We spent 3 nights in Motherhome. With some minor exception, everything was very good, better than what you would expect from a 2 star Guesthouse in Cambodia. The staff was very kind, upon arriving we got cold handtowels and some welcome drink. The room was a bit old,but clean, and cozy. Already before the trip I asked them by email if they could deliver us a bottle of sparkling wine to our room as we had our anniversary with my boyfriend and I wanted to surprise him. They were very helpful and cooperative. The breakfast was ok,mostly Asian, but better than the breakfast in the 4star hotel in Phnom Penh. We booked a sunrise Angkor tour (by tuk tuk) it went really well. WiFi was not really good. They changed towels every day, but on third night my new towel looked dirty, even though it was washed. It must have been some old spot, but I didn't want to use it,instead I used my own towel. Once they forgot to give toilet paper, but it was quickly fixed.

The Hotel Staff show extreme Hospitality and assist us when ever we ask for any kind of help. My elderly relatives faced some problems with Visa while coming back to Singapore at the airport and had to go back to Hotel to stay for one more day. The Hotel Staff (Kongkea) helped a lot in extending their stay at almost the same price and went out of his normal routine work and took personal interest in assisting by elderly relatives get Boarding Pass Printouts and made sure they feel comfortable. I can never forget this help for this gentlemen.||Apart from this, the Hotel in clean and sufficient to stay for 3-4 days easily. Hotel staff will also arrange for Tuk Tuk or Taxi, if you ask for their assistance. We took Tuk Tuk at a nominal price of 15USD for each day trip with Hotel staff assistance.||Hotel staff even arranged packed free breakfast (by understanding our requirements of completely vegetarian food) for us as we wanted to leave early to Angkor wat to see the Sun rise.||Wifi connectivity is good. Free Break fast every day, They did provide us with a electric kettle in the room for us to have coffee or tea anytime we want, A welcome drink as soon as you enter the Hotel, Free Airport Pickup (no free airport drop), Wetted Mint Clothing to refresh yourself when ever you come in from Hot sun outside. We had even asked for extra bed (thru agoda.com) for couple of nights which they had arranged at a cost of 10 USD, Good communication thru email once you book the Hotel for confirmation. Around 1.2 Kms from City Centre (Night Market) so it is not noisy here, Provisional Stores available just next door to purchase milk, yogurt, coconut water, fruits, chocolates, biscuits etc...||Overall a good experience for 20 USD + 10 USD (for extra bed)||You may also use massage and Spa here, but we never opted for it.||Note : There is no scenic beauty that you can see from Hotel. No Lift and No elevators. Only Stairways.

As their slogan says "At MotherHome you are genuinely cared for". I would really attest to that as we really felt so cared for during our stay. Most of the hotels are fully booked already due to the holiday season so we made last minute booking here, and I'm glad we did.||||The room & amenities: Nothing fancy but it has basic amenities, inclusive of wifi. There was problem with our aircon on the night we arrived, but they immediately fixed it. Our room was on the ground floor and I can't remember hearing loud noises at night as my sleep was so peaceful during our stay. Breakfast was also inclusive and I'd say, it's pretty decent given that this is a budget stay.||||The location: It's not close to the main road so I think it's one of the reasons why it's quite at night. There are no nearby convenience stores but you can always walk a bit and you will be able to find food stalls. Just be careful at night as the alleys don't have much lamp posts so it's a bit dark. You can also hire TukTuk and they can pick you up from the guesthouse.||||The service: I think their service is really the reason why a lot of people go here. Their staff are really friendly and helpful. Some of them may struggle to speak English, but they will really try to attend to your needs. Our schedule was a bit tight and we had to check out early and go on a tour. They allowed us to leave our luggage at no extra charge. ||||We were scheduled to take the night bus en route to Phnom Penh but we came back a bit early as it was too hot outside. We asked the staff if there's any available room that we can take for us to rest while we're waiting for our bus to Phom Penh. Unfortunately, they were fully booked already but the staff told us that we can stay in the lobby. Few minutes after, their staff came back with hot towel and tea. They also told us that there's a shower room at the back that we can use if we want to freshen up. How good can that be?||||It was a pleasant experience overall and I would recommend this place to anyone hunting for guesthouse.

We had a really pleasant 5 night stay here. The accomodation offered ample size rooms, that were nice and cool overnight with just a fan. The staff were helpful in letting us check in early as the room was free without extra charge. They offered a number of onward transport options and helped to book a bus back to phnom penh. Overall this is a great value for money place to stay! They also have a bunch of pet cats which were fun to get to know! They also have free filtered water at reception.

The place and breakfast is good. When we arrived the AC in our room is not working but it was quickly fixed. And what really caught my attention most is on how helpful and caring they are. After we checked out, they let us stay at the hotel lobby for 4hrs while waiting for our bus sched going to Phonm Penh and they even offered us water and cold handtowels.

In 2012 my wife and I had the privilege of being guests for a period of 3 weeks at the MotherHome Guest House and were extremely impressed with the excellency of service and Khmer hospitality and honor. ||We were so impressed we told many of the great impression we were left with and posted a very good Trip Advisor Report accordingly. ||||In 2013 we again took the opportunity of being guests however on that occasion we were disturbed by the rowdiness of the the other guests who were mainly short term Chinese stayers and I advised the owner of our disappointment and did not post a favorable report. However I did withdraw that unfavorable report so as not to bring bad news for the owner and the MotherHome Guest House. ||||This year 2016 my wife and I and two other ladies we brought with us were extremely disappointed at how bad things had become. ||It would seem that the management of this MotherHome Guest House has deteriorated very badly and it is something that I made the owner be aware of. ||||On 28/6/2015 I made reservations for 3 rooms with specific instructions with a guarantee that 2 rooms would be adjoining. ||The dates of occupancy were to be 25th. January to 12th Feb 2016 so I had booked and received confirmation some 7 months well in advance. ||However when we arrive on Monday 25th. January we were told that we could not occupy the rooms we had reserved on the ground floor as they were occupied by other guests. As my wife and I are approaching 80 yrs we refused to have to climb the stairs and this became an extremely embarrassing situation for us. We had received a number of confirmations but upon arrival that confirmation was broken which was a very embarrassing start for us. ||During our stay, we noticed many changes had taken place and the high quality and standard we had previously experienced was no longer there. ||Our team of four experienced, water leaking all over the floor, squeaky door, no fridge, security safe not bolted down, bed bugs, mice running through our room and have had to have a number of room changes.||The foam mattress had chunks out of it as well.||Because we have used Motherhome Guest House on our last 3 visits to cambodia and stay at the GuestHouse for up to 3 weeks each time we are certainly in a position to authenticate how poorly the statandard has become since our first visit in 2012.

A nice enough guesthouse. But there seems to be some confusion in your reviews between this guesthouse and the Mother Home Inn. This place does not have a pool on site. Your welcome to use the pool at the Inn which is about a km away.|| The staff vitally insisted that they book our forwarding bus ticket to Bangkok. I made it very clear that we wanted the expensive ( relatively) $28.00 bus that takes you right thru to Bangkok. Staff assured me that this is what had been done, but on the morning of departure we we taken to the border in a chicken bus, dumped off, and crammed into a mini van on the Thai side.||Don't know if the travel agent the guesthouse is using is doing the scam on their own or if the staff guesthouse is in on it too. Anyway, odds are you won't get what you pay for if you don't do the booking yourself,

As the title suggests we checked in here and we're in 3 different rooms in 24 hours. I'll start off by saying the hotel staff is very nice and they did the best they could, this is not a review on them. I can only deduce from my experience that the hotel is under poor management and not properly maintained. |Our first room was nice until the A/C unit started spraying water all over the floor. Luckily I didn't have any of my belongings near when that happened.|I wrote that one off to bad luck maybe one bad unit and reluctantly changed rooms. They included a fruit plate along with an apology which I thought was nice.|My second room was promising , pretty clean and a really nice room. After an exhausting day of walking around I came back to find my A/C wasn't working in my new room. I called the front desk and they poked around and went on the roof but no luck. The staff then offered me another room. After unpacking, packing up, then unpacking again I couldn't bare the idea of moving rooms again. I was so upset by that point I couldn't even speak with the staff, I needed a few minutes to myself. I came to the realization that I really didn't have a choice in the matter, I could stay miserable in my hot room or accept this 3rd room that is being offered. Feeling utterly defeated, covered in sweat, and in desperate need of a shower I packed my bags again and went to my new-new room. This room was nice and the A/C worked great, everything seemed good and I was in the mood to watch some TV and just try and move on from what happened. Then the power goes out. I started laughing, laying in bed feeling completely insane at this point. Once the power came back on the TV didn't work. The staff said the TV service was out all over town, that couldn't be true because straight outside my window was a window in a home and they had TV working fine after the power outage. I'm thinking the cable/satellite tuner just wasn't turned on. Anyways that's just speculation. Again the staff brought me a fruit plate to apologize for the room change etc. at this pony I felt bad because I know the staff is doing probably the best they can but another fruit plate wasn't going to fix it this time. I've worked in the hospitality industry at hotels for 3 years and after that amount of upset to a guest I was expecting a free dinner at least if not my night's stay free. None of that was offered as a recovery. ||When I checked in I was thinking 4 or 5 stars for sure seeing all the good reviews and having a good first impression when I checked in. The lack of maintenance and managerial oversight resulted in me feeling like I was being carted around the hotel from room to room packing my bags over and over. |The simplest solution I can provide as feedback is to have a senior staff member check guests' rooms prior to check-in. Verify everything is working properly and perform regular maintenance on all of the utilities in the room. |I felt saddened by my negative experience because this place really does have a lot of potential: the rooms are nice, kind staff, decent location, clean facilities; it's just totally lost on poor management.
