Hon Sushi

We went during happy hour for dinner. Service was great, quick and frequent. Sapporo on draft was a good price as was wine. The squid leg tempura was a little tough to bite through but was tast6. We had two non-rice rolls: I Love You and a cucumber roll, both were great.

We loved all the sushi rolls we got, especially the sexy roll! It was not very busy for a Saturday noon, and so the service was on point. They provided us with plenty of recommendations which was helpful since it was our first time. I thought that the fish was fresh and the rolls were reasonably priced. Will be coming back.

Second visit here, the food is fresh and delicious, the service is excellent. I tried the Tempura Udon and the Mustang Sushi. The best sushi rolls I’ve ever tried in this country. 🤤🤤🤤

One of the better Sushi places in the area beats out most places because of the freshness of the sushi and the decent price. Customer service is always excellent and they serve your food quickly without any issues. I've been going to this place for years and still find it to be my favorite sushi place. I know the owners of several other sushi places and are friends with them but friendship doesn't equal good food. If you want a quiet sushi experience with amazing food come here during the weekdays it gets a little crowded on the weekends.

Remembered going to this place about 4years earlier and decided to stop in for a weekend lunch after shopping. Absolutely still the best!!! We got the house salad, monkey brains appetizer, garlic edamame, the Love Boat sushi boat + a Phili roll. Everything was absolutely delicious!!! I got hot tea and was super pleased to see loose leaf tea was steeping in my pot! Very nice staff.

Full disclosure. We did not come for sushi, but for the wide variety of tempura items. We had lunch and three of us all ordered appetizers. Fantastic! The tempura batter was perfectly crispy and none of the inside items were overcooked. The calamari (always a test) was spot on, it was very tender WITHOUT going to rubber. Service was lovely. Bathrooms spotless. Hon Sushi is a new favorite go-to.

I really enjoyed having dinner here. I have arrived around 7pm and it was quite peaceful with so few customers. For supper I ordered Monkey Brains & the Rainbow Roll and the restaurant even gave me a bowl of miso soup which was on the house. It was all very tasty but I do recommend buying a bowl of miso as I did on top of the 1st bowl they gave for free. The miso soup they make is phenomenal! Its made with a bit of dashi and it's perfectly seasoned. I also ordered several containers of hot sake which is umm maybe 6 or 7 shots per container if you order large. For the hot sake i ordered 1 container of Fuji apple and 2 containers of purple sake. The purple sake hits harder than the Fuji apple but the apple has got a wonder flavor to it which I bet the ladies would enjoy. So if your significant other wants a bit of alcohol I would recommend the Fuji Apple which is normally served cold but you can request it be served as hot which in my opinion is perfect hot as it goes down easy. The Monkey Brain is quite large for an appetizer but I did absolutely enjoyed it and the Rainbow Roll is excellent also. The Rainbow Roll is the only sushi I've seen on the menu that offers a variety of fish on a sushi roll. It consists of White Tail, Tuna, Salmon and shrimp with crab meat on the inside. Very tasty. I would recommend Hon Sushi if you so happen to be in the area. What a treat!

Had the Lunch Sashimi Bento Box, plenty of food and Good. Wait Staff was prompt and available. Restaurant and Restrooms clean. Th only thing I didn't care for was the music, not condusive to a Japanese setting.

Wow... this quaint and friendly sushi spot has the others beat. I came in for a late lunch, ordered the Poke Bowel cause it's a good blend of food to sample. It was great, fresh fish perfect rice and just enough sauce to blend it all very nicely. Green tea and perfect miso soup filled out the meal. So the staff... reminded me of a pensione in Italy. Seemed more like family (the ones you like) and friends than workers. Actually they all sat and had lunch together next to me while I finished my meal. Business is closed between 2:30 and 5 to give the staff time together I assume. Completely reminded me of the original Macaroni Grill (Leon Springs) when Phil used to run it. Get in here and enjoy the whole environment.

Came here for the lunch specials only to learn that prices have increased. $20 for two specialty rolls which includes a miso soup. Husband got the spicy Korean ramen with shrimp. The rolls and ramen portions are huge. One person could easily share a roll & bowl of ramen. The sushi flavors were lacking a little bit but the salmon on top of the Alaskan roll was large and fresh.

This place is pretty good. We have been looking for a new sushi spot and this place fit the bill. They are reasonably priced. It's quiet and relaxing. The service was really good. Our waitress was attentive. 10/10 can't wait to go back

The Spicy Salmon roll is too spicy. And it's not something you can customize like a topping. The garlic edamame is good and charred.

I went here for the first based off of the reviews on yelp and this place did not disappoint in the slightest. When you walk in, the decor and environment is very welcoming and looks fantastic. I went with a date and we split the BFF, Hamahama, and Vikings roll. We honestly couldn't choose our favorite. Usually blind tasting sushi for the first time you may have one you don't like but all 3 were absolutely out of the world. With those 3 special rolls and 2 beers it came out to about 72 bucks, for some of the best sushi I've had in the Dallas area I'll be back absolutely. I only ordered from the special rolls menu and didn't even get to touch the main menu. Thank you for the amazing meal and wonderful service, the entire time we enjoyed our meal, we were well taken care of.

Hon sushi is a gem hidden in plain sight! We took my parents earlier today because we were hungry (duh) and wanted a spot closeby. If you look at the shopping center, this one is a huge standout. Next to Him sushi are random places: Little Caesars, Wingstop, just random . This is why I say a hidden gem in plain sight. Surprisingly, for a Friday night it was pretty empty which is shocking because you should not sleep on this place. We had monkey brains and chicken karagge for an appetizer. My parents were obsessed with the monkey brains. They are planning on coming back for that alone haha. The chicken karagge was ok. I think the sauce was lacking from other places we've tried this at. My husband had the combination fried rice, my mom had the vegetable fried rice, my dad had two rolls (tuna roll & California roll) and I had a butterfly kiss roll which is my absolute favorite roll ever. For the two appetizers, the meal options I mentioned above and a sprite for my dad we paid $95+ tip. A l s o we got free miso soup which was nice and unexpected :-) My husband and I love coming here and grabbing a sushi roll or two and a friend rice- it's filling and quick if you call ahead! Their salmon used in their butterfly kiss is chefs kiss. It's the perfect soft thick piece of salmon you would expect for a almost $20 roll. This spot is close to my parents so we will absolutely be coming back.

Came here on valentines. We appreciated the transparency of lag in service but holy crap it took a long time to get our order. The sushi was decent and fairly priced. The music was really good!

Thanks to the yelp reviews, we decided to try this place... it did not disappoint. We had a good experience. Food was good and service was also good. We ordered the Love Boat combo. Enough to be shared by two people. The combi also came with miso soup. It came with 5 kinds of sashimi, 2 of each kind. It was fresh ,as it should be, and the slices where thicker than most. We also love the Hon roll and the Rainbow rolls. The sushi rice was good. Place was nice and cozy. Food was reasonably priced. We will definitely be back.

We're so glad we found this restaurant! We got seated right away. The menus had pictures for every roll and they said what was in the roll as well as what was on top instead of just telling you the general ingredients. They also had color identifiers for spice and fried. I haven't seen a menu this clearly layer out and was very impressed. After we ordered, they brought us miso soup and it was probably the best I'd ever had. Then they brought out our four rolls on a boat. It was hard to pick a favorite. I think the Viking ended up being our favorite after the rock star. The customer service was even good. The employees were kind and seemed like they wanted to be there. Overall a wonderful experience and we'll be back!

I finally got an opportunity to drop by and try a few items I thought they We're very tasty and surprisingly had a lot of flavor. As I find most places in Texas that serve sushi and Asian cuisine to be quite bland. We ordered the Baked Salmon roll, was ok. Yakisoba Noodles, had flavor and the Egg Rolls were piping hot and also full of flavor.

We went here for lunch and had an okay experience! The sushi was pretty average compared to other sushi restaurants. Our service was okay, we went in on a Monday and it was not too busy so we were quickly seated which was nice. Our waiter was great! It was interesting however because it seemed like the staff also was having lunch with us around the same time where they set up a table for themselves to also have lunch. I've never seen that before at a restaurant! It was not bad but just different! The overall setting was clean but a little small in my opinion! The tables were kind of close together and everything was pretty open!

Service - quick and attentive on a Saturday evening. Nigiri - Smoked Salmon, Tuna, Scallop (Hotate) - all were not fresh. Given high reviews, my experience was different. I did not find their fish fresh at all, and it was extremely slimy and fishy. Softshell crab overly breaded like ebi style. Agedashi tofu, this was not agedashi tofu at all. They drizzle eel sauce on top of the tofu. Overall, I'm glad I got to experience the place but definitely not returning due to the quality of the food.

I wish ownership wojld change the name of the business to Hon's. Sunshi what? Please they have more to offer than just good sushi. I would have never tried this place if it wasn't for my friends request to meet for lunch. I don't care for sushi. And the name of the business markets sushi. First off the setting of the restaurant is business friendly, romantic for a date, and or business meeting. Very nice feng shui or in Japan saying (Fusi)! Very good vibes and feelings. The service was amazing!! Very nice waitress who always smiled and was very attentive. I ordered a skillet beef entre they came with soup, salad, and rice. Ohh mannnnn!! DELICIOUS!!! The house soup is amazing!!! The house dressing is amazing. The skillet beef was grilled Japanese style and was AMAZING!! Hon please rename to just Hons. I didn't try the sushi but everything I saw and tasted was AMAZING!! I will be back. Please don't let my views form your opinion. Go try for yourself!!

From the outside it looks like your local hole in the wall restaurant but food is excellent! Service is good too. Hidden gem.

Hon's has been my lunchtime sushi destination for years. I come for one thing- the nuclear roll. It is the spiciest tuna roll in the area. This last visit, I tried the ahi tower. Excellent choice with healthy portions of spicy tuna and crabmeat. I've never dined inside, only carry out. Lunchtime specials are great and never a long wait.

I got the Sailboat combo and the Hako roll! I definitely would recommend the Hako roll, it was pretty big so great for sharing :) Overall I was pretty satisfied.

This is my favorite restaurant to go to for sushi. My husband took me here in 2016 and we go back as often as possible. So sad this is the first time I've thought to check-in and right a review. The people working there are very nice and friendly and more than willing to make a recommendation if you ask for one. We always order the garlic edamame which is so yummy we often get full on that and have a hard time finishing our sushi...lol. This place has the biggest rolls of any place I've ever been to. We've never ordered it, but they have a boat full of sushi which always looks amazing when we see it being delivered to customers. My husband, who does not consider sushi a meal, never finishes his entire sushi roll and, trust me, this man can put it down. When I ask him if he wants to split the pork chop at Perry's with me he looks at my like I'm crazy (and he always cleans his plate), but he has yet to be successful of finishing a sushi roll at Hon's. On this most recent trip we ordered the O.M.G roll and the BFF roll and, just like everything else we've ordered from Hon's, they did not disappoint.

A very good sushi restaurant with a great variety of fish and an abundance of other great food. The portions are quite generous and always well prepared!

The good: Really clean and nice ambience, it's a relaxing place!. Excellent selection of sushi's, sashimi, noodles, and appetizers. The food is super fresh and tasty, and good size portions. Good selection Japonese beer, and sake. Complementary miso soup, designated gender bathrooms very clean single user. They have designated parking spots for its customers. Service is amazing! Extremely polite and fast. They lunch special only for week day. Prices are really good, the three of us pay $80 ish and had two appetizers, sashimi, 3 special rolls, and sake. The not so good: it could improve the wine selection (but it's a preference, to be honest not a bad thing). Verdict: new fav sushi place alert! I loved the ambiance and service, and food was high end! If you are around you certainly should give it a try. I can be good for girls date or date nights.

The service was quick and the atmosphere was like you were in a forest, very peaceful. Perfect for a date night! This place is in a strip of other places so I found parking to be a little less than desirable and parking is 2 hour parking. We ordered the OMG, volcano and shrimp tempura rolls and they are so good! I'm excited to go back and try more on their menu.

I'm not really a big fan of sushi but this place was actually really good! We came at a random time of the day so it wasn't too busy but the waitresses were really nice. Hon Sashimi they are cut very thick and large All of it was so good and it was not fishy at all All the rolls that I posted a picture of below were very good. I don't like cream cheese in my sushi so these didn't have any. the Ahi Tower portion was a litttle small compared to other sushi restaurants i've been too. The Udon was good but it's a huge bowl so I think sharing with someoen will be best if you are eating rolls too on the side.

Hidden gem in Carrollton! My neighbors have raved about this place and I'm so glad I had a chance to try it. The meal started with complimentary miso soup. We ordered garlic edamame. It is unique and has a slight smoky flavor! It's delicious. The sushi is very fresh and the rolls are large in size. The menu has a big variety of sushi rolls and includes pictures which is helpful. There were other dishes on the menu if sushi is not your vibe. The restaurant is very clean and the service was great. I will be back!

I often go Hon Sushi for casual family dinner whenever we want some sushi. Every time we go there the food is amazing. We usually order Love Boat Combo or Titanic Boat Combo; it comes with sushi, sashimi, and some rolls. I have ordered other regular and special rolls before and they are very good as well.

Fabulous sushi and phenomenal service! Small, quaint dining room with the view of the fresh sushi counter. Went for my sons 20th birthday dinner with other family and they even surprised him with ice cream sundae and a candle without even asking.

I've ordered delivery several times via door dash from Hon Sushi. It had filled my sushi craving each time. It's been a month or two since I've ordered, and my recollection is a 4 to 5, so a 5 gets the vote! ...I think tomorrow May be a sushi night from Hon Sushi...

What a surprise when I walked in. I didn't see a crowd. The yelp rating for this place is very high. So I was expecting a line during lunch hour. Okay, I shouldn't be complaining about not seeing a line :) The menu is pretty elaborate for a first time visitor. There is a variety of sushi rolls and sashimi. If you like ramen, you'll be happy too. I was interested in the lunch menu. I ordered a lunch combo that included the Hon Ramen and 3 pieces of takoyaki. I think if they do their signature dish right, everything should be right also. The broth looked whiteish yellow and creamy. It was mild in a sense that it was not overpowering, but it was still very delicious. The fried pork was good also. It was not too fatty. The takoyaki was nicely browned. It was toasty outside and chewy inside. Of course, I liked the tiny piece of squid inside. As far as a Japanese restaurant, this place is not overly decorated with all the Japanese cultural items. But you can still tell the ethnicity from the open kitchen. What is interesting is if you look up the ceiling you see some "clouds in the blue skies". If you don't know what I'm talking about, you can check it out yourself.

What a hidden gem! Great tasting sushi, fresh, delicious fish. Most flavorful miso soup I've had in a long time! Their happy hour was fabulous. Gyoza was perfectly flavorful and had a great crunch. Would recommend to everyone!

Ordered a love boat & split with 2 other people. It was definitely a good amount of food. We added an eel roll which is on the end of the boat. The fish is pretty fresh and the service is good. I would come here again

I came here for my birthday (my favorite food is sushi), and I loved it! We ordered a bowl of udon and a sushi boat. I would definitely recommend getting a sushi boat or combo here for the presentation and variety of tastes. The boat had multiple types of fish, and the tuna tasted exceptionally fresh. The udon was also a great pair to the meal, and the broth was rich in flavor. The menu has your standard rolls as well as many specialty rolls that I was excited to try. My go-to is usually a rainbow roll, but they had this "hon roll" and it was a great spin-off! The workers are so friendly, and I would come back just for them! When I told them it was my birthday, they came out singing with a special cake just for me!

*Delivery Through DoorDash* This was fantastic. Each piece just melted in your mouth. We ordered the "Love Boat" for delivery, it was neatly packaged separately per roll/sashimi. I decided to plate it because eating sushi out of plastic containers reminds me of a grocery store. I can't even imagine how good this must be in-restaurant if it was this good being delivered. I'm definitely adding this to my post-COVID visit list.

Always super tasty everytime we've gone. The sushi is delicious and the chicken fried rice is great! I try to get a new roll each time I visit to try different rolls.

MY FAVORITE SUSHI PLACE. First time a couple weeks ago was such a great experience. Tried sushi, udon, and egg rolls. Second time today it was just as good. Tried sashimi and tonkotsu. Everything is always delicious. Staff is always so friendly and recommend the best things. Very clean and ambiance is perfectly calm. I will always give Hon Sushi business!! Can't wait to return again.

A friend of mine got stitches and could only eat soft food for the next 24 hours so sushi seemed like a solid move and boy was Hon sushi amazing First off, the ambiance is incredible. Even the plates they serve you goes with the ambiance of the place. Perfect date spot, the way they serve all the sushi rolls on one plate and the cute little tree is perfect man. I'm absolutely bringing a date here in the future. Now as to what we ordered. The menu was massive with over 30 different types of rolls Monkey Brains: (5/5) great appetizer! It's mushrooms with crabmeat and tuna. Serve in 4 pieces and they are huge! Honestly if you ordered it just for yourself this would be enough it's so filling and so good! Mt Fuji roll: (5/5) best roll we ordered! Crabmeat shrimp Cream cheese, def ordering again Hidden dragon: (3/5) my friend ordered this one and while it was a decent roll, I learned that while I like eel sauce I'm not really a fan of fried eel and this had eel in and on top of the roll Kal-Lana roll: (4/5) solid roll with avocado on the top but also some eel that I wasn't a fan off Overall I can tell this place is incredible and even though I found some rolls I didn't like that was more so me learning I don't enjoy eel in my roll. Next time I go I'll make sure to adjust my order appropriately and I have no doubt I'll be astounded again
