Homeground Coffee + Kitchen

We visited Homeground in Windermere after being recommended it and honestly, it lived up to everything we’d heard. Me and my friends travelled up from Norfolk and it ended up being one of the best brunches we’ve had anywhere in the UK. The sourdough (locally sourced from Lovingly Artisan) was unreal — you can really taste the quality. I had the ricotta waffles with brûléed banana and the sauces worked so well together without being overly sweet. We also tried the Eggs Benedict and Eggs Royale, and they were on another level. Proper thick bacon chop and a whole house-smoked salmon fillet, not the usual thin slices. The food was worth the wait and the staff were genuinely lovely and welcoming, which just made the whole experience even better. If you’re in Windermere, this place is 100% worth a visit.

I had one of the best cakes at this café. The brunch was amazing too — especially the avocado and eggs. The staff are lovely, and the place has such a warm and welcoming vibe. Just keep in mind that many people love this spot, so there’s usually a queue of at least 15 minutes, especially on weekends! 🍰✨

Homeground Coffee is a must try! We couldn’t resist their cake selection, all the cakes were beyond exceptional. As for their coffee, it has a perfectly strong taste. The cafe has a great location, right in the middle of the city center. I will definitely be returning!

Oh excellent food! Each & every dish we ordered was made to perfection. The tase was par excellence. Cheese was too good and the breads were freshly baked. Food had soul. The owners were very warm, the place is very nice. It's a small cafe but wonderful food. One of the best in Windermere.

Amazing brunch/lunch Best bacon waffles I’ve had- the brûlée banana & the crispy bacon were outstanding Partner’s eggs royale were also great! Waited around 10 minutes outside for a table but was well worth it. Would happy return next time we’re in the area.

An insanely good breakfast and brunch cafe in Windermere! Just a few minutes walk from the train station, this is the best brunch me and my girlfriend had on our Lake District trip. So much so that we had breakfast here 3 times in a row! The chef must use some sort of magic to make the food so flavorful! A must visit for bread lovers!

This is probably the local fav among all cafes in Windermere, coz that queue is all day long. Takes time to get in, but the food is top notch. Service is slow. The avocado toast with eggs and coffee were both good. But the banana bread and hash browns were the real stars, truly delightful. We had the cute seating by the window and enjoyed the views too. Takes time to get a table and to get the food, so go when you have time to spare!

Nice place to have brunch- the wait times are crazy but centre of Windermere so can’t complain too much. Prices are pretty high but food is actually really good- would re-visit if in the area but there are other brunch / food options in the area that have better quality food for similar prices.
