I stay in Hilton properties for business, at least 1-2 times a month. I'm a huge fan of Hilton properties, and their hotels are generally just as clean, if not a step above their competition. Albeit a new(er) property, unfortunately this Home 2 Suites missed the mark.
When away from the wife, and kiddos on business, I look forward to sleeping in a King bed, in peace, sans fussy kids, and a dog sprawled out all over us. Sure, I'm away for work, but its like Heaven. When I checked in, at 3P (You know, standard hotel check-in time), the Front Desk Agent said there weren't any available King rooms, even though my email confirmation clearly stated "King." Ok, I could understand, if I checked in early, and when this happens, it's on me- not the fault of the hotel. But- this is the fault of the hotel. It's incompetence, and falls directly upon Management, in my view.
After checking in to my room, I needed to work. Internet is usually very reliable at Hilton properties. I've never had an issue. Ever. At this Home 2 Suites, the internet simply didn't work. (Room #217). I spoke to Justin, and he insinuated that I wasn't following the instructions properly. Ok, again, whatever, and I didn't have time to argue with him. I'd have an IQ comparison with Justin, but I digress. I managed to get the majority of my work done on my phone. Fun, indeed!
The next morning, still groggy from an uncomfortable twin bed, and walls that seem paper thin, I stroll down to the lobby computers. Again, no freakin' internet. Ugh, I go to the Front Desk, and she, in a condescending tone, accused me of not being astute enough to comprehend basic computer skills. I told her to try. She did, and then mumbled something about my last name is too long; therefore, I cannot log in. What!? I've stayed at Hilton properties over 50 times in the past few years, and you give me some BS excuse. No- the internet simply isn't functioning properly!
Horribly managed property, but a great location. Never again.
