Some people would call this hood sketchy, I'd call it convenient. It's dead central and an easy walk to the train station (where the Flytoget Airport Express train will whisk you after you land at Oslo airport).
The breakfast (included in the room rate) is breathtaking: smoothies, pancakes, eggs, sausages, bacon, baked beans, cold cuts, cheese, fruits, vegetables, a bakery like assortment of bread, every kind of spread you can imagine to put on all that bread, really nice tea, yogurt and it just goes on and on from there. They do not mess around with breakfast and there is an overwhelming sense they absolutely revere the adage about it being the most important meal of the day.
A light buffet in the early evening is also included in the room rate and is especially nice when you're in meetings all day. However, it's not nearly as bountiful nor inspired as the breakfast offerings but there will be soup, one entree with an accompanying carb, as well as salad. Drinks are available for purchase. I recommend taking your food upstairs, the view from there is nice and for some reason everyone else just crams into the tables near the food.
The wifi is annoying because it requires a code that's constantly changing. I wish hotels everywhere would just put a password on it and call it a day!
Just outside the hotel is a statue of Kate Moss in a rather challenging yoga pose entitled "Sphinx" by London artist Marc Quinn. I'll let you make up your own mind on that particular work. . .
This is a hotel full of extras. You definitely feel like you get what you pay for (and like everything in Oslo, you will pay a lot). If you're easily claustrophobic it's worth trading up a room category or two as the cheapest rooms are very, very tiny.
