HK $150 for a private gondola was a very good bargain. 3 round trips totaling ~15 minutes (more like 20 minutes). Closest station is Central and it's an easy walk. Easy touristy item to check off, go early as there is usually no line. Would recommend to go and check out the city skyline.

Google
Hong Kong Observation Wheel Beautiful views and a relaxing ride by the harbour! 🌆 The Hong Kong Observation Wheel is a lovely spot to enjoy the skyline, both day and night. The location is perfect — right by Victoria Harbour — offering panoramic views of Hong Kong Island, Kowloon, and the surrounding lights. 🌃✨ The ride is smooth and lasts around 15 minutes, giving you enough time to enjoy the scenery and take photos. The cabins are air-conditioned and comfortable, making it pleasant even on warm days. Staff are friendly and the ticket price is reasonable compared to the experience. It’s great for families, couples, or anyone who loves city views. ❤️ 💡 Tip: Visit after sunset to catch the city lights and the Symphony of Lights show — magical! 🌠

I did not get a chance to take a ride on the observation wheel, but it looks great from what I have heard from people. The view will definitely be spectacular during the evening and at night. If you plan to visit, make sure you have enough time and book your tickets in advance.

Google
very valued tickets. 20hk for adult seat three rounds. the queue was super long thou. should have just pay more for fast track. we went at night time and there were lots of fans to keep us cool. it was cool to chill in at night but the windows do need a clean. Can't take much photos. But I would still recommend it.

Google
Not at all expensive, a couple of pounds GBP. We took the Star Ferry over and walked a few minutes to the big wheel. Fun thing to do and good views. No need to book in advance just use the electronic kiosk at the entrance.

Google
a little crowded in late evenings but their turns keep finishing faster as there r plenty of seats so waiting time is ok. But worth the wait to see the skyline of Hongkong and the river view especiallyat night with all lights lit up so vibrant.

Google
The Hong Kong Observation Wheel offers a calm, memorable ride with stunning views of Victoria Harbour and the city skyline. As the wheel moves slowly, you get a beautiful perspective of Hong Kong from above, especially around sunset. It’s a relaxing experience and perfect for photos.

Google
The ticket is worth a try. Waiting time is short. Went after sunset, the transparent door are dirty that make taking a nice n clear scenery photo impossible especially at night. The Mister Softee Ice Cream car that park near the park is worth a try.

Yelp
The Observation wheel is a fun ride right next to the ferry terminal. The line is kind of long but moves quickly. You get to go around the loop three times with a few strangers in the cabin but it's still a nice view. Honestly my main complaint is the windows need to be cleaned more often because it's hard to take pictures through the hazy glass. It's a good deal for 20HKD.

Yelp
Honestly, I would not recommend this touristy spot. I purchased the private gondola plus the fast pass. We went on a Friday night, and it took us about 15 minutes to go through ticketing and the queues. The regular line is so long and moving so slowly. The wheel goes around 3 times, and the entire ride lasts about 20-25 minutes. The window could use a serious cleaning. I tried to take some photos in the beginning, but everything is so blurred because the window is so filthy and dirty. Also, if you go through the fast pass lane, you don't get the official portrait that they take for you. That is fine, just FYI only. It's really nothing special. I wouldn't return and would not recommend this place. You are better off at a rooftop bar to take in the harbor view.

Yelp
The Hong Kong Observation Wheel is smaller than most Ferris Wheels I've been on, but also the cheapest. We went on a hot summer day and although they said there was AC, barely anything was blowing. I see people say it's for 3 rounds, but after 1 we were ready to go and at 2, we asked to leave. The views offered were nice, but no different than from a tall hotel. There were a few photo ops and areas for kids like the dinosaur park, but it was scorching and not many people lingering around. Maybe better at night, but it might be more crowded. There was no wait to get tickets and only about 10 mins wait to get on for us on a weekday afternoon.

Yelp
Hong Kong Island... As a first timer for everything I've experienced on the first few days in Hong Kong riding a ferry to Hong Kong Island was nothing that I've ever experienced...hmmm well maybe visiting relative in Hiroshima at one of the islands but that was years ago so here I am with Nadine and the group to meet up with a friend from the group who has so amazingly taken us on a tour. Getting off the ferry and exiting the pier the first thing I saw is this massive Ferris wheel thing which is The Hong Kong Observations Wheel a stunning way to get a Birdseye view of the island and Victoria Harbor. Not sure of the details but what a stunning feature that I probably would've rode if given the chance...maybe on another trip perhaps! Thank you!

Yelp
Hong Kong Observation Wheel / Central (Hong Kong) -- I've been on a few Ferris wheels in my time...London, Yokohama, Coney Island, Seattle...and yep, this was one of them. It was also, by far, the most crowded one that Jamie W and I had ever ridden. Not my brightest idea to come here on a Saturday evening, but we had just finished doing our laundry at our residential hotel. We were feeling a bit passive about what to do next. Then I had what I thought was a brilliant idea of getting a harbor view without having to get on the Star Ferry. We booked a reservation of HK$30 for two. Yes, for a damn Ferris wheel. Turned out to be the right move because the queue was about 45 minutes long winding in a labyrinth pattern. When we finally boarded a carriage, we shared it with a young mother with three children. They were relatively well behaved since I had my best "Get off my lawn!" face on. We were surprised we experienced three revolutions on the wheel. The views of the night-lit skyscrapers were decent though the windows caused reflections which reduced photo ops considerably. The twenty-minute ride was enough for us. There was little else to do near the wheel, so we just went pub crawling in Central. RELATED - Exploring Hong Kong? Here's my collection of places I've visited and reviewed: https://bit.ly/3AGgadg

Yelp
The Hong Kong Observation Wheel is located at the Central Harbourfront, 60-metre tall with 42 gondolas, including one VIP Gondola with leather seats and a clear glass bottom floor. The cost is very affordable, only HKD 20 for three rounds. Pay attention to their weekday and weekend schedules, the last ride time ends 10:30pm Friday thru Sunday, and one hour early at 9:30pm Monday thru Thursday.

Yelp
I loveeeeeeeeeed it. Hong Kong Observation Wheel aka the AIA sponsored Ferris Wheel is located in Central, Hong Kong. You can easily walk to it from the MTR Hong Kong Station via IFC Mall. I went on New Year's Day, around 5pm. There were tons of people there but mostly for the AIA Great European Carnival next door. The ferris wheel is not affiliated with the carnival, so don't line up for the wrong thing. The ferris wheel has its own ticket booth. $20 per person. Max 8 people per 'gondola' aka ferris wheel cabin. You can also pay $160 for your own private 'gondola', which is exactly what my friend and I did. It was worth it because you don't have to share with 6 other people. Bought tickets and started lining up for the ride around 5:30pm. The line seemed long, but we were only in line for 20-25 minutes, by the time we got into our private gondola, sun has just set. So we got the perfect night view of the carnival and the waters by the pier. It was absolutely beautiful :) You get 3 spins, so you will have plenty of time to capture photos and enjoy the beauty of Hong Kong. Highly recommend doing this! I say skip the carnival :P

Yelp
This is one of the few attractions in HK that I've been meaning to get to but haven't been able to until now. It's too bad that it wasn't a nice and sunny day but a few clouds didn't hinder the experience. Each adult is $20 unless you want to pay $160 for a private gondola and not have to ride with other people. It wasn't too long of a wait. We were told that the ride would be around 15 minutes and you go around 3 times. It's nice that it stops at certain intervals so you can really take in the view. I did hear someone in the same gondola day that he wished it didn't stop and just kept going round. I'd like to go back another time of day to see the city at dusk and at night.

Yelp
The Hong Kong Observation Wheel, also the only Ferris Wheel in all of Hong Kong, is definitely one of the places people should arguably ride on at least once when in Hong Kong. Definitely cute for a photo op or to see Hong Kong from up high! The ride itself isn't too bad. It's about 20 HK dollars a person, and you'll be able to loop 3 times around the wheel. The total ride lasts about 15-20 minutes. Pros -Slightly air conditioned inside the cabin, so in existing hot weather it's nice. There's also an emergency call button in case you need to descend as quickly as you need to for whatever reason. Cons -I mean while it was nice I don't think I'd really go back on this ever again. I feel like once you've gone on once, after a few photos you're pretty much set. As someone who deals with a crippling fear of heights, it doesn't rock back and forth a ton, unlike the LA Disneyland's Ferris Wheel which can damn near give me a heart attack with the amount of rocking the carriage does. After the first turn around it actually became a lot more of a pleasant experience. Overall, a good experience. Did I enjoy my time on? I did. But would I go again? Unless I was going back on at night, I probably wouldn't come back because I feel like I've had my fill. I'd give the Observation Wheel a high 3, weak 4 because while I did enjoy my time here, it probably wasn't that big of a highlight in comparison of what else Hong Kong has to offer.

Yelp
The Hong Kong Observation Wheel is right outside of the ferry pier at the Central Station. It's located on Hong Kong Island and was built in 2013. It's 197-foot tall and costs $100HK to get on. When we passed it, there was no line. Either it was closed or it wasn't busy. It was around 3:30 in the afternoon. We did see a wedding party, taking wedding pics in front of the wheel.

Yelp
On one hand this attraction is pretty good in the sense that you have a view unlike any other on Hong Kong. However, you have to share your place with other people (unless you shell out 1000 HK$ for a private pod) The other thing is, you need to keep in mind that some moments are going to be more "worthy" than other depending on what you value. If you like to look to every little city detail and the people in the carnival, day is good. But to watch the brillance of city's building light can be an experience in itself. I say this because you only get 3 spins. So if you want to see the sunset on Hong Kong, you need to be timed to a T.

Yelp
The HK Observation Wheel is quickly becoming a hot thing to do while visiting HK or a quick romantic detour for date night near Central. Admission is $100HKD per person and a ride equals to 3 or 4 cycles depending how busy the attraction is. Price isn't too bad. I can easily find a few dozen places you can blow $100HKD on HK Island and not get the same amount of amusement. I highly recommend this at night. The daytime view is scenic but it is currently marred by construction next door. At night, none of the construction is visible. Weekday lines aren't too bad. Expect to wait about 20 minutes or so.

Yelp
I went in October. As always, Hong Kong always have a dusty sky, but the view was great! Temperature was towards a warmer side for me compare to the locals layering up. So it wasn't too hot in the cart. There should be a better ventilation. I can imagine how hot it will get if it's in the summer time. You cannot beat the price now $20HKD vs $100HKD couple years ago.

Yelp
Price: 100HKD for adults (approximately 13USD) Each ride has four rotations. We walked a short distance to the wheel from the IFC Mall and enjoyed the pier along the way. Since we were there on a Thursday afternoon and it was very cloudy, there was no line! It's not a very large observation wheel, but it was decently-priced and a nice way to view Victoria Harbor quickly. The cabins are also small allowing room for just four people and sitting only. It was easy to take photographs of the views, however, the glass has a pretty heavy blue tint. The wheel itself makes a nice subject with the water and skyline in the background. We enjoyed taking photos all around. I'm not familiar with all the options to view the Hong Kong skyline and Victoria Harbor, so I can't say this is the best way to go, but we enjoyed it. Though, I probably wouldn't take another ride during a future visit.

Yelp
Quite a good deal to stay on the wheel for 4 rounds at HKD100. The Hong Kong night view is as great as usual but since IFC and the wheel itself are so lighten up there is reflection taking pictures of the harbor inside the box. The other side facing Central is fine tho. The ride is very stable which is a good news for those who are afraid of height. *Disclaimer: Comments and pictures are originated from my friend who ride the wheel. Not a big fan of ferris wheel myself :P

Yelp
If you have time and a few bucks the Observation Wheel is sort of fun but the views you get here aren't really any better than those you get from the Star Ferry or some of the free observation areas in the city. PROS: - Four complete rotations so if you miss a view or picture the first time around there's no need to fret. - The wheel allows you to go up relatively high to gain some perspective. - The location is convenient to the ferry terminal and the IFC. - Free WiFi. - Short/nonexistent lines mid-week in the late afternoon. CONS: - At $100HKD it's far cheaper than riding on the London Eye, but more expensive than the Navy Pier Ferris Wheel in Chicago ($8USD), and about the same cost as the Seattle Great Wheel Seattle ($13USD). - The views don't really justify the cost given that it only costs $2.50HKD to ride the top deck of the Star Ferry to Kowloon where you can get better views of the whole panorama of the Hong Kong skyline. - The setup of the wheel causes it to sit at an odd angle (relative to the harbor) so you can't really see all of Hong Kong from one window. - The wheel has lighting inside and out, which causes glare and makes it difficult to take clean, clear photos. - Four rotations is really unnecessary. Two would be sufficient. - The construction zone right around the wheel is somewhat unsightly.

Yelp
$20 HKD per person for a ride. The ride is about 15 minutes long and you get to go around 3 times. I came on a Friday afternoon and there was no line at all. The seats once you get inside look and feel very new and clean still. Definitely something to try if you're in the area just to get a different view/perspective of Central from up above.

Yelp
Actually being on the wheel is relatively cool, but not even close to worth the hour plus you have to stand in line and wait for the ~10 minute ride. Keep in mind that my 1.5 hour wait was WITH an online reservation for a certain time--7pm. You're advised on your confirmation that the "que" starts 15 minutes before your ride time, so I line up at 6:40. The line was already wrapped around the wheel for the 7pm time. I didn't end up actually getting on until 8pm. Clearly they sell WAY more for each time slot than could ever be reasonably accommodated. Wtf you have to reserve a specific time if it's totally irrelevant is beyond me. The waiting was exacerbated but screaming children everywhere around you, who are presumably also annoyed about having to stand around and wait forever. It's possible that I just went at an extra busy time, but when it was 7:15 and I had hardly moved 30 feet from my original position at 6:40 I asked an employee if this wait time was usual and she said yes. I would've left if I hadn't already prepaid (and waiting 25 minutes). It's not super expensive and is sort of neat, but I wouldn't do it again if it was free. The skyline views are somewhat obstructed by the glare of the glass enclosure of the car if you go at night (day may be better) and I've been on cooler Ferris wheels for wayyyy shorter waits. Overall I would not recommend unless you want to pay someone to hold your place in line or something.
