"Homewood Park describes itself as ‘eclectic, luxurious, and slightly eccentric,’ and that’s not a bad call. This quintessentially English Georgian country house near Bath is known for its home-away-from-home exquisite rooms, over 10 acres of award-winning gardens, and its spa and outdoor pool, heated to perfection. The latter is gorgeous, perfect for swimming lengths, and through glass doors at one end leads to an indoor hydrotherapy pool. The spa itself has saunas and steam rooms and plenty of high-end treatments on offer from ‘anti-aging rituals’ to a ‘bootcamp for tummies’. But let’s get to the 21 rooms—indulgent, huge double beds, some with hot tubs, all lavishly decorated in individual styles from ultra-modern to lux country with unique statement artworks, Smeg coffee machines and Dyson hairdryers. Add the Olio restaurant serving up fine British classics with a Mediterranean twist and Bob’s your uncle, as the English say. A winner!" - Ramsay Short

Beautiful country house with eclectic interior design. We stayed for two nights for the new year break. We received a warm welcome on arrival and had a very comfortable room on the first floor overlooking the garden. Decor is a fusion of contemporary and art deco. Very comfortable bed. Would have preferred a walk in shower rather than an over bath shower and no safe in the room. We had fresh milk in the fridge and bottled water each day. Food was excellent as was the service from all the waiting staff. All in all a very relaxing break. Unfortunately we didn't have time to use the spa but enjoyed the outdoor activities, despite the poor weather.

We loved our Xmas Treat. Our room was big and had a 2 rooms so perfect with 2 adults & 2 older teen children. Spa was lovely, seemed to be new and so everything was very spick & span. Restaurant was very good & we would have lived to be in a pod. You are just too busy & to popular but we can understand why.

We had the most wonderful festive stay in one of the suites — everything about our experience was exceptional! The room was spacious, and incredibly comfortable. The spa was a real treat, perfect for relaxing after exploring the local area. The food was absolutely delicious, from breakfast to dinner — every meal felt special. A huge thank you to Phoebe, Ed, and Cherry, whose warm hospitality and thoughtful touches made our stay unforgettable. Their attention to detail and genuine care truly set this place apart. We can’t wait to return! Highly recommend for anyone seeking a luxurious and memorable getaway.

Wonderful service at this countryside gem. Highlights include the private hot tub in our fenced off garden, the double roll top baths and the staff kindly ensuring our special request for champagne and flowers in the room. We enjoyed a cocktail in the bar before a delicious steak dinner in the restaurant. The staff at the front desk were particularly helpful and gave great customer service. Recommend this hotel for special trips away - not least for the great spa facilities and beautiful location.

Homewood Hotel at Freshford||||A delightful, fascinating, charming, and probably unique, hotel. So attentively created by an avid collector of oddities and memorabilia. An absolute dream to visit and we enjoyed every moment of our two-night stay, not to mention the half bottle of Champaigne on arrival. ||||Set in the best of glorious English countryside, and just a few miles South of the city of Bath. We were on a 'dinner, bed and breakfast' deal and the dishes matched quirky with traditional and the whole flavour of the place. Our room, on the top floor of the Mews had a country view and fully mirrored shower room. I have never seen anything to match it.||||I met the charming owner and congratulated him on his vision and leadership in pulling this whole spectacular operation together. All the staff were attentive and top notch, particularly Liv and Evie. Stunning, boutique hotel, and certainly a must visit. The total cost for our two nights DB&B was GBP 679.69... so it's a not cheap treat!

Great Hotel - the bad reviews I've seen confuse me! On check in Colin was super friendly and we laughed and joked as he checked us in, he walked us to our room which was in another building as we had booked a Cozy Luxe room and that's in another house a short distance away. Colin was Customer Service Champion for this hotel in my opinion! Well done and keep up your enthusiasm! The room was cozy just like the name but honestly had everything you needed , they gave you really cute Dog welcome pack. There were free sweets throughout your stay , bottles of Sparkling / Still water in the fridge and a small bottle of Milk , Brownies in a little Jar , lovely Tea sachets and a Magimix Coffee maker , wonderful products from BRAMLEY in the bathroom. The quirkiness of the hotel was something I loved , like the Artwork Horse with Cobain / Hendrix / Joplin etc graffitied on it on the way in ! The spa facilities are amazing! And I used these straight after checking in and again the next day as it was so nice I tacked on an extra night and again on the morning of departure. Spa Facilities wise all I'd say is that Maintenance need to do a few things I noticed, I haven't given this feedback (as I only got a feedback request for dining experience) so hopefully management see this - there's a fair few tiles missing on the indoor hydrotherapy pool , the pool liner on the outside pool is coming away at the top, the metal steps in to that same pool are a bit wobbly and a member mentioned to me they were cracking or something. Dinner was good but a couple of minor things that I've given a little feedback on to the hotel privately that didn't affect our stay that much On day 2 I used the spa facilities before my Deep Tissue Massage with Lauren who was amazing, she certainly didn't hold back on the pressure side of things but I have a couple of problem areas so this was great. It's probably the best Massage I've ever had but I was definitely a tad achy for a couple of days but on a good way not a bad way ! Thanks again ! Afternoon tea was delicious ! Left something behind and one of the waiting staff kindly brought it to the room. Check out was easy and I will most definitely stay at this hotel again. It's quite a lot for a night's stay but you honestly get what you pay for here and if you like a hydrotherapy/hydrothermal experience at a hotel you will love this !

Nothing to fault during our stay - staff are all so friendly, efficient and helpful which makes a massive difference. Nothing seemed too much trouble. Bedrooms are fab and food excellent and what a setting! We also visited the spa and had excellent treatments

I had an incredible stay here in October with my parents. The location is delightful, the rooms comfortable and luxurious with all sorts of great little touches like chocolate brownies in the rooms, spacious bathroom with walk in shower and huge bath. We had dinner in the restaurant which was excellent with a good atmosphere. Breakfast was also a pleasure, with great morning views, no rush and high quality. But the best part of our stay was the incredible service from all the team. My parents had become slightly lost finding Homewood due to some road closures but within no time they felt at home and looked after. I hope to come back soon to try some of the spa facilities.
