ALL TYPES OF YES! Came here on a Saturday morning and I must say I had an amazing experience. They have a parking lot out front although it isn’t big so if you come when it’s busy you’ll have to find parking elsewhere. As soon as you enter the door there’s the hostess station and the restaurant is an L shape with a larger amount of seating off to the left and the kitchen. The restaurant was pretty empty in the AM so if you’re able I recommend going early because it was reaching full capacity by 9am. I ordered the coffee cake & a cold brew, the pork hash, and a to go order of bacon and biscuits & gravy. I absolutely recommend getting the coffee cake! It came out steaming and was so delicious. I recommend the caramel sauce on the side as it kept well so I could eat more later. The cold brew was delicious, strong enough for an AM kick without being harsh. The hash was very good I recommend adding hot sauce on it. Everything we ate was so good! My waitress was great, allowed me to take my time enjoying my food & helping me with what to order. I will absolutely be back!

Cheyenne was amazing!!!!! Best service i've had in a long time. I'm gluten free and their gluten free pancakes were some of the best i've ever eaten! Omelette was so fluffy and cranberry lemonade was very yummy! Will be my first stop next time i'm in town!!!

Stumbled upon this place for brunch thanks to Google. Was not disappointed! Service was speedy and every employee was super kind (their shirts mention it too!) Love that they offer an online waitlist you can sign up for. We ordered the coffee cake to share - a MUST. So good and they weren’t kidding in the description that it’s a “generous slice”. Honestly, all of their portions were generous. Great bang for your buck. 10/10 recommend.

We were visiting from out of town and fell in love with this little place. Beautiful part of town and great ambience inside the restaurant. Everything on the menu sounded delicious and everything that passed our table looked fantastic. My spouse ordered a coffee drink called the Honey Bee and it was amazing. Both of us liked what we ordered, and I especially liked her French toast. I took a star off of my review because my meal was served only slightly warm. They were extremely busy so I'm going to cut them a little slack, but my eggs were more Over Medium than Over Easy, and my gravy had cooled quite a bit. We would recommend it anyway and judging by the crowd in the place when we left, I think this is a very popular spot in town. The staff was also very friendly.

My to go order was poorly packaged, not sealed, and missing items. Considering the price I’d expect better portion sized for the sides. Biscuit was shredded into pieces instead of cut in half.

I will happily change my 1 star to a 5 star when I receive 5-star service again. I used to enjoy this location and have recommended it to others, but yesterday was very disappointing. The gluten-free pancakes were under par (even the waitress admitted this due to a new chef), and the breakfast potatoes were burnt. When we asked for more, they didn’t arrive until after we had already finished eating. Service was also lacking. The waitress’s attitude shifted once I asked about a discount, and instead of the manager coming over to address it, only $2 was taken off the bill—which didn’t even cover the gluten-free upcharge. For now, I’ll stick to the Leawood or downtown locations. If I ever change this one-star review, it will be because I received true five-star service and management made the effort to reach out.

Just driving around checking out someone the neighborhoods, we stumbled across this quaint restaurant about noon on a Sunday. It was busy (good chance the food is good). A short wait for a table, the food and service was fantastic. The chicken salad sandwich was a winner here. Also, they serve local community items like Messenger Coffee, also my favorite this weekend.

We got to dine in and grab some take-out from Homegrown. It is a trendy upscale farm-to-table eatery that won't disappoint. Everything had a pleasing rich flavour and the staff were great.

The food and service is excellent. The environment is a little loud. However, I guess that is to be expected with all of the exciting food odors and culinary experiences happening there from the time they open until they close for the day.

We came here not once but twice for brunch on our trip to Kansas City. Their tagline "we cultivate kindness" seemed quite true from the friendly service and warm atmosphere. Booths and seating are very abundant, but on a Saturday morning it's still quite crowded. The menu truly has something for everyone whether you're looking for something on the healthier side or the more indulgent. We went healthier, getting omelettes, or the build your own breakfast with a meat. Eggs were done well, the meat was on the drier side. We also saw many of the other dishes, which also looked delicious. A perfect spot for brunch in KC.

Service was great! Food was just not exciting, as long as we had to wait, to get seated, then get our food. It just didn't feel it was worth the hype. My table mates enjoyed their dishes, but one of them did say, they'd rather have their regular at the competition than the plate they chose at HomeGrown today. Similarly they have seasonal items, fancy drinks to promote and literally the same vibes. I feel like a competition restaurant was right around the corner and I might have gotten in and out of there a little faster. Would I come back? Sure, if we beat the wait.

We went for Sunday breakfast. Our server was Velamir. He was great- so knowledgeable about the menu, so friendly and we had great service. Restaurant was busy but there was no wait. Food was excellent. We ordered the BLT.A.E, Lemon French toast, Biscuits and Gravy, and the lemon ricotta pancakes. All were excellent. The French toast is so good- the texture was perfect. It's a very sweet dish. The pancakes were less sweet but also very good. The eggs were cooked perfectly. The BLT was great.

The food was flavorful and delicious. It cost me only $25 for my Peach Bellini and Pumpkin Bread French Toast with eggs and ham. The service was great, the sever was attentive.

Great food and great, attentive wait staff! I love the cinnamon roll French toast. I have visited often and will continue to do so.

At this point I've had almost everything on the menu and everything is consistently fabulous (including the service). I can't recommend this place enough! If you're going for the first time gotta get the coffee cake. Pro tip: get a mimosa with the green juice. It's basically healthy you're welcome.

One of the nicest local restaurants I have been to in a while! Service is impeccable, food quite good as well. Have been here several times and highly recommend. We will definitely be back

Always good quality food in my experience. I got the BLT A&E with the egg over easy. Cooked as ordered and extremely tasty with high quality bacon. The side of fruit was legit as well. Service was just adequate as she was very busy and a little forgetful, but did not negatively impact our experience. No doubt will go here again.

I've been waiting 2 years to try this place. Finally got it with my wife and three girls after church. Yes it was good. Yes for what you got it was a little pricey. Everything was good. Very similar to First Watch. I've never had a bad experience at FW. The service was ok. We were the last group served so maybe there were tired. I'd check out some other breakfast places in KC before I go back there.

Homegrown is a great local brunch option in Brookside! The Poptarts are a great starter and have to recommend the Blueberry Poptarts! Our server was very friendly and she always made sure we were getting attention we needed. The overall location is a perfect modern brunch place. Gets a little loud on the weekends and would recommend getting on the waitlist before coming! I will be coming back for sure! (To many other good entrees that I would like to try)

First time eating here. The good was so good. Everything is fresh made and local. Make sure you order the coffee cake to share (or not) with the table. Enjoy the play on words in the menu. We will be going back.

My server, Kenny, was awesome. And I like the concept of locally sourced, freshly cooked-to-order food. Unfortunately, the food was not awesome. My bacon was overcooked (I asked for crisp, but one slice was totally burned), and both the bacon and eggs arrived lukewarm. I really expected to love the special Pumpkin Bread French Toast, as it was the whole reason I decided to eat there, but the slice was about 1.5" thick, so more like just a piece of cake, and there was no evidence in the prep that it was "French toast"....it was not "battered and griddled." And the toppings made it too sweet for even the diehard sugar fiend that I am. Kenny took the bacon and eggs to be redone, but the second try wasn't much hotter than the first. The bacon was not overcooked, but it and the eggs were again lukewarm. Perhaps she was kept too busy to be able to get to the food delivered soon after it was cooked. After 2 "strikes," I may give HomeGrown a third try, but not anytime soon.

Great ambience and a friendly staff. Loved the location and the menu options. It was very busy so my food came out a little less than hot, but I still enjoyed my meal. My spouse loved hers even more and I found myself drooling over all of the food that passed our table. I will try it again the next time I'm in town.

We made a stop at HomeGrown for breakfast on a recent trip to KCMO. I highly recommend using the Yelp "waiting list" feature to join the line before you arrive! We started with the nutella "popheart" and coffee cake. Both were very good, but the nutella popheart was my clear favorite. I had the BYOB with over medium eggs, bacon, an English muffin, and the rosemary potatoes. The eggs were definitely over easy, but this isn't an issue that is exclusive to HomeGrown. The bacon was cooked well, and the English muffin was very fluffy and came with a delicious jam. We enjoyed our meal, but I don't think I would put it at the top of my list brunch spots in KC.

Wow what a gem of you love breakfast, lunch or brunch. The staff is friendly and amazing. The ambience to me is family. The weekends may be a wait but so worth it. All the food looked delicious including the homemade tarts. You have coffee, tea and for those thirsty adults mimosas, margaritas and Pina coladas. Try it out you may just love it!

Great experience here this morning! Went right when they opened at 7am with no wait to sit with a buddy of mine. Since it was just opening not a lot of people were there which made the environment more relaxed. Our server was kind and timely throughout. We both ordered "Gimme the meats" omelette and it was great! Definitely bang for your buck when it comes to meat but also having a bread with jelly on the side gave it a simple and sweet add to the plate. Overall really enjoyed it!

Was here on the Saturday before St Patrick's Day. We had made reservations prior to arriving, but were able to get a table without any issues. Being this was most of our groups first time here we had questions. Staff was very helpful with answering questions and giving suggestions. The Homegrown Coffeecake was amazing!! I ordered the biscuits and gravy which came with potatoes and eggs. Was a lot of food for the money. Everything was cooked to perfection. Had also ordered the Irish Hug which was really good.

Wow! What a cute place! I came as an out of towner and this was definitely one place I'd love to come back to when I visit KC next. The atmosphere is so clean and bright and welcoming with super friendly staff. There is classic booth and table seating, along with bar seating by the barista station. I ordered... Iced Honey Bee latte ($6): this is one of the signature lattes at HomeGrown, featuring local honey. Perfectly sweetened! West Coast Wake Up ($12.50): scrambled (or omelette style) eggs with avocado, bacon, tomato and onions. A wonderfully colorful breakfast! I also really enjoyed the English muffin and jam on the side. As I said, I'm an out of towner, so I don't think I'll be back soon but would sure make a stop the next time I visit KC!

I am not a breakfast person but this place hit the spot! Our server was really great. He was attentive and knowledgeable. This location was extremely busy and we joined the waitlist about an hour in advance. The food was definitely worth the wait. It came out quickly, it looked amazing and tasted great!

Wonderful food! We all tried something new to us! The staff is thoughtful, engaging and helpful! Maybe a little noisy for us. But it was all great!

Their lemon pop tarts are my favorite. This place is one for the books. The staff is always a pleasure and kind! The different locations I've been to were all awesome. Great scenery and beautiful sounds.

Great brunch with mom after Dr visit! It was her first visit and she was very impressed with the nice server Taffey she helped mom make her selection. It was her first Cuban sandwich and she really enjoyed the tomato soup with the toasted ciabatta bread! I had the turkey avocado sandwich! I can see me ordering it again! Always the place is light and airy!

Cute breakfast place in the heart of Brookside. Everyone was very friendly and our food came out fast! I had the pumpkin French toast which I highly recommend if you have a sweet tooth. Once slice is pretty big so that's all you really need. The portions were a good size too. Not too big but also the right size for the price. I really liked that they offered espresso drinks and that their coffee comes from messenger. I had the Honey Bee. I saw the tip to use the waitlist in the Yelp app and that worked out well. We maybe waited at the restaurant for 2-3 minutes after joining the waitlist from home.

For Mother's Day my family and I went to HomeGrown Kansas City on Brookside. We were a huge party of 10, so given that plus it being Mother's Day our wait time was over 2 hours; However, the food we received for our whole entire party was amazing and 10's across the board and made for our wait time worth the wait. Each person from the children to the adults enjoyed their food and stated they would return! Our dishes as a whole from children to adults included: Triple play (Funfetti pancakes), and Grilled cheese with chips, Let's make a toast (cinnamon swirl french toast), It takes the cake (pancakes), BYOB (Build your own breakfast), and The iron man (egg white omelette).

We dined around 9am on a Wednesday. The place was busy, we waited about 5 minutes for a table. Once seated, another 5ish minute wait. But food turnaround was quick. My boys both got the kids sprinkle pancakes. They were huge! My husband and I eat got a special breakfast and they were delish! The lavender latte was also great!

We did not have to wait too long. When they started to seat us at a booth, and I requested a table, they accommodated immediately! The food was very good --especially the coffee cake. The service was excellent! The ambiance of the restaurant was cheerful and clean, especially by the window where we sat. I only have two complaints--the noise level was quite high, which made it difficult for us seniors to talk and it was too COLD in the restaurant. Even the hostess was freezing. I do not know why they did not turn down the air conditioning! The cold put a damper on the overall experience, which would have been a five!

We ordered ours to go & they had it ready within 15 minutes. My BLTA+ egg was fresh & flavorful. I would maybe swap my multigrain bread out for white bread but it really was good. I liked the garlic aioli touch. My husband liked their biscuits & gravy okay. Overall we think this is a good little breakfast spot. The inside seemed new & clean.

Not sure why they think it's acceptable to serve turkey ground up into little bits like it's being fed to a rodent. What happened to slices I can cut up? The tiny bits make it hard to eat and enjoy. Second time this happened.

Food and experience were 10/10 - one of my favorite breakfast spots in KC. My girlfriend got the Huevos Rancheros and it was great as well. I'll definitely be back here.

How can I give this place anything less than five stars?!? A few of my coworkers got together for breakfast before the days events at our convention and someone selected this top rated breakfast spot. Parking can be tough in their parking area but there is ample street parking so you may have to take a little walk. Upon entering, the restaurant was vibrant, bright, and full of patrons. There were so many meal options that looked great and tasty, it was hard to decide but I settled on a traditional breakfast (eggs, bacon, and pancakes). Also loved the touch on the cappuccino with the bee deco, it's the little things. Great meal and experience.

Wanted to try the new location, looks great. Wait staff were amazing orders came out quick. Pop tarts 3/5 too rich for me, nice flaky crust Benny 3/5 biscuits were amazing the sausage was a little under cooked and the gravy had a nice bite but lacked flavor Curry 4/5 Coffee 3/5 If you have not been come try them I love the verde dish and coffee cake.

This is an incredible breakfast/ brunch spot in Brookside, Kansas City. I highly recommend getting on Yelp and adding yourself to the waitlist before arriving. It always makes our wait so much shorter. I recently ordered the Croissant French Toast and it is... SO good. The coffee is Messenger coffee, so I also had to get a latte. There's a variety of booth and table seating options. We received friendly and quick service, and the way it for food wasn't long at all. We will definitely be back!

Seasonal menu options are always delicious! Service is consistently wonderful - there's a reason you need to join a waitlist to get a table. Try the grilled cheese or coffee cake and you'll leave happy.

Fresh, gluten free options. Can't go wrong with the homemade cocoa in the winter and the lemonade in the summer .

I ordered take out through Postmates. I never received the coffee I ordered and paid for and my poached eggs had shells in them. I don't even understand how it's possible to have shells in a poached egg.

Service was very good. The juice I had, which was a mix of apple, celery and other stuff was excellent. I really appreciate the fact it was open at 6:30 am. Nothing is open that early. The food was average. It was fresh, tasty but nothing spectacular. Overall not that expensive. If I was back in Kansas City I would return.

Lovely place with delicious food. Beautiful decor and gracious staff. We were seated quickly and server greeted us quickly and food arrived -yes, quickly. Oh, and the women's restroom is adorable. Bacon and eggs with rosemary potatoes with an English muffin! Yummy. I ventured and got the sunshine margarita. Yummy yummy. Hubby got the meat lovers omelet. It has gravy - he loved it although it didn't look appetizing to me. There was something about the coffee I didn't like/a little bitter perhaps? Parking lot to the side and street parking too. I loved this place.

Food is exceptional and the service is impeccable. By far the best breakfast in Kansas City. Sadly, the bacon and the pophearts, especially given their price, are terrible

I've been wanting to try HomeGrown for a while so I was thrilled when some old friends were in town and wanted somewhere to eat lunch in the city. HomeGrown is located in Brookside, and caters to a breakfast and lunch crowd. I'd say this place is probably packed for weekend brunch. For a mid-week lunch though, it was super easy to pop in and have a casual bite. Now I went back and forth between 4 and 5 stars and settled with 5 because HomeGrown is, in my opinion, not in the highest echelon of dining category. It's similar to other regional and local favorites, Eggct. and First Watch. In this category HomeGrown really shines as the food I sampled was really delicious, the service well above average, and the environment charming and clean. It's a very well executed concept that would work really well for a brunch with your parents, or a breakfast out with the kids. It has that family friendly atmosphere combined with a really great and fresh tasting menu. I'll be back!

WAITLIST APP FOR THE WIN! Put your name in the app here on Yelp before heading over to save some time on busy mornings. If you have to wait there are shops and other things to see nearby, including a coffee shop around the corner. Parking was good, food was fantastic, people sitting around were pleasant. People were dressed up nice but still a little casual. I thought the price and portions were perfect.

Good food! My kids and I loved it. The confetti pancakes are gimmicky but not necessarily tasty. The home made pop tarts were the highlight of the meal.

Aubrey our server was amazing! Attentive, pleasant and anticipated all our needs. We flew in from Out of State so seeing the wonderful offerings we wanted to try several Wow. Pistachio French Toast, Blueberry Pancakes, Coffee Cake as well as Blueberry Lavender Lemonade. Don't even know where to begin. First time I've traveled to Kansas City but certainly not the last. And when we return this will always be a must stop. The food was amazing, all very well prepared, obviously fresh and full of flavor. I had to try the French toast as well as the coffee cake and they were well worth it. Everything that we ordered was a home run, from the drinks to of course the food. Five star review is certainly not enough and anyone who is considering this place will not regret it. Also want to add that it's a charming place full of atmosphere Sit down relax and enjoy your time here
