoon so we could get any wine to go but the staff said the liquor store should carry a few of their wines. They gave us the option to order online ourselves too.

Yelp
How many times do you need to go to a restaurant to start liking it? How about loving it! Not only was Home Block love at first sight, it was crave after first bite! Although Cedar Creek has been opened for quite some time, their recent facelift certainly puts this winery on the map as one of the must visits when planning your trip to the Okanagon. Spectacular design and open concept gives you a surprising serene and private setting for you to enjoy some good times with friends and family. The main event has got to be their food and wine pairings! Tortiglioni, crispy squid, and hanger steak is perfect for two. Crispy does not mean calamari! This offering gives you thick cuts of tempura fried squid that is juicy when you bite into it, and paired with crème fraiche it is refreshing and light. Superstar of all dishes would be their tortiglioni. Strong flavours with spiced sausages in wine ragu packing a punch, this dish delivers on its promise of a thoughtful pasta dish. Hangar steak is well presented and cooked to medium rare, although slightly tough, the meat is well seasoned and has a good beefy taste. Did we say the views are stunning? You must come!
