We visited Homeground in Windermere after being recommended it and honestly, it lived up to everything we’d heard. Me and my friends travelled up from Norfolk and it ended up being one of the best brunches we’ve had anywhere in the UK.
The sourdough (locally sourced from Lovingly Artisan) was unreal — you can really taste the quality. I had the ricotta waffles with brûléed banana and the sauces worked so well together without being overly sweet. We also tried the Eggs Benedict and Eggs Royale, and they were on another level. Proper thick bacon chop and a whole house-smoked salmon fillet, not the usual thin slices.
The food was worth the wait and the staff were genuinely lovely and welcoming, which just made the whole experience even better. If you’re in Windermere, this place is 100% worth a visit.
