This hotel was quite quirky. The rooms we stayed in were very basic. There were much nicer rooms available. The Chinese restaurant was OK. Hard to communicate as I didn't speak their language. The French restaurant on the ground floor was very good. Great local chocolate for sale in the shop.

for the positive .. clean, AC worked. shower had hot water after 5 minutes of running ...||wifi does NOT work. supposedly it has been down for months. they have a back up Welkom Telecom, something like that. this does NOT work. then they gave me a portable hotspot. that did NOT work||im sorry dont charge me $140 a night, if you cant deliver what you state.|||i told them not to clean my room. of course they did. and then on top of that, they threw out my melatonin gummies in the fridge for some reason. hotel of course does not have Do Not Disturb signs. ||so many other little things.||in general the hotel is very dilapidated. in another ten years, this will be a coll dark tourism site.

This hotel was chosen for us by a friend. The room was fine. It's old but it's Solomon Islands so it seemed to be in line with other non-resort places. We did not like having to climb up many steps to get to our room, but again, we did not choose the hotel.||We only stayed one night so we did not use the pools but they looked nice. The French restaurant had delicious food. It cost us the equivalent of $78USD for 3 people for a full meal so that was very reasonable. We had breakfast at the smaller cafe and the food was also good.||So the experience was good, except for the steps, which can't be helped.

This place is definitely not worth the money. The wifi is not easily accessible, some rooms are in the range of the hotspots, but others are not. The reception does not tell you the amount of internet is limited per guest, so if you do manage to get on the wifi, you might use up your quota and then have no internet (not pleasant when you arrive from a long trip somewhere where you don't know anyone). The safe in the room didn't work, the shower head was falling apart and it was difficult taking a shower. There was hot water only once (it's the tropics, how can the water not be warm?) otherwise cold showers, and then there were the cockroaches. If you don't kill them, they will come back, the same one! There is complimentary coffee in the room, tea and sugar, however the little box it is in is full of tiny ants, so you don't really want to use any of it. The pool is nice, maybe not clean enough, but decent. The hotel is located on a hillside, so there is a lot of going up and down, not convenient for luggage. I would not recommend this place at all

If I could give 0 stars I would. This hotel is the worst I have ever stayed in, and that is saying a lot. It is old, and lots of lovely hotels are old, but this is not lovely. It is a disgrace- filthy, grubby, and it's owner seems more interested in showing the world that he was once knighted by the Queen rather than care about his guests. When you see the photos I post with this review you will understand. |As I checked in I saw the filthy mass of power cords at the front desk and things went downhill from there. |From reception I had to climb 9 flights of stairs ( too bad if you have a disability) to get to the room. I consider myself lucky I was not in one of the higher rooms! |The bathroom should be condemned- mould ridden and filthy. The curtain at the window ( yes a curtain) looks like it had not been washed in years. I told the hotel to replace it. The tile grout at the base of the toilet is badly stained ( gee what would do that?). It is so bad you need a shower after having a shower. |The bed is so horrific you feel the bed springs as soon as you sit on it. It is just old and past it's usefulness. I can't bear to look at what is under the pillow cover for fear of having nightmares. Let's talk facilities: no wifi, one tea bag per day ( actually the room attendant just told me the usual allocation is NO teabags just Nescafé sachets of coffee) but you better have it black because there is no milk. You have one towel- so use it sparingly. No shampoo or conditioner, just the coin sized little soaps wrapped in paper. The TV is the size of a small computer monitor but the reception is so terrible you can't watch the 3 available channels anyway. No clock, no radio or anything like that. The curtains are so thin ( and dirty) you can't sleep because of all the light that shines in ( that's if the bed springs haven't got to you). The final straw came when I went to iron some clothes for work the next day-OMG the ironing board cover was thick with dirt and mould and what even looked like blood. I marched it right down those stairs at 11 o'clock at night to shame them into finding me another one. I could go on and on. The baseline is that this place needs to be condemned. Yes, it is a third world country, but that is not an excuse for filth and just not caring about your guests. Stay there at your own peril.

Appalling. Filthy, run down, no wifi, no tea bags, basically nothing- not even shampoo and conditioner. The worst hotel I've ever stayed at. It is old, and very very run down and dirty. I could feel the springs in the mattress, the curtains were stained and let in all the light at night. Look at the picture of the ironing board - that basically sums up this hotel. The grout around the toilet was stained ( guess how). You must walk up 9 flights of stairs to get to the first lot of rooms. At a few more if you get a higher room. Just don't do it.

The friendly and attentive attitude of the hotel employees is especially deserving of praise. They went above and beyond during my stay to accommodate my needs and make me feel at home. Their commitment to client happiness was obvious and greatly valued, whether it was in the form of transportation arrangements, area recommendations, or simply polite talks.|My extended stay was made much more valuable by the hotel's amenities, like the pool and fitness facility. |My nine-month stay at the Honiara Hotel was just fantastic, if I may add so. For making my stay at the Honiara Hotel so delightful, I would like to publicly thank the entire staff. With absolute conviction, I can say that the Honiara Hotel is a fantastic choice that far exceeds expectations.

Would not recommend. Very run down, not well maintained. Pool closed for repairs. Beach very dirty in front of hotel. Did not enjoy the nights I stayed there. I was there January 2023, perhaps changes have been made since then. But at time of my stay was less than desirable. As well as very limited lousy wifi service
