Hongdae Street

This is the beginning of the Hongdae shopping street. I actually like this part better as it is quainter than its continuation. You have lots of varied stores, cafés and restaurants all catering to young people. It's a very lively area and you get to see youths crowding the place.

An amazing shopping district filled street performers, the newest fashion trends, big name brands, affordable Korean retailers, and every restaurant your heart (and stomach) can desire. Definitely recommend at least a full day exploring the city streets and meandering your way into the club district (just south) as the sun sets.

Many shoe stores and shopping districts! Very recommend if you like to go shopping. A lot of shopping areas, we found a shopping centre! There's a specific level for anime lovers. There's a "halal guys" food store there. It's not as expensive as myeongdong. More to youth vibe and trendy fashion trends. Went on a Sunday morning! Quite crowded. Recommend to spend at least for 1 day.

Be amazed by the bright lights and stores in this area. It's very crowded with tourists and students, which is a plus because the food and drinks are quite cheap. If you come here, don't forget to go for a Korean BBQ and Soju

Great place to shop if you are young! There are mostly college students here for shopping, eating, and clubbing. I saw a lot of karaoke places here and street performances. I did most of my shopping here! I recommend!

It's a nice street. Bustling and colorful but mainly for the younger generation. Shopping is mainly fashion and cosmetics. Worth the visit if you're in the area. I guess I would enjoy it more if it wasn't summer.

We stayed right in the heart of Hongdae during our Summer vacation. This area is such a young vibe and so much to do. Lots of good eats around the area and at night, wow, the Hongdae street comes alive with music, busking, street food stalls, shopping and the atmosphere is super energetic. We loved how convenient it was to our hotel, less than 2 blocks! And we can enjoy 24hr kimbaps, soups and stews! The only downside, you’ll see flashing lights from your hotel… and the morning after, the streets are a bit dirty - not too crazy (it’s worse in nyc… lol).

***Trendy clothes and lots of food options*** Best to come on the weekend. Sunday seems to have the most street performers from the afternoon to evening time. Bring some cash and support the young artists.
