Where to eat in Paris, according to one of France's most famous chefs - AFAR

"“Generally, Saturday lunch is really casual and quick, and I love to eat an amazing croque monsieur at La Fontaine de Belleville, or a lobster roll with yuzu mayonnaise at Homer Lobster in St. Germain,” says Frechon." - Jennifer Flowers

We decided to have lunch at this place that makes fish sandwiches. The place is not very big, but they still have seats inside. Tasty sandwiches even if not very big, with different types of fish and also sauces. Fast service, friendly staff and good prices.

The lobster roll was tasty, and the bread was nicely toasted and crispy. I knew it would be just lobster in a bun, so I wasn’t expecting any extras – but the amount of lobster was really minimal. For €20, it was quite disappointing. The flavor was fine, but the price didn’t quite match what I actually got.

Loved the lobster roll!!! It’s delicious and lives up to the TikTok hype. We went late at night so there were no lines. The staff were lovely. If you like lobster roll, this is a must. The bread is especially delicious. Get the big size! The lemonade was also great.

What a delight to meet the owner! He was very inviting, greeted us and was happy to chat about his experience. 10/10 vibe, I especially liked that they made the sandwich right in front of you, and it was fast, with seating and a fun atmosphere playing 2010s feel good American pop music. The service was very friendly. The food was good but not incredible. Perhaps my expectations were too high. I really wanted to love it after seeing so mouth watering videos on TikTok. I arrived right when they opened, and ordered the XL grilled cheese lobster roll. XL is supposed to be extra meat but it was definitely not. The flavors were good, I enjoyed the brioche a lot. It was definitely more seasoned and had more flavor than other lobster rolls I have had but still felt like it was missing something. Notably, ours came without chives. The lobster meat was a bit disappointing. It was slightly dry and mostly small pieces (not big meaty chunks like I saw online) and certainly not an XL portion.

Came here for dinner and it was empty, so not having to wait was nice. The lobster rolls were very rich, but I felt like the salt and butter flavours could have been stronger. The brioches were perfect however. I think the price is a little steep for the size. Otherwise it’s pretty much just a trendy restaurant.

Google
really tasty and high quality food, the different lobster rolls were great but the salmon club sandwich was the standout item - all served on amazing toasted brioche. truffle chips were also a nice side, the cookie was okay. fairly pricey for the serving size but great service and a clean little sandwich shop.

Came to Homer Lobster for the famous lobster roll and it did its job. I went with the classic sauce this time. It was nice, but a bit on the mild side for me, so I’d probably try a different one next time for more flavor. What really stood out though was the bread, some of the best brioche I’ve ever had. Soft, buttery, and perfectly toasted. Definitely planning to come back and explore more of the menu. There’s more to try and I’m curious to see what hits even harder

The food was good, but the portions were small and overpriced. We ordered 5 sandwiches with extra lobster for €138. The classic one was the best. As a first-time traveler to France, I wouldn’t recommend this place.

Yelp
Good quality lobster roll Expensive The place looks too much like a fast food place, not the vibe you are looking for when you are in Paris You can eat in a cute bistro for the same price But if you are from the northeast and in Paris and you crave a lobster roll this will be good!

Yelp
We came to the area for another restaurant but they were closed so we walked around the block, I saw they had lobster rolls (which is one of my favorites) so we decided to give it a try. I was a little reluctant because no one was patronizing but figured maybe they just opened. The young lady at the register was kind and explained the menu and offered suggestions. We order Norma lobster rolls (which was plenty) one with Connecticut sauce and the other with Mizo sauce and salt & vinegar chips. Simple preparation; lobster rolls done right! It's easily the 3rd best lobster roll I've ever had. I just wish they served French fries as a side rather than potato chips. Homer is a cute and quaint hip eatery. They played the best music...I couldn't help but sing along and dance a little. If your looking for a quick, easy, delicious meal stop by and try them out.

Yelp
I love lobster so much that I made this my first meal in Paris. I prefer my lobster warm or hot but the broche bun makes up for it. The most delicious bread I have ever had.

Yelp
I've been to both Baltimore and Boston, and this is still one of the best lobster rolls I've ever had. A lot of lobster rolls in the US are made and then dipped in butter, often creating a messy situation where you can't even taste the lobster. At Homer, the bread is lightly buttered so it softens the bread while still having a crisp, and the butter compliments the flavor instead of overpowering it. If you're from the east coast of the US, I would strongly recommend trying Homer out to see the Parisien take on a classic from that region.

Yelp
I mean what else can you ask for, 4 different types of lobster rolls, we tried two and they were equally delicious. The bread was soft and perfect. Yes it's a pricey lunch but it was very fast and what we needed at the time!

Yelp
I'd be lying if I said I wasn't a fan of Homer's lobster roll. They use fresh ingredients and the bread itself is to die for. Not what I imagined myself to be eating in Paris but hey, it was legit! As good as any good lobster roll I've had in the States. They even won an award for their lobster rolls and display it proudly by the cashier. One thing -- I got the yuzu lobster roll XL and ate it up in less than a minute. Sure, it being yummy played a factor but it was also so so small of a portion. Imagine spending 23 euros on a lobster roll that can fit in the palm of your hand! Maybe lobster is just that much more expensive in Paris -- what do I know about local lobster prices. Anyway, I can't say that I would personally be returning at that price point. I left the shop wanting more, hungry, and with a hurt wallet. :( Tip: NO RESTROOMS

Yelp
I am pretty much a lobster roll junkie. When I go back to the US where I grew up (East coast and right on the ocean), I eat at least one lobster roll a day, sometimes two. So I was thrilled that a place that won an award in Portland, Maine had opened in Paris where I frequently visit from Switzerland. My friends (one who grew up in our same ocean-side town) and I went to Rambuteau first. One ordered the Asian roll (not sure of the name), the other New Englander got the traditional with mayo and I ordered the Connecticut which is supposed to be served tossed in melted butter. Which it was. But also with a TON of mayo! Now anyone who knows me knows how much I detest mayonnaise. I think it is a blight on the universe. So if you are going to put mayo on something, please tell in advance. It was not listed as an ingredient in the CT roll and in actual CT it is never on the roll. Never. Ever. Butter only. Then two days later I went alone to the Odéon shop and ordered the grilled cheese and lobster sandwich and almost fainted when I saw them putting mayo on the bread. Mayo on a grilled cheese sandwich? Nope, just nope. So I did end up getting a non-mayo grilled cheese and lobster and loved it. I'm even going to suggest it at my favorite New England ocean-side clam/lobster shack. Only suggestion for Homer, let the cheese get a little more melty and you won't need the mayo. I'll definitely go back here. The staff is super friendly and helpful.

Yelp
Excellent lobster rolls, perhaps the best I had ever eaten. Some friends and I had just gotten off the train from CDG and needed a quick bite to eat. Super friendly, accommodating for several people. The rolls were excellent. Lightly buttered roll with lightly dressed lobster, hint of lime, chives on top. Excellent. Will definitely come back the next time I am in Paris.
