On the Grid : Honest Burger

"Trendy burger joint that cooks up a delicious burger that is deceptively easy to eat. Especially when paired with rosemary salted fries accompanied by lashings of mayonnaise and a sharp homemade lemonade." - Sam Morris

Some friends told me I had to try so I finally did it and it was a really good meal! Everything was tasty, the wait was average. I would have liked the burger to be a bit bigger, but it's still a decent size and there was a lot of fries A bit pricey but I would recommend it if you want a craft burger better than your everyday fast food.

As someone who has visited many different Honest Burgers locations this one was average. The seating was limited because the staff told us that the downstairs area was closed and so we were only left with high seats and a table. The menu was good and there was plenty of choice, the food was good too. The service was fairly fast but we had various different staff serve us and the service didn’t go above and beyond but we were happy with our food. The items were competitively priced and the portion sizes were good; the value could be improved slightly on drinks or perhaps an offer to encourage customers to buy more drinks would be good. The opening hours of the restaurant were good however I don’t think I’ll visit this specific location again due to the limited size and average customer service, the food however hit the spot and I wouldn’t discourage anyone from going and perhaps give it a chance in a quieter hour during the week or lunch. The toilet was clean and available too plus the restaurant caters for those who wish to eat vegan, vegetarian or halal food (chicken only) which is good to ensure that everyone can enjoy their food!

Went here today. Food was awful. Chips were stale and tasted as good as they looked. The smash burger patty and bun tasted like cardboard. Was a long wait for my food too. Shame as they used to do decent burgers. Avoid, avoid, avoid. They weren’t busy, guessing chef was having an off day. So many better burger joints in London to try.

Nice place and the local honest burger is wonderful. The bartender Brandon is very friendly and honest :) we take also the onion rings and chicken wings. We recommend the Orbit Nico beer. Thanks for the experience.

Perfect spot for lunch with quick service and delicious food. The staff were friendly and accommodating, making it easy to split the bill at the end. A hassle-free dining experience with great value. Large amounts of space down stairs.

I had lunch here on Wednesday with a colleague and it was our first time to this branch. We were welcomed warmly and we were taking away so we ordered our burgers (smash) and took a seat at the bar while we waited. The upstairs (which is the ground floor) has a great vibe and I liked the decor. Service was polite and friendly. We waited about fifteen minutes for the burgers and then took them back to the office. The burgers were still warm when we got back. The burgers were tasty and had a nice Smokey flavour. I would definitely go back again.

The place was empty after work and the service was fast. The restaurant has a large basement area. The burgers were fresh, and fries were tasty.

Yelp
Honest Burgers has many locations around the location, their Bank location is a short walk from the Underground location of the same name, within the City of London. I'm a big fan of the Honest Burgers chain. Pretty much their entire food menu is gluten-free; all you need to do is swap out a regular bun for a gluten-free one. The prices are also really reasonable, especially for London. My food cost a little more than it would have done compared to my local Honest Burgers in Manchester. The restaurant is over two floors, the main seating area is downstairs however, on the ground level, there is a large bar with bar-style seating - ideal for a quick lunch, and there is also an outdoor seating area - ideal once in a blue moon when we get some half decent weather in this country. I did find it unusual to hear that they are closed on Sundays, although there are plenty of other Honest Burgers restaurants within walking distance as an alternative. They were quiet on my visit, though, so perhaps this location appeals more to office workers looking to grab a quick lunch than typical diners. They do add a service charge onto the bill here; however, this is the case at all other Honest restaurants and pretty much everywhere in London - a practice I don't agree with, as I feel it should be the customer's to decide how much they want to tip - if at all! The food was excellent. I had the gluten-free Buffalo chicken burger, which was delicious. The flavours worked perfectly together--the heat of the buffalo sauce balanced beautifully with the coolness of the ranch mayo with the American cheese. The buttermilk fried chicken patty was very good, too--thick, juicy, and not at all dry--served on a bed of crisp lettuce. As far as chicken burgers go, this is one of Honest's best, coming in second only to the previous local special in Liverpool. The cleanliness of the restaurant could certainly be better - I had to wipe some crumbs off the table, and I was given a pot to put my sauces in, which was dirty. My server was nice enough, but again, I feel the service is better at their Northern locations in Manchester and Liverpool. 4* - While it might not have been the best dining experience I had during my time in London, it was certainly the best value for money, despite issues with cleanliness, my food was good and I would return for sure.

Yelp
The service was speedy and the food was good. I'm from the American South and was pleasantly surprised by how good their buffalo chicken sandwich was. The fries/chips were also really good. Very crispy and flavorful.

Yelp
Honest burgers is busy with good reason. We walked in and dutifully waited for the hostess to seat us. We were seated at the bar that ran along the window. The restaurant also has regular tables and they just slot people in wherever. They serve chicken, beef or vegan burgers with various toppings and sides. It is loud but in a happy way and quite casual.

Yelp
I'm going to be honest and say that I wasn't expecting much from this burger joint, as it's a chain restaurant. But both my friend and I ordered the vegetarian burger and agreed that it was truly one of the best veggie burgers we've ever had. It was perfectly sauced and seasoned, and the fries were a nice side crunch. The next time, I'm in London, I'm making it a priority to eat a vegetarian Honest Burger again!

Yelp
My family and I ate here on two different occasions during our stay in London, and this place has the best burgers I have ever tasted in my life, and this is coming from someone in his late 50s who considers a cheeseburger and fries to be my choice as a last meal on earth. The beef was so flavorful, perfectly cooked, complemented by the right condiments, and paired with rosemary seasoned fries. I can't believe that after decades of eating burgers throughout the U.S. I happen to find my favorite burger in London of all places. The service was very friendly, but we came during a busy time, so it was a bit loud, but I didn't mind since I was enjoying my burger so much.

Yelp
I ordered the tribute burger with bacon to go and had a beer at the bar. I definitely lucked out with my choice given this was a new place for me because my burger was delicious. The burger sauce and French mustard honestly made the burger which gave it a sweet with a hint of spiciness to it. The rosemary fries tastes just as it sounds, like rosemary (lol) but they're fries more on the thick cut side. I sat at the bar as I waited for my food to go and the place was pretty full on a Wednesday evening in that bar area. I didn't get a chance to see the seating because it was full but I'm guess this is a pretty popular place to come to. I genuinely enjoyed my food here and i can see why this is a pretty popular place. The only con was that they only had 2 beers on draft, a lager and a pale ale. For a burger joint they should've definitely had more options but it didn't take away from the experience

Yelp
This burger spot was a quick find and ended up being really great. I got mine cooked medium pink, and I think it was definitely leaning towards rare but it could've just been a cultural difference that I needed to learn. Either way, it was delicious. The fries were really good, as well.

Yelp
The boyfriend was in London a few days earlier and raved about this spot, so we came so I could try for myself. The servers welcomed us inside right away and were very friendly. We started off with beer for the boys and a Honest Cocktail (£6.00) for myself. The drink was refreshing with the cucumber flavors in it. For the main dish, we all went for the classic Honest Burger (£10.95), which came with an all beef patty, red onion relish, smoked bacon, cheddar, lettuce and pickles with rosemary salted chips. We also added the Bacon Gravy (£2.00) sauce to dip the burger and fries. It was pretty delicious, but not exactly neccessary. This place serves a very solid and hefty burger. Their rosemary fries are a great compliment as well.

Yelp
I went there for a bottomless brunch and I was very pleasantly surprised! First, when you want to go to a bottomless brunch but you are not too keen on prosecco, your options are limited in London, however here you have a range of things! And they are delicious !! We had a botanic gin cocktail, and we really enjoyed it. Foodwise, we decided to have breakfasts. They were very tasty! Even the beans!! There was a very cheery atmosphere. It may be because of the booze but I think it's also because people don't use their phones (the main dining room is downstairs and there is no network) and actually have to talk to each other. I love this!! Drinks were flowing, waiters were smiling, the place looks really good! Will I go back? Definitely!! The food was so tasty, i want to taste the rest of the menu!

Yelp
We were looking for a laid back spot to grab dinner after a long first day in London. This hit the mark perfectly. The Honest burger was elevated with the onion jam, very tasty. The chips/fries were well seasoned. We felt very welcome and a good price point.

Yelp
It was recommended to me as one of the best burger place of London so I decided to try it with my friends The place itself is really casual, no reservation needed. The menu is sample, proposing different burgers options, including a vegan one. I ordered the "honest" one. All burgers are served with rosemary fries. The burger itself was good but not exceptional. The fries were too oily and I couldn't feel the rosemary flavor that much. The price is decent but I think even if it's junk food, it was too oily for me. Also the service was decent but, we didn't really appreciate how the waitress took out our plates as soon as the food was in our mouth, without asking if we're done... It's an ok place for burgers but not my favorite

Yelp
Absolutely DELICIOUS food! The house specialty gravy is amazing on rosemary chips! Limited upstairs seating, most is downstairs. If you are lesser abled, take that into consideration.

Yelp
Stumbled upon this place, like many other people. Pretty neat little spot. Very casual, comfortable. Went here late night, maybe an hour before close? All the upstairs tables were full, so we headed downstairs, and grabbed a spot at the communal-ish tables right near the kitchen window. What better way to get ready for delicious food than to watch it all come out before you get yours? Burger was good, but (like others said) the fries had a bit extra oil. I still liked them, but probably would have enjoyed them better if they were a bit less so. Good prices, I think the burger was about £10-11? Friendly staff. Easy to get to from transit.

Yelp
Great food, delicious burgers and chips! The beyond burger is absolutely amazing! Kid's burger were also very good.

Yelp
Walked in at 10PM on a Friday night in an establishment that closes at 1AM. Waitress looked at my family of 3 from the bar, said she was short of staff tonight, and wouldn't serve us. Close the darned restaurant then, idiot! Place was also very messy and dirty.

Yelp
After searching for a spot, stumbled upon this local English chain spot and would say it's a great burger! It is served with a side of delicious rosemary fries, so if you like rosemary....I highly recommend trying this place out! Reasonable prices and good food means 4 stars in my book!

Yelp
I'm a big fan of honest burgers anyway so when I found out that they opened up their new restaurant at Bank, a short walk from my new office, I was pretty pleased. I turned up on a balmy summer evening and was pleasantly surprised to be seated straight away, despite being used queuing in many of their other restaurants. I opted for my usual stilton cheese burger and was not disappointed, the rosemary salted chips that are served with all the burgers really are tasty. I was impressed that they also did a beer on draught which I don't think is an option in all of their restaurants. The upstairs is a pretty cool hangout bar if you want a quick drink before heading down for food, as well as nice atmosphere for counter eating. Still fairly empty about 7pm on a city evening, I hope this place fills up just a bit more to add in a tad more atmosphere.

Yelp
I'm a newby to Honest burger but almost went twice in the same week. Their burgers are amazing. I got one of the specials of the week, I think it was called the Far East. It had me at sriracha. It wasn't as spicy as I was hoping but it was good. I wasn't sure of the rosemary chips but they worked. Menu is simple which is always a bonus for someone who can often eat with eyes. Will definitely be back.

Yelp
Awesome place for a burger in London. Also the wings are really good and so is the lemonade. Haven't tried the milkshakes but they sound good
