Average score should be higher. Hotel is renewed, but the biggest advantage is hotelstaff. Small parking, but you can park for only 150kr per day, while rest of city is 250-300kr. Hotel has conference rooms and good gym. Grimstad is nicer city than we thought. That was amazing stay.

I really appreciated Clarion because it’s in the city Center, clean rooms, helpful staff. For meals we had just a few types of food but they were delicious. Pay attention to the parking spaces - almost none available on the streets. We parked at the church - free parking between 8 PM and 9 AM.

Visited this hotel January 2023. Very friendly and service oriented staff. Reasonable price incl good breakfast, and in my opinon a unique hotel in terms of recepteion area and how "outdoor buildings / houses" have been "built together" with a fantastic design and construction,|giving me an "outdoor feeling" with a transparent roof enabling daylight to brighten up the area and at the same time having the good and warm inside temperature.

The thermostat is a placebo, observe that when you have a cold bathroom, you can adjust the temperature to 25°C wait a few hours, and the thermostat will display 25°C , same for 38°C , but the bath and the floor will remain cold. It simulated a slow temperature rise, sneaky. Reported to the reception, but the issue was not addressed, no response received.

It is as expected from a brand like Scandic, you get your moneys worth. The rooms are tidy and elegant. Booking and accomodation from staff was smooth and easy, no trobles. Parking was a little interesteing, you get to park on from of the hotell to get your bags out, but then you have to drive 5 min to a parking ground witch is free and only a 3-4 min walk away from the hotell.

Scandic Hotel Grimstad is centrally located on the main square of Grimstad, within walking distance of restaurants, bars, shopping and the city's attractions. The hotel offers parking in its own garage for a fee. The guest room appeared inviting and consisted of a sitting area, desk, refrigerator, flat screen TV and great views of the sea and Grimstad city. The beds were good, but the mattresses could have been a bit harder for my liking. The cleanliness and maintenance were very good. The bathroom was well maintained, clean and inviting. The hotel's common areas appeared to be well-kept, clean and had an inviting and cozy feel. The hotel's roof terrace had a wonderful view of the sea and the city. Breakfast was served as a buffet and had a rich selection of both hot and cold dishes. Fried bacon and a selection of local specialties had topped the experience. The staff appeared friendly but somewhat reserved. Some more interest and commitment for the guests had helped to elevate the overall experience. I would recommend the hotel to other travelers and I will use the hotel next time I am in Grimstad.

Very nice hotel in the center of Grimstad. The room was nice, with a good view. Though it is within walking distance of several restaurants and bars, it was quiet. The breakfast was, as with many Scandic hotels, excellent. We were able to park for free at a nearby church, a 5 min walk away.

It is located very close to Grimstad Kirke, and really close to many restaurants. The hotel does not manage their own parking so you need to check that. Breakfast starts at 07.30 am and that is not convenient for a business traveler. The reception was super nice and helpful.
