New York's Chinatown Needs Your Love More Than Ever Due to Fears Over Coronavirus

"A combination butcher shop and roast-meat take-out. My friend George Chew, born and raised in Chinatown, is a huge fan of their soy-sauce chicken. 124 Mott St." - Grace Young

I used to come here frequently and was always happy with their charm and food quality. Today bought a pound of roast pork to be met with almost half of it being chewy gristle / fatty pieces — like chewing gum. Utterly disappointed especially since the butcher offered a friendly smile saying this was one of his best slices.

The man preparing the food is very courteous in a stern manner. The duck is juicy and the bbq pork is tasty (not the fatty nor burnt type that is served in Singapore, but still it is good). For the value it is hard to beat.

This place sells the best Chinese style roasted peanuts of all the types tried. 有小时候喜欢吃的盲公佬花生(咸脆花生)味道。Perhaps it brings back youth and memories. I live in SF, always try to get the roasted peanuts from here when visiting or ask friends to get it for me when they come to visit SF.

Old school butcher shop. I always order off the menu. the “white cloud” pig trotter is delicious. They get it from the walk in fridge. The chef slices the meat nice and thin. Mom always order the mince meat pie and rice.

The duck is super authentic! This is my favorite braised food shop.

Google
The roast pig, pork, duck has been thus far delicious, however the bean skin with water duck they hard sell was just a major disappointment. I ended trashing the dish. Although, the sauce is very flavorful, the duck meat just tasted like a century old dried duck meat, which have been reboiled.

Tasty roast pork over rice. Large portions and very inexpensive. Just as good or better than any other place in chinatown and much much easier on the wallet.

Cheap and super tasty, especially the peanut , but don’t ask for service and cleanness 😂😂😂

Yelp
Found out that this place has $6 meals. I ordered a roast pork which was freshly made and hung while I was waiting to order. Some elderly ladies might cut the line and shout their order before I can get my order in. This is only because I didn't know which way the line formed. Not a bad price for the amount of food.

Yelp
My family loves to get all our roasted meats here, as well as regular raw meat. Plus there's a fruit and vegetable stand set up right outside. Time to try all the Chinese BBQ items: Roast Chicken (Sieu Gai) Salt Baked Chicken Soy Sauce Chicken Roast Duck Flat Roast Duck (Pei-Pa Gnop) Lo Siu Duck Roast Pork Loin (Char Siu) Whole Roast Pig BBQ Ribs Pork Sausage Other assorted pig, chicken, duck parts & innards Once in a while they even have cuttlefish! You can even pre-order a whole suckling pig for that special occasion like a dowry to trade for your fiancée's hand in marriage! (my wife required the trade of a full size roast pig and a few chickens BTW) Whenever I don't feel like cooking, I grab half a roast duck, a pound of char siu and I am set for dinner. If you get the roast chicken, make sure they give you a cup of the 5 spice sauce that is awesome with the white meat.

Yelp
Great food & great prices. The Store doubles as a butcher shop. Buy cooked or raw and cook your own. A little gem that is still able survive in this time of Gentrification.

Yelp
Hong Li meat market is another wonderful option in Chinatown to pick up authentic Chinese BBQ. My regular orders here are the roast pork, roast duck, and the soy sauce chicken. The prices here are pretty standard for Chinatown but the quality I found is consistently high. Don't be afraid if you see a line because it moves pretty quickly. Along with BBQ meats they also sell fresh raw meat at great prices. Highly recommended!

Yelp
I ordered a duck and roasted pork rice dish. It was pretty cheap at $5. What a bargain, right? Wrong! I got to work and once I opened the lid, I got pissed. Roasted pork was mainly all fat and the duck was all skin and bone. What a waste of time and money. Never going here again! And I found a piece of hair in the rice.

Yelp
Got a half roast duck for 12$, great deal! They also sell roast pork, roast chicken and raw meat. The butcher/cashier doesn't really speak English, but we managed to communicate. Highly recommend.

Yelp
Probably 1st time I'm reviewing a place in Chinatown with good roast duck so here it is. I've walked this street frequently but never entered this place until today. Been to several places like this one where the cooked ducks are a hanging display at at the window, and while many are comparably tasty and meaty enough and the prices are similar ($11.50 for a half roast duck), the proximity to everything else you need right nextdoor (fish, vegetables, fruits, meats, sauces) make this small quick in-and-out shop a place I will remember moving forward and definitely try again especially their other roasted meats.

Yelp
The cashier was very rude and not patient at all. The cashier was talking so fast that there was spit coming out of her mouth! It was very disgisting I would not recommend this place.
