This is just an amazing place to stay. The stuff is just awesome! The cove is like paradise and snorkeling is like heaven. You will find turtles in the cove at nearly all the time. The water is calm and the visibility under water is perfect. The condos are simple but well equiped. The only missing thing is a air conditioning. Very familier place.

Google
We love this place. It is a small two story development. Each condo is owned separately but rented via a single in side management center. They all have a great lanai (deck) facing the cove/ocean, where we spend lots of time reading & watching. There is a full kitchen with all utensils & dishes. And Tv. There are gas grills at the front of the cove. You can snorkel but it's hard to get in and out of the cove as there is a rocky shore. There are typically many sea turtles in the cove and they often sun themselves on the rocky shore. This is a quiet mostly older couple type place with strict bedtime no noise rules. It's hard if you have kids as there is no ball throwing or rough housing tolerated. You can walk a short distance to a sandy beach.

Google
Amazing spot with access to some of the best snorkeling on the entire island for turtles. We counted 12 at one point. Everyone is super friendly and I would absolutely book to stay here again

Google
Probably the most amazing cove! A sea turtle’s sanctuary, a decent amount of living coral left, and tons of fish to see while snorkeling. Plus the sound of the ocean to sleep to at night. What could be better!

Google
I've been here about 7 times now and it's the only place I'd stay. The turtles are wonderful. Missed Su not being there but Bree is nice too. Wind slows us down the past day but enjoyed the surfers.

Google
We stayed here for a week in August of 2021 and got married on the grounds. The most AMAZING week, beautiful location, welcoming and wonderful staff. All around 5 stars. Going back next month and we cannot wait!

This beautiful place is magical. We snorkeled with the turtles everyday. It is small, quiet and very friendly. I well definitely be staying there again and again.

Google
Amazing beautiful place close to everything we wanted to do but secluded enough to feel relaxed & refreshed. Secluded cove for snorkling.

Yelp
We stayed in unit 210 and felt so relaxed and at-home that we didn't want to leave! The condo is clean, specious and nicely decorated with a great view of the cove. The kitchen is fully stocked with everything needed to make a beautiful meal. The property is immaculate and everyone is very friendly. We enjoyed using the community bbq area and pool, which must be heated since the water was always the perfect temperature. Snorkeling in the cove is fantastic - lots of giant sea turtles! This complex is a 5-minute walk to Napili beach and some great restaurants. Don't hesitate to book your stay here! You'll love it!

Yelp
Honokeana Cove is a great place to stay in Maui for those looking for something a bit more low-key and relaxed. I booked this for a last minute business trip and could not have been happier. We were in unit 104 which featured the normal Hawaiian kitsch which gives you that island feel. The place was clean but a bit dated, which was completely acceptable for the great price we received. Everything seemed to work well, including the wifi and the television/cable. This unit did have a nice new smart tv which was nice. One of the huge pluses of this place is the located right on the water. So many other condo units that are "ocean front" still leave you hundreds of yards from the water. This place is as close as you can get. About 20 paces and your on the easy access stairway to snorkeling heaven. We saw no less than 20 turtles over a few days. The amount of reef fish were also amazing and included the Humumu (Hawaiian State Fish) and various other types of reef trigger fish, butterfly fish, parrot fish, many colors of trumpetfish, needlefish, tangs, wrasse, and some deeper free dives in the middle and entrance portions of the cove allowed us to great sightings of larger jacks, larger cornetfish, and a huge school of barracuda! We were in Maui the last week of February and the weather was great. Warmer days and nice breezes at night that cooled off the condo. Our unit did have some snorkeling gear but I would recommend either to bring your own, stop at Costco for a deal on a kit, or rent. We found that most of the other people staying at the Cove were regular visitors, with many staying a month of the year for several decades. Everyone was very friendly and quick to recommend a local place to eat or check out. The location is easy to access Ka'anapali, Lahaina, Napili, Kapalua, and the famous Honolua Bay.

Yelp
SNORLE WITH TURTLES!!! CONS: n/a PROS: Easy snorkeling Tons of fish Lots of turtle Go to Napili Beach. Walk towards the gazebo. Follow the path in between the water and the fence south. You'll come upon a gate to the Napili Resorts. Go through that and you're THERE!

Yelp
Turtles! It's tricky to enter this cove. You have to walk in front of condos on the north side of the cove and time the waves to get in along a rocky area. Be careful! The cove has much to see--lots of tropical fish and tons of sea turtles! It was easier for us to exit on the rocky shore. There's a shower there, too, and you can get out of the condo complex through the exit-only gate.

Yelp
It's always important when reading these reviews to consider the source. While some consider the ritz a five star place on maui, I would never stay in a high rise with a view of the garden when on maui. We stay here primarily because I can have a cup of coffee or Mai tai on my lanai and literally flip a coin into the ocean from where I sit. We are that close to the water. After at least 7 visits to Maui, I've done all the tourist stuff, and really enjoy hanging out by the water. Sure some of the rooms could be updated (each is individually owned), and maid service would be nice, but the view is ridiculous and that is most important to me. Kapalua golf course is 2 min away, great restaurants no more than 15 min away. All in all, great place to stay. Not great for kids, just sayin. Oh ya, almost forgot. $189 a night for a one bedroom. Not exactly expensive.

Yelp
We were going to visit in a month but because of Covid-19 and the fact that we are both over 65 we felt it necessary to postpone our visit. It took less than a five minute phone call for Sue to calm our fears, immediately telling us that they would honor our reservation for a year. I can't tell you how thankful I am for her graciousness since we had booked for two weeks and our reservation was over $4,000. So, we sit at home in our senior community dreaming of a time in the future where we can truly enjoy a visit to Maui and Honokeana.

Yelp
I had a wonderful time here! The snorkeling is great, the atmosphere is great, plenty to do around the island... The only reason I would take a star, is for the wi-fi. The room we had came equipped with it, but no one knew the password. The guest network provided kept dropping. And between T-mobile, AT&T and Sprint, we had no signal. For the most part it was ok, but nowadays everyone researches activities via the Internet, and it was frustrating to have to do that when we were out and about and had signal. Also, I'd really look into the provided videos of the rooms. Our room, although cozy and nice, was very outdated. The oven burns everything to a crisp, and the coils were really unstable. Upon watching other videos, I saw how many rooms had more updated appliances. Our room was 215. Oh, and the afternoon sun is a killer. No AC, so be prepared. The nights were cool in Oct.

Yelp
We love going to Honokeana Cove Condos. That is our condo of choice. Su and Betty are terrific and Ray is awesome also.

Yelp
The management at this condo is among the rudest I've ever encountered. The lady was aggressive and ready to pounce from the moment I walked in the door. I would never step foot back in this place again.

Yelp
Don't bother with this place. There are better resorts right next door that are clean and modern and the employees are very friendly and have better things to do than harass people trying to use their cove access point. You may own the property but you do not own the ocean. The "manager" is rude and the view is obstructed not to mention the property is very old and tired looking. Even after a six year renovation. Do yourself a favor and stay at the Napili point resort next door. You won't regret it. Ps . you don't get new customers by treating potential customers like trash

Yelp
Honokeana Cove is a slice of relaxed paradise. Sure you can stay at the bigger condo complexes with more pools and more people, but if you're tired of that scene and just want to mellow out, swim, and snorkle, this is the place. Once we never got in the car except to go to the store for food. Kapalua is easy walking distance, as is Napili Beach. Say Hi to Sue when you go!

Yelp
We have been coming here for 15 years it is our favorite place. It is a hidden treasure, if you don't need the glix of high rise hotels. The views are beautiful, the people friendly, comfortable units and best of all, the snorkeling. Su Campos is most helpful and friendly. The once a week "pou pou" party gives you a chance to meet up with your neighbors.

Yelp
This place is a jewel in the Napili area. Awesome snorkeling!! Small resort feel, beautiful grounds, view and pretty quiet, unless your unit backs up to the road. Way more noise & traffic than anticipated. Staff nice & helpful. But be careful not to leave clothing behind, somewhere between check out/cleaning & new guests you might not have it returned :( Can be a bit hot in the units, some have a bedroom A/C unit. All and all a great place to stay for a homey old Hawaii feel.

Yelp
My parents, brother and I stayed at Honokeana Cove in early January and it was an amazing unit (#101)! The views alone made this place and our vacation unforgettable. The two-story unit was great for us to spread out and have great views of the cove from practically wherever we were in the unit (the master suite has windows/sliding glass door that allows you to see everything!). The unit was very neat and clean, with plenty of seating, kitchen supplies and books/games to entertain you on your downtime. There is no A/C (ceiling fans and lots of windows), so it did get a little stuffy midday if there was no breeze. It was perfect to have morning breakfast on the upper balcony while overlooking the cove and seeing Molokai off in the distance (you can even see the green turtles swimming and humpback whales out in the ocean) - the sunsets were amazing too! Water Works Sports is within walking distance to rent snorkel equipment - snorkel with the turtles, a variety of fish, and an occasional moray eel down in the coral. The community pool was very nice and never packed, if you aren't a fan of getting into the ocean. There is a semi-private grassy area to the side of the unit to layout. The entire landscape was very well maintained and beautiful. Cathy and Su were great with answering any questions and providing suggestions on things to do. You are about a 15-20 minute drive from downtown Lahaina, which wasn't a bad drive to go out to dinner or walk the streets. We would all highly recommend this unit and the entire Honokeana Cove property for your trip to Maui, as we hope to come back and visit someday! You'll love the views!

Yelp
We had been to Napili many times before and we thought we'd have to stay inland. Then my daughter found the Honokeana Cove Condominiums and said "They have Turtles and Rainbows daily." Upon our arrival, we saw at least ten turtles and two rainbows before we could even unpack. We fell in love with Maui again and our new home in paradise, Honokeana Cove. I was quiet, convenient and clean! Su Campos was awesome and the rest of the crew was always friendly and helpful. Our family of five found the two-bedroom to be spacious and modern, and we will be back every year we can! The parking lot was safe and new, and the access to the ocean was easy and unsurpassed. The pool and the BBQ offer a full view of the Cove. Napili Beach is right next to it and a short walk or swim away. The only concern that we had was whether or not to snorkel or swim anywhere else! We saw more sea life in one day snorkeling at Honokeana Cove than in a decade of other Hawaii visits.

Yelp
Have been going to the "cove" almost yearly since 1997. Have been there in March, April,July, August and October and it is always nice. Have stayed in seven different units and each one is a little different depending on the owners committment to the unit. Now with the virtual tour you know what you are getting, which makes it nice. Su, Betty and now Greg are nice, helpful individuals who work at the Cove and are there to help make your stay easy. The water is beautiful, snorkling is great and the view is outstanding morning, noon and night. If you are looking for a loud party place then the Cove is not the place you are looking for. If you are looking to have fun with friends, family and other guests the sign up...The Cove is a little pricey but rest assurred you do not get ripped off for the money you spend...

Yelp
Daughter was recently married in Maui, many from the wedding party and guests stayed at the Cove. No one was disappointed, this is an excellent place to stay, I could easily repeat and stay again. Like Reed says, you want all the services, go stay at the Ritz. Staff is friendly and attentive, Rooms and grounds very well cared for. I really enjoyed my stay

Susan G.

Yelp
Honokeana cove has better snorkeling than the Molokini/turtle town boat cruise. I know, I have done both. I finally went on that cruise. I never had before because the snorkeling in the cove is so good. Well I don't have to go anywhere else again. The condos are quiet, peaceful and beautiful grounds. Fully equipped condos, I have stayed in at least 6 different ones. I just got back from there. I wish I could stay forever. They never disappoint.

Yelp
We made reservations six months ahead of time for the busy New Year season. Honokeana Cove contacted us less than two weeks before our arrival to let us know that they had to cancel our reservations because a construction project that began months before was not yet completed. They chose to inform us of this fact right before our arrival. We had to scramble for alternate lodging at the height of the tourist season. As compensation, they only offered us a 15% discount if we stayed there again within the next year. In short, they do not deserve your business. There are plenty of better, well-deserving businesses around Napili. DO use the Honokeana Cove for snorkeling, though. It's calm and accessible to the public.

Yelp
My wife and I love Honokeana Cove but would like to caution anyone who is looking into renting one of these units. This year was our 4th visit. The first three visits were fantastic but the 4th visit in Feb 2014, was very disappointing. We decided to rent unit #112 from the owner who has it listed on line. The unit is mediocre at best and the ceiling fan did not work. Our first day there I emailed the owner and told him about the ceiling fan. He thanked me for telling him and said he would get it fixed. We were there for a week and no one showed up to replace the fan. This was not the worst part as I can survive without a ceiling fan. The worst part is that he has not returned my $300 deposit despite promising several times to do so. His excuse has been that he is behind in everything and would get it in the mail. That was almost three months ago and still no $300. I seriously doubt that he ever intended to return it. So, we highly recommend Honokeana Cove but AVOID RENTING UNIT#112 because you will not get your deposit back.
