Hon Ramen

This was definitely one of the better ramen spots we've been to. The broth was so creamy and flavorful. The chasu was made perfectly. We ordered a few drinks and appetizers. The takoyaki was delicious and the chili oil they use for their pot stickers was so good! Music was a little loud. But overall service was very friendly and helpful

Hon Ramen in downtown Bakersfield is outstanding in all classifications. I absolutely loved this place; from the lovely decor, to the vibrant atmosphere, to the very friendly and helpful service, to the delicious ramen and roll. I had the Spicy Tonkatsu Ramen and a Rattlesnake Roll, along with a bottle of apple mango Soonhari soju. Highly recommended.

A hidden gem that I’ll definitely be coming back to. The food was good! I got the chicken ramen. It was freshly made and filling. I also got the Japanese fried chicken. It came to the table hot and crispy. I loved it. I can’t wait to come back to try other items on the menu.

I had an amazing experience at Hon Ramen! The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and the service was quick and attentive. I ordered the Spicy Miso Ramen, and it was absolutely delicious — rich, flavorful broth with the perfect balance of spice, tender noodles, and fresh toppings that brought everything together. Easily one of the best ramen bowls I’ve had in a long time. Definitely a spot I’ll be coming back to and recommending to friends!

I got one of their bowls, so the dish is a ginger, tofu and beef bowl on a bed of steamy rice! That's very hearty and flavorful combination. It's fantastic that the portions are generous, especially with the ample rice, ensuring you'll be completely satisfied after your meal.

Amazing spot for Ramen and sushi. Food is amazing and the staff are incredible. Just a note of caution, during the summer it can get warm inside.

First time there husband and I enjoyed everything. Food was amazing. Drinks was sooo good. Jenny was our server she was very attentive, friendly and was very outgoing. Came because it had the best ramen reviews for Bakersfield. It did not disappoint. I got the spicy tonkotsu with a lot of add ons: Tantan pork, garlic, tofu, kimchi. Tho if you're expecting a lot of heat, this isn't it. It had a very small kick of spice. The gyozas were alright. The presentation was super pleasing. The sauce didn't really do it for me but the texture of the qyozas were good. Green tea ice cream didn't have a lot of green tea flavor but was still good. I loved the little umbrella! I thoroughly enjoyed this ramen! A big thank you to Ritchie who helped me figure out what I wanted. You were super helpful and funny. Thanks for making my first experience a good one. As I left, the staff shouted "see you tomorrow" and I laughed the whole way back to my car. I WILL be back... but not tomorrow haha.

I had been meaning to try this place for a year. I was finally able to this past week while catching up with a friend :) I am sort of a Ramen snob, and have my one select restaurant in town, but after this visit, I can definitely say this place beats out the rest! It is sooo good! My only issue with the place is the pricing for the spicy sauce and additional toppings. The hon ramen has limited toppings in comparison to other ramen spots. But it's still worth a try if you're in the area.

We've seen this place plenty of times while driving downtown and today we finally parked and walked in. The place is tasteful decorated and offers a cozy intimate feeling for personal lunch or dinner date. The staff was very kind welcoming and helpful with understanding some of the menu items. I picked the Spicy Garlic Miso. This bowl arrived looking so pretty that it took me a minute before I decided to disturb the noodles. They offer a choice of a soft boil or hard boil egg and of course I got the soft boil. This Ramen was absolutely delicious, the broth had that familiar Miso taste but offerd a little kick from the spice and a gentle roasted garlic under taste. I loved that they weren't stingy with the green onions and that the pork pieces were so delicately thinly sliced that they melted right in with the Ramen while slurping the noodles up. I ordered an extra side of bean sprouts only because I like the fresh crunch in my Pho and thought its gotta be just as good in my bowl of Ramen. This for me will definitely be worth ordering a second time. My husband got the Spicy Tan Tan Men with an extra egg. His was topped with some shredded pork that was so tasty that to me had the tasted of a mix of BBQ and a teriyaki pork. Once he mixed the sesame paste into the broth it elevated the taste to that Ramen to like 10 other levels. These Ramen bowls were so tasty that they didn't need the squeeze of lime like we sometimes do with a bowl of Pho, they we spot on as is. If you're ever in the downtown area and looking for something delicious to eat, give Hon Ramen a try but just make sure you check their hours since they close at 2pm after lunch and reopen for dinner at 4pm.

This review is based on a to-go order. I phoned in a to-go order, the staff were so friendly over the phone. My order was made promptly and packaged super well for the drive home. The ramen was packaged separately to keep all items fresh and warm! The food was just as delicious as if it were being served in restaurant. Their hon ramen is ALWAYS a must!!

Came with a group of friends because we were feeling like having Ramen. This place definitely gets busy so you might have to wait for a table to open up. I would describe the vibe as pretty trendy. We had some ambient light, some EDM playlist was on, so I'd say it's fun with a group of friends. Seen some people on dates there too, just like casual. Servers were very nice and personable, but I think for how busy it gets, they are a bit short on staff! My waiter was really great and even made me a makeshift chopstick helper when I asked for a fork which is fun. Cool trick. They have a good variety on the menu. My friends ordered some spicy edamame for the table. I have a low spice tolerance so I didn't eat it, but I got some Karaage and it was awesome. It was super crispy and the sauce that comes with it is delicious. I'd go back just for that. The ramen was also really good. I got the veggie ramen. Tasty broth and good noodles. I do wish there was more tofu in it. You get like one square on the top and that's your slab of tofu. I'd like some more cut into it too, personally. My friend got the spicy veggie ramen and I think the overall consensus for the people who got spicy ramen is that they'd like theirs to be a bit spicier, so they got some more sauce--sriracha and chili oil both to make it a bit spicier. So if you like spicy, try that. I don't, so I was happy with what I got. This is a place I would come back to, for sure. It's pretty cute and the food's solid.

Met my gf up for lunch here. Wasn't so busy during lunch and got our orders quick. Got Jalopeno bombs and karage for appetizers. The karage was soo good! Ordered the Tantanmen and added pork and bamboo shoots. Overall pretty good! Nothing bad to say about this place.

Hon Ramen is theeee spot. My go-to without a doubt. Service is friendly and quick, the drinks are crisp and the food has never let me down. Last visit, I had the best Hidden Dragon roll that have ever graced this palate. Tender, so flavorful, and a complete dream to experience. Maybe I'm getting carried away, but trust me.. this spot is a little piece of heaven.

My favorite place! It only gets better and better. Their new bowls are the cutest and biggest. Ritchie was quick with it, sharing the promotions! A classic safe space to come visit :)

Yep this hit the spot for sure. First time trying Hon Ramen! I usually make my own ramen at home but I realized I've never tried any ramen places in town so now I'm out and about!! I was super excited to try their ramen as all my friends highly recommended this place. I got the spicy tonkotsu ramen! It was DELICIOUS. I was just satisfied all around. The broth was yummy, the meat was amazing, and all the veggies were just *chefs kiss*. And a huge thank you to our server Ritchie! A great and super chill server who would also tell jokes too and it just made the atmosphere of the environment more relaxing.

We came here with some friends and we had a large party. They still seated us pretty quickly. We ordered our drinks and food when the server came and she was quick to bring out all the drinks. We ordered gyoza, spicy garlic miso ramen, salmon buns, dragon ball, jalapeño bites and egg rolls. Everything was delicious. We will definitely come back for a date night.

I just found The best ramen spot in bakersfield! The ramens was so good and fresh not the typical ramen u get around the are. Jeanny was very friendly and nice to us. Since it was our first time here she helped and explained what we are ordering! Will definitely comeback with our friends and will order and eat here again!

Absolute bland and now I'm sitting at home and my stomach hurts like hell, pretty sure I got food poisoning

So as soon as you walk In you're greeted! It's gets busy so fast! They're playing KPOP and it's not too loud. Their menu is pretty big, but we were a big group! We got 4 ramens and the broth is milky it's so good! The meat is a bit sweet, and it's just so soft and tender.. One thing is that it's not super spicy and you have to pay extra for more spicy but it's still not spicy enough. I asked for chili oil... but only got oil... and I would have to pay extra for the actual one, a little dissatisfying! Especially since I like my sushi with a bit of spice. I'd love to come back and try some different items!

I have been here quite a few times and I think they have constantly gone better over time. Restaurant gets quite busy especially during the colder months. I usually go for the tonkotsu ramen and I opted for the spicy one this time. I think it had the right amount of spice - nothing too overwhelming but just enough flavor to make it a memorable experience. The chasu was perfectly cooked as always and the broth was delicious. I also ordered some takoyaki and it just never fails. Soft, packed, and the sauce keeps everything together. I have not really tried their rolls but maybe it's good enough reason for another visit. Will be back, for sure!

Cozy little spot with a nice ambiance. The customer service was genuinely great--friendly and attentive staff--and the music added a perfect touch to the vibe. We ordered quite a bit: chicken teriyaki, salmon roll, Hon roll, Hidden Dragon roll, shrimp tempura, and egg rolls. Unfortunately, we have to be honest--we just couldn't give more than 3 stars based on the food. While everything was presented nicely, the flavors and overall quality didn't quite meet our expectations. We really wanted to love it more, especially with such a welcoming atmosphere, but the food just didn't hit the mark for us.

This place gives fun-K-town-drink-place vibe - I'm sure the Owner is Korean. I like the atmosphere and decor a lot. The ramen doesn't give off "we cooked the broth for 48hrs" vibe, but it was pretty delidelicious- the soft marinated egg was perfect and the texture of the noodle was great. Their chicken kaarage was good but the portion was small. We arrived by 5:30pm on Saturday night and wait was about 15 min.. we were seated by the bar and service was a bit slow because they were busy but the waiter was very nice about it, so it was all good.

We are on the hunt for the Best Ramen in Bakersfield and after eating here today, I have the feeling this place will be very hard to beat. The food we had here today was EXCEPTIONAL. Very happy that we stopped by for an early dinner. We came by on a Thursday at 4:30pm and it wasn't busy. We were seated immediately and our server was very kind. They have a great variety of items on their menu for appetizers, sushi, ramen, ect. We placed our order and within 15 minutes our food was out. We went with vegetable gyoza for an appetizer and it was good! Would easily rate the dish a 8 out of 10. My girlfriend got the MGM roll and it was also very good. Fish was fresh and the roll itself was packed with flavor. Only thing about the roll is that it is massive and awkward to eat. Would have to rate the roll a 8 out 10. I went with the spicy garlic miso ramen and I was highly impressed with my dish. Noodles were of great quality and the flavors of the soup were AMAZING. Easily would rate this dish a 10 out 10. Overall, if your looking for a great Japanese spot for dinner then swing on by. You won't regret coming that's foresure. Thanks Hon Ramen!

I am in love with Hon Ramen. I hadn't tried *real* ramen before this place and it really set the bar high for other Ramen places! I have ordered my food for delivery and I have eaten in the restaurant. I have had no complaints with either! The service is fast and friendly when you eat at the restaurant and they do a great job of packaging the food up for travel when you get it delivered. When you do eat in the restaurant, you get a fun experience with KPop music videos playing all around! They do also have a small bar if you eat in person. I recommend trying the Hon Ramen with a soft boiled egg and a Crunchy Shrimp Roll the first time you go!

The spicy tonkutsu ramen is my favorite from this place, the miso ramen is also good. They also offer great sushi, 100% recommend this place. Service is on point and the chef will welcome you and say goodbye to you one the way out.

I have had great luck trying out down town restaurants lately, so I decided to head downtown on my half day off on Friday. I can never pass on Ramen. This is a beautiful, hip place with beautiful lighting and decor. My waitress Jenny was super sweet, my food came super fast. As a self proclaimed ramen expert, of course I ordered the spicy tonkotsu. So the pork was fatty, very well marinaded, I should have ordered extra. The soft boiled egg was creamy and flavorful. The broth was sinfully oily and rich. Overall an amazing experience. Highly highly recommended!

Not a whole lot better than some super tasty broth on a chilly evening. Luckily for me the broth was accompanied with meat you could drink! I don't think I've tried to drink meat before. I got the spicy ramen and it wasn't overwhelming with spicy it was more for the flavor and some heat. Plenty of water refills. I tried to figure out how they did the soft boiled egg and when I asked the waitstaff they were holding onto the secret. The egg was kinda sweet and I wish I popped it so the yolk could get into the soup sooner!! It is alot of soup and I left ready for a nap

Service very slow and employees didn't care. Sushi showed up cold and was a fried dish. I don't recommend. Maybe an off night

I went for the first time at the recommendation of some friends and family, the food was pretty good, but the service was horrible. They have a sign that says five or more people in a party means only one ticket allowed and the tip will be included, which is okay and understandable, but if the tip is included you would at least expect a drink refill. The workers all had attitude and were rude whenever we asked for anything, like we were inconveniencing them. I will most likely not be returning.

Best ramen spot in Bakersfield!! This is the spicy tonkotsu with extra chashu and extra egg. It's my go too and it's sooo good! I've also tried the spicy tantanmen, spicy miso, and the chicken ramen. They are all equally amazing! Definitely try this place out! The service for dine in is exceptional and ordering to go is so quick and easy! When we dine in it honestly feels like we're not in Bakersfield, the ambience is very relaxed and the restaurant is decorated well.

Food is delicious and there's plenty of good options. Staff is always friendly. It can get busy so there maybe a wait time. It always smells yummy inside. They do offer pick up options and are on delivery platforms. Must try spot.

I got the teriyaki chicken bowl and i liked how it came with different vegetables than i'm used to like corn. But it was good.

As many times as I have been here. I am DISGUSTED with the customer service I had experienced today and shocked because normally this is not how it is when I have came the past times. I came in today and because I choose to not sit in the "Bar" area, they chose to not sit me they told me they wouldn't sit me after I said I didn't want to sit at the Bar. I watched a couple people of a party of (2) come in after me and be sat right in front of my face. I asked why they hadn't seat me yet, the guy waiter told me because I declined sitting where he wanted me to sit. Several seats were available. This is so wrong it's very wrong to treat a customer who always comes here. I can't believe I even had this experience. I have pictures for proof. Not to mention I am on my lunch break and they had me waiting for 10/15 minutes while so many seats where available but because I chose to not sit in the bar they declined to not sit me. The guy waiter was rude and I honestly don't want to come back after this. Don't treat your customers that come on a daily basis like that.

came to eat on my lunch here and to my horror experienced such an uncomfortable situation from the chef. apparently a woman came in with a concern about her food and the chef took it upon himself to gather the attention of all the patrons and asked us remember her face since she was asked not to come back, that is not how you treat people. pray they get your order right when coming here or you will be trespassed

The Signature ramen bowl "Han Ramen" was very tasty. It was a good portion. I also had the tempura shrimp and a baked salmon roll. All very good , and service was quick and attentive. They offered a free soda with review. I tried the melon soda, very tasty. I would dine here again. Thank you.

It's a very cute little spot with a cool ambiance. The food service is really fast. Their bowls of ramen are huge and the appetizers are delicious. I recommend if you like spicy to get the spicy tonkutso ramen I got it with pork and it was very flavorful. The other one across from me was the regular chicken ramen and it's good too but I prefer spicy. I don't like bean sprouts so I ask them to remove them.

The restaurant had a very fun ambiance. They were playing K-pop music and music videos on screens, which was great. It was already very crowded at 5:30 on a Friday, but we were seated in 15 min or so. The food was tasty but portions were a bit on the smaller side. I might come back when I miss k-town vibe.

The staff were very friendly! The ambiance was very thematic & moody! We ordered the Vegetable Ramen & Edamame. It was our first time eating Ramen so we didn't know what to expect, but it was awesome! The instant Ramen packages you buy in the store don't even compare- their broths are extremely salty yet their noodles are flavorless! This Ramen had a rich veggie broth & the noodles were substantial. The fresh veggies added another layer of flavor!

The food is amazing here! It always comes out fast and tastes delicious. The waitress Michelle (red hair) always remembers my order and name which makes me feel extra special. There is always room at the countertop. I like the Kpop or whatever they got jamming on the TVs and the Japanese welcome they give when you enter the establishment. The atmosphere is not too bright and it is really cozy inside. Top 3 things: -Spicy tantan men ramen -Spicy garlic miso ramen -Japanese Karage (really crispy chicken)

The Ramen here is super delicious and the service was excellent, was seated and served within 15 minutes. I ordered the spicy Tonkotsu and the broth was hearty and amazing. Would definitely recommend for ramen!

LOVE THIS PLACE!!! Every time I crave Ramen this is my GO TO place! Absolutely delicious broth, fresh picked bamboo (best I ever had), tasty and thick pieces of pork, perfectly gooey soft boil egg (can request for hard boiled) and on top of that amazing service staff especially Jenny Yuan! She knows me and my partners order every time we walk in and always greets us with a smile. The atmosphere in this place is relaxing and "hang out" and eat ramen with us! We both had Spicy Tonkotsu Ramen with a side of Vegetable Egg rolls, THE EGGROLLS WERE FRESH, CRISPY, AND ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS!!! Highly recommend trying them out, WILL NOT DISAPPOINT!

This was my first time visiting. I've got to say between the atmosphere and the staff and the food. Everything was perfection. From the lively greeting you get when you walk in the building the servers were all friendly and attentive, and the food that I had was fantastic. The Karaage chicken was fantastic. And the Hon Ramen was fantastic. Some of the best pork I've had in Ramen in a long time.

So far best tasting ramen in Bakersfield. Of course nothing beats the Ramen of Japan like Ichiran

My wife and I ate there "fresh off I-99" and were astounded at how good their (miso & corn) ramen is. Wish I had an excuse to go back -- the pan-Asian staff were most attentive and it was good knowing I didn't have to do the "Sapporo Ichiban" (instant version) while in Central Calif.

i live in la, but stayed with my cousins for some days, and wow the best ramen ive had. makes me want to stay here in bakersfield to come back. this is actually my 2nd time here now, i came yesterday!! service is amazing, always patient and never rude. even when busy they always come with a nice mood, and greet nicely. loving the kpop music as well, and the lighting in here is so nice. perfect place to have ramen!!

One of the best Ramen spots in Bakersfield, hands down! The spicy garlic miso ramen is my favorite. It has such a great flavor but it is very garlicky and you will need a mint afterwards lol The spicy chicken & spicy Tonkotsu are so good as well! In my opinion, the spicy is not very spicy at all and I would ask for more spicy sauce on the side. The pork is very soft and yummy. They also ask you if you want the egg soft or hard & I always get it soft because I feel that the hard is too hard but that's my opinion. The karaage is nice and crunchy and comes with a side of spicy mayo. I've ordered this to go & the crunch held up & it was still hot. The jalapeno bomb is best eaten at the restaurant. I feel that it's not the best when taken to go. The service is always very fast! Even during the lunch rush. Servers are very nice. The restaurant itself is always very cool and dim lighting. It's a nice relaxing environment. During lunch time they usually have Korean music playing on the tvs. But not too loud. I've never had a bad experience here. 10/10 recommend.

Amazing service and hospitality, not a big fan of the sushi. But this ramen is so good, like I am a big ramen fan, no shop in the greater LA area even comes close to Hon. great appetizers as well. As someone who works in restaurants this is as good as it gets. Spicy Tonkotsu FTW

Yum! We Uber eats this last night and was soooo impressed! The baked salmon roll was delicious especially the eel sauce! My husband got the spicy ramen and he said he loved it! Would recommend!

Absolutely the best Ramen in Bakersfield. I've tried multiple Ramen places and nothing compares to Hon Ramen. I normally get the original Hon Ramen with extra Chachu and soft boiled egg. It is divine. The broth is so flavorful 10 out of 10 recommend

Legitimately the best ramen I have ever had-and I had many. Great vfm too. Nice atmosphere and friendly staff. 100% recommended.
