Hongdae Korean BBQ Hongik Sutbul Galbi

The grilled pork was excellent overall. The pork neck was especially delicious, and the pork shoulder was just as impressive — nicely charred on the outside while remaining tender and juicy on the inside. The grilling was done very well, giving the meat a great smoky flavor. There was a small issue at first with the soybean paste (doenjang), which was initially said to cost 1,000 won, but in the end it was not charged, which was a pleasant surprise. The fresh vegetables and side dishes were tasty and complemented the grilled meat nicely. The restaurant atmosphere was decent and comfortable for a casual meal. However, the service was disappointing. The staff were not very attentive, which affected the overall dining experience. Because of this, I have to deduct some points from the overall rating, despite how good the food was.

Amazing experience! The meat was delicious, especially the galbi, super tender and flavorful. The staff was friendly and quick to help with the grill. Great atmosphere and authentic taste. Highly recommend if you're craving BBQ!

Just ate here and honestly, the service was pretty disappointing. One of the younger guys was fine, but the young woman and older man were super unfriendly. The girl looked like she didn’t want to be there, and the older guy seemed annoyed when I asked if the beef spare ribs were marinated. He got weirdly defensive, and when I said thank you after paying, he just walked off without a word. Food was okay — not the best quality meat, but prices are cheap. I did really like the bibim naengmyeon though — it had a nice, slightly soupy texture like mul naengmyeon.

Not that bad. Probably because of no staff at all. Just 1 staff at 4pm. The food looks nice.

This is my second time eating at this restaurant because of the taste of the food. But it's probably the last time because the woman staff don't have much service mind. Her expression was clearly dissatisfied when I asked about the food. When asked, she didn't answer with any word but made a face as bad emotion. Please improve service mind first!!!

Affordable pork and beef in the middle of Hongdae’s hustle and bustle. Some reviews say that the old man/owner is grumpy but he actually isn’t. He just looks grumpy but he really cares. He had just opened the store when we visited and my friend was fixing the aircon vent, he saw him do this so after, he kept making sure that my friend was not feeling hot. :) We had a good meal here!

I hope I can give a zero rating. STAY AWAY from this place!!! The worst BBQ experience ever. No smiles from staff and boss. I went with my family (with 3 children) for our last dinner while in Seoul. Once seated, we were told to order 5 mains but we ended up ordering 4 mains and 1 side. About half of the pork belly was literally fat!!!! Complaint to the staff but was informed it was too late to change the pork belly. When paying, the male boss never said a word, not even thanked us for coming. The restaurant was full when we dined in and I can tell all were tourist. This place is a tourist trap, so my recommendation is to stay away from this place. It is highly likely you will be disappointed. There are many other BBQ places within the vicinity, there were even 2 other BBQ restaurants next to this place.
