It’s a must visit for us in 2026 especially for the Ancient Egypt Unveiled: Treasures from Egyptian Museums. With the exhibition presents an extraordinary collection of 250 precious artifacts. From their website: The Hong Kong Palace Museum presents over 900 priceless treasures from the Palace Museum. Many of them are on display in Hong Kong for the first time, while others have never been shown to the public before. The Museum regularly presents special exhibitions featuring Chinese art and culture, as well as art and treasures from other parts of the world. There’s some interactive content, nice ancient clocks and etc. The ticket price is very reasonable and also exclusive doll blind box!

Visited the Hong Kong Palace Museum by bus , super convenient and easy to get to. The overall atmosphere is great. The place is clean, neat, and very well organized. I went for the Ancient Egypt exhibition and it was really interesting. The area around the museum is also lovely. It’s right next to the sea with a beautiful view, and there are lots of people hanging out, having picnics, and enjoying the space. A really nice spot to spend an afternoon.

This private museum exudes a great aesthetic vibe and showcases an impressive collection. When I visited, they were hosting an ancient Egyptian exhibit. The exhibit was spectacular and truly worth seeing. The staff was also wonderful during my visit. One of them even helped me find the museum shop when I got lost. I really appreciated how friendly and approachable they were. The entire structure is very Instagrammable. It also offers a beautiful view of Victoria Harbour. I was sad that I could only stay for a few hours because I was almost late for my flight. I will definitely come back the next time I’m in the area.

The Hong Kong Palace Museum's Egypt exhibition is well-organized and informative, offering a great understanding of the subject. The rest of the museum is also quite interesting and worth exploring. It's not too large, so you can cover everything in about half a day. The best way to get there is by bus, as it stops right in front of the museum. If you take the MTR, you'll have to walk about 1 km from the kow loon station.

The building itself is striking and modern, and the galleries inside showcase beautiful and historically significant Chinese art and artifacts. The exhibits are well curated, informative, and thoughtfully presented, so you come away with a much deeper appreciation for the history and artistic richness on display. The museum is spacious and well organized, making it easy to explore at your own pace without feeling rushed. There are also interactive elements and explanations in multiple languages, which makes the experience accessible for international visitors.

A museum with some amazing exhibitions one might not expect. We bumped into an Egyptian exhibition with some amazing artefacts we didn’t even see in London. There were also some exquisite small exhibitions, including one on royal silk robes & one on interior deco of the royal palace in China. The terrace outside was one of the best places to see sunset. It was a bit cloudy when we were there, but still really worth the trip.

A good museum experience overall though there is room for improvement. Access if travelling by MTR involves a 10-15 minute walk and the surrounding landscape will be far more attractive in the future. We only discovered the quick, convenient direct ferry to/from Central whilst we were there. The building is architecturally attractive, in particular the interior public spaces. Entry with pre-booked tickets on a weekday was prompt and easy. We loved the tickets which were valid for an entire month, giving great flexibility to tourists. We visited the ‘Dawn to Dusk’ exhibition, which gives a good introduction to imperial life in the Qing Dynasty without delving too deep. We further enjoyed ‘The Ways in Patterns’ which offered a more contemporary presentation of traditional Chinese arts. This was very well-executed. Our one major disappointment at the PM was the poor F&B offerings. Unlike at many museums in the West or even in Singapore, we found only one restaurant offering lunch, and of a poorer standard in terms of decor and food than most high-quality restaurants in HK. This definitely needs improvement.
