Hønse-Lovisas house

It is a cute and comfortable cafe directly at the waterfall in the middle of the city. The waffles were freshly made and the coffee was great! The cafe itself is small, but there are a lot of seats outside (not really suitable in the winter tho).

We had an absolutely delightful experience at Hønse-Lovisas House, the perfect finishing point for our walk along the Akerselva. Highly recommended by a friend, this charming spot exceeded all expectations. The hot chocolate was perfectly rich, and the cake was deliciously fresh, making it a wonderful way to warm up. The view of the waterfalls added a magical touch to our visit. We can’t recommend this place enough for a cute date walk or exploration. Five stars!

A truly charming little place, mostly visited by locals, apparently. The memo is rather short, but we'll executed, and the atmosphere and "feel" of it is fantastic. Like dining in s mountain refuge, in the middle of the city, overlooking the park slope and the waterfall... Decidedly worthy of a visit!

If you seek a charming cafe, look about you; seldom will you find better in Oslo, or elsewhere. Come from street level for an easier access, or feel the burn up a steep incline coming from the river walk. Either is worth it for a table near the waterfall, a warm welcome from staff, and satisfying food. It is worth spending time here. Your soul will thank you.

If you want to taste Oslos most authentic waffles with brown cheese, sour cream and jam, along with picturesque surroundings of Oslos river Akerselva, you should definitely visit this place! ❤️

Incredibly delicious, perfectly chewy waffle and great coffee! The setting is simply beautiful, cozy, perfect by the river!

Lovely place with a nice view over the fast running river and waterfall. It’s really small inside but outside there is enough space with table and chairs. One can order a selection of teas and cakes. There is Norwegian beer on tap, lovely!!

Such a cute place, and the food was really good as well. I wish I could've gotten a fried egg for my avocado toast, but it was really good without too 😘
