We received a warm welcome from Stefan and Nathalie who spoke good English and were looking after two of their small grandchildren. It's beautiful family home in a quiet location. We were quickly shown to our wonderful, stylish bedroom with a huge bathroom and given the details of breakfast the next day and agreed a time for the dinner in their restaurant. We travelled with our dog who loved the large grounds to run around in after a long car journey. We sat in the Autumn sunshine with a glass of local wine. The meal prepared by Stefan and Nathalie was absolutely delicious and good value for money for four courses - all home made. Great selection of cheeses and included coffees. £37 per person. The breakfast was also great quality - home made granola, croissants, breads, yoghurts, fruit, cheeses, coffee and teas. Shame that we only had a short time there - would definitely return to explore the area further. (didn't use the pool as too late in the season). Thank you Stefan and Nathalie

La Cimentelle was an excellent choice for a short stopover on our way to Morzine. |It is a very stylish and welcoming property. We stayed in the dog friendly cottage and the secure gates to the terrace were a real bonus. |Natalie and Stefan were charming and made us feel very at home. Breakfast was superb and we dined in La Cimentelle on our second evening. The meal was beautiful and very good value. |Natalie recommended and booked a lovely restaurant in Avallon for us on our first evening. |All in all a great experience and we would love to return at some point. |If you are travelling with a dog, it is worth noting, the restaurant is not dog friendly.

+ fantastic location and building. the garden around the building was great, full of things to do for kids/adults + great rooms (we had in apartment), great attention to details, lots of graphic novels; extra clean + delicious breakfast and a fantastic dinner (be sure to reserve in advance) + the pool, located in an old cement factory, is just perfect + the owners were just great, they helped us with everything we needed

This was my second visit and it was just as good as I remembered.|It’s an absolute delight in every way - the rooms are tastefully furnished but relaxed and comfortable with great bathrooms. The gardens and pool area are so relaxing, especially after a long day’s driving. |I strongly suspect you’ll not get better vegetarian food served anywhere in France - just remember to give advance notice.

The welcome was just lovely and the setting so inviting after hours on a motorway. No fault of anyone, it was extremely hot and getting sleep was really difficult especially for one of our party in an attic room. A shame as the rooms are just beautiful. Our evening meal in the garden was a delight with excellent wine guidance to accompany.

Too expensive, too overrated Update after input host: Stefaan maybe you should start asking questions instead of writing this rand; you were on holiday so you couldn’t even tell how thing went and besides that the below contains quite some lies from your side. Hopefully you can read the clock better in real life as we were having breakfast at 8:15… Finally; Great to see that everybody who had some negative comments in the past gets such a grown-up reaction from you.. We booked our stay mainly due to our prevous stay (2 years ago and previously it was good) ánd for the Tesla charger. Unfortunately we had some strange and bad experiences this time. We stayed for 5 nights and would definitely not go back. On the first day the tesla charger was broke, the other day the hostess would call the electricity company (ADF) to ensure the charger would work. 3 days later during the stay the hostess told us that she didn’t called the electricity company and that the charger still didn’t work. We unfortunately had to make additional costs and were not given any explanation that made sense. Also, we had the feeling of not being welcome during our stay. At arrival the hostess was cold and quick. We were asked if we wanted to have dinner during the week; this was not possible on 2 nights because it was closed. During these nights it turned out that actually there were dinner guests. Not really a great feeling, especially not if you stay 5 nights for the second time. Dinner was expensive. There are better alternatives considering this pricing. Was there anything positive? Yes, the beds and the nature around the house. Would we recommend in this place? No, too expensive considering the above and no hospitality at all. Typical French behavior.

We booked this place for 2 nights, but to be honest: this was not our kind of holiday location. A beautiful guest house and garden. The room we booked was a family room: very spacious and clean. Books for children, a nice view and beautiful bathroom.|The swimming pool is a strange thing: you may not walk around in swimming clothes, the swimming pool is upstairs (dangerous stairway) and the pool is not very large. |Dinner in the evening is a little too late for children. Breakfast was fine (we had to order what we wanted the evening before on a paper). ||In the neighbourhood, there is very little to do or to explore. Beautiful nature, but that's it. We are a family with a kid of 5 year so we want to explore things and do things. We had the bad luck that the weather was rainy and not good, so we decided to stay 1 instead of 2 nights here. The host and hostess were understanding and gave 50% discount on the second night. ||So, a nice place for couples wo want a break.|

We always stop over here when we drive to the Alps for skiing or down to the south of France. The hosts, Nathalie & Stephane, are so welcoming and chat to us and the kids. The dinners are delicious and they serve lovely local wines. Breakfasts are great and the kids say it’s their favourite breakfast ever! We always book the Ernest suite which works very well for us, and is quiet, spacious and spotless. I’m sure we’ll continue to visit for years to come!
