Amazing ! Went here with a friend yesterday. The setting is magical and peaceful. Fountain and ramp over water as you walk in. Immediately greeted by friendly staff and shown to our table. The outlook across the vineyard is amazing. Attentive staff and very warm. The food is to die for! My favourite was the souffle and the choc tart and the fish was excellent. I have not eaten food this good in a long time and there is not quality of food in Hobart like this. The wine also divine and I bought two bottles to take home. Pinot Gris buttery and citrisy my favourite and the Pinot Noir delicious, both Home Hill. Price amazing $150 approx

This was a stand out on our trip to the Huon Valley. We came for a wine tasting and also had lunch. Blessed with good weather we were able to sit outside however views from inside were just as nice. The staff were knowledgeable and attentive and the food was of a high quality and standard. The chicken liver parfait really stood out but our mains of eye fillet and trout were delectable. The simple grilled broccoli with nduja was superb as was the beef tartare. The cheesecake was the fluffiest most delicious cheesecake I have ever eaten and definitely was surprising and unexpected. Highly recommended.

The service was very slow. They have too few wait staff and our waitress was obviously very rushed. We had a party of seven and 6 of the seven meals were good. Coffee was served cold. We purchased $300 on two good bottles of reserve pinot… very nice. I wanted to pay for the wine separately but they would not split the bill. In all an average experience for $800. This is my third visit and my experiences have been consistent. They need to improve their focus on service.

Delicious lunch and great service from Matt. We enjoyed the twice cooked soufflé and duck pie, the fish of the day and the 2 sides and the chocolate tart.one if the best meals we have had in Tassie.

Touring the state and visited Home Hill winery, requested a glass of wine only and was advised they can only serve alcohol if it's with food. I said we've just eaten at Willie Smiths (highly recommend) and not hungry and reiterated that we are just after trying some of your wine. Staff declined to serve us alcohol unless we purchased food - ridiculous and extremely disappointing aswell an absolute waste of our travel time. Will be sure to share our negative experience. Never in my life have I ever visited a winery and declined if food wasn't served with it!! Don't bother visiting this place, based on other negative reviews, it looks like a common trend of poor customer service.

We had lunch at the Home Hill Winery today. I’m so glad we booked as we witnessed numerous people turned away. We arrived an hour early to experience wine tasting before a 3 course lunch. The meals were generous, delicious and wonderfully presented. The cost was very reasonable. I need to mention the service .. possibly the best I’ve experienced anywhere in the world. If you are visiting Tasmania and want to take a loved one to a special restaurant, I recommend the Home Hill restaurant and winery.

Yelp
What a gem in the Huon Valley! I was on a search of the Centurion the tallest eucalyptus tree on earth. Defeated by the forest fire earlier on of the year, I found myself to be at Home Hill's beautifully architected restaurant building. I lived in napa for 1 year and this makes napa looks overrated. It reminded of the Kaiser estate in Tahoe where godfather part II was shot... Had just a snack and their pinot noir....Dover grilled octopus, mint, cucumber kimchi relish. The plate was curated. Service was fantastic. Wonderful hidden gem before Hobart!

Yelp
What an absolute privilege to meet the wine maker at Taste of Tasmania and have fantastic Pinot Noir. Short review, but really glad for this discovery.

Yelp
I went here this morning for a tasting and to purchase a couple bottles, I left pretty frustrated actually, I really enjoy a humble, friendly, fun wine tasting experience where I get told a story about the wine im tasting. Unfortunately I received the total opposite at Home Hill! I got a "hi", "this is the Pinot Noir" and very tiny taste at that! For $45-75 per bottle a little CUSTOMER SERVICE would be nice! Also I asked if they had any previous vintages for sale, the lady said No, but i can sell you one at the RESTAURANT price?!? So yes it was available then, but would a pay the restaurant price when I have taken the time to drive to the winery to make my purchases! Overall I did buy 2 bottles however I will not return anytime soon.

Yelp
We arrived for lunch having booked by phone. Bread brought to the table and orders taken , nearly an hour later we inquired about our meal, immediately it appeared. How long it had been waiting for someone to serve us , difficult to tell. Food was okay but nothing special and very ordinary presentation. Wine ordered with the meal and it was lovely except for the outrageous restaurant mark up, nearly 50% on a $40 bottle, expensive way of getting someone to undo the screw cap for us. There is a disabled access but surprisingly neither toilet caters for a disabled person. Would buy the wines but unlikely to revisit the restaurant.
