The 23 Best Things to See and Do in Hong Kong in 2025

"I take kids and curious adults to the Hong Kong Space Museum in its distinctive egg-shaped building on the Tsim Sha Tsui Promenade because it’s a fun, educational stop with astronomy exhibits, a digital planetarium, interactive shows in the Omnimax theatre, and hands-on displays; it’s at 10 Salisbury Road and is open Monday, Wednesday–Friday 1pm–9pm and Saturday–Sunday 10am–9pm (closed Tuesdays) with Exhibition admission around 10 HKD and Space Theater 24 HKD." - Matthew Kepnes

The Hong Kong Space Museum 香港太空館is an iconic, egg-shaped museum and planetarium located in Tsim Sha Tsui, Hong Kong, dedicated to the popularization of astronomy and space science. It features interactive exhibits and a state-of-the-art Space Theatre. The museum is divided into two main wings, each offering unique experiences: Stanley Ho Space Theatre: Located within the iconic egg-shaped dome, this theatre features a 23-meter hemispherical screen and advanced digital projection systems for immersive Sky Shows and 3D dome films. Hall of the Cosmos: This permanent exhibition on the ground floor focuses on the origins and evolution of the universe, with interactive displays on topics like black holes, the Big Bang, and galaxy formation. Hall of Space Exploration: Located on the first floor, this hall takes visitors through humanity's space travel history, with exhibits including replicas of spacecraft like the Shenzhou, models of Mars rovers, and a VR experience of walking on the Moon and Mars. The museum is very kid-friendly, with many interactive exhibits and activities designed for children. The museum is located at 10 Salisbury Road, Tsim Sha Tsui, Kowloon, Hong Kong. MTR: It is within walking distance of both the Tsim Sha Tsui and East Tsim Sha Tsui MTR stations. Ferry: It is also near the Star Ferry Pier.

It kept my young kids happy and interested for 2 1/5 hours. All signage is in Chinese and English $10 entry per adult, children walk in free It gets busy on rainy and very hot week ends As your typical HK museum, it comes with many don’t (and aunties who’ll jump at any kid who breaks the many rules). It spoils the fun a bit, HK could learn from Taipei and make it a genuinely kid-friendly experience experience.

The museum was very average — it’s more suitable for kids than adults. Honestly, I felt misled by online recommendations that listed it as a “must-visit” attraction in Hong Kong. In reality, it felt more like a local weekend spot for residents rather than something worth visiting as a tourist. If you’re looking for an exciting or unmissable activity, this isn’t the place. Unless you’re really into astronomy and cosmic phenomena, other than that you might find it quite boring.

Good place for kids and family. Went there solo myself. Didn't saw the movie, but heard it was nice. They have nice equipment there. Very close to tsim sha tsui location, walk 10 mins. Would recommend to visit as family.

Visited the Hong Kong Space Museum's outdoor area tonight (July 23, 2025), and it was a fantastic experience! The open space along the Tsim Sha Tsui waterfront is beautifully lit, with stunning views of the Victoria Harbour skyline as a backdrop. The iconic egg-shaped dome of the museum is a photo magnet, especially at night when it glows softly against the city lights. The outdoor exhibits, like the sundial and astronomical models, are intriguing and spark curiosity, even for a quick stroll. It's a perfect spot for families, space enthusiasts, or anyone looking for a unique evening walk. The vibe was calm yet inspiring, with the cool harbor breeze adding to the charm. Highly recommend stopping by if you're in the area-it's a little gem that blends science and scenic beauty!

I did not go inside, but the architecture looks crazy. The whole museum is something you do not see anywhere. It reminds me of an Apple Store made fully of glass. If you like architecture, definitely visit and experience it.

Located on the HK promenade. Easily accessible by multiple modes of public transport. Came across this option for things to do while visiting HK. Was staying at TST, so just a short walking distance away. Our 2 13yos had an amazing time. The entry ticket to the space museum is very reasonably priced and tickets for students are cheaper. There's 1 museum at the ground floor where you get to learn about the galaxies, planets and stars, with very informative and interactive displays and activities inside. Another museum / display on the 1st floor, where the past and future of space travel have been shown in detail. Accompanied by displays, artifacts and activities. On the 1st floor, there's a dome shaped cinema where movies/shows related to nature and space - dinosaurs, the Arctic and space - the 3 movies being played when we visited. There's a schedule that you can view online as well. These are paid and you can opt for them. This was a good experience for both adults and children. They enjoyed a lot. Worth a couple of hours, if you have time to spare.
