Amazing food, location, and people! This was the best meal we’ve had in Hawaii in forty years of visits! I loved my seafood and veggie items, and Julia was in rapture with her filet mignon and crab. And Astrid took great care of us. Can’t wait to return. Thank you.

We happened upon this delightful restaurant. We didn’t have reservations but @5:30 we were able to get in & get a beautiful view. The hostesses were very nice & sat us right away. We had a great server as well, lovely lady whose name I forgot. But the food was so great. So many different flavors combined in unique ways. The cocktails were great as well. Very lovely spot right on the water!

Honu is a combination of spectacular gastronomy, incredible service, island ambiance, and beautiful views. My family and I have been living on Maui for 22+ years and we dined here for my sister’s birthday because in our opinion (some may say this is blasphemy but…) Honu blows Mama’s Fish House out of the water. We ordered the ahi poke, ahi bruschetta, oyster shooters, truffle fries, grilled octopus, Mahi Mahi dore style, the special (baby ulu fish with a mushroom risotto), the scallops, the butterscotch pot de crème, and lilikoi cheesecake (and a chocolate mouse came out for a special birthday dessert). Everything was SPECTACULAR - fresh, vibrant, light, and well balanced. This is a can’t-miss spot for a special occasion dinner on Maui!!!

Had dinner here recently after making reservations for an oceanside table and what an amazing experience it was! We were assisted by Jordan who ensured we had an absolutely amazing experience. She was assisted by other staff who all worked to make out experience wonderful. Appetizers included a very flavorful Kale Salad and Carpaccio. Main course included a grilled Mahi mahi and filet mignon which here made to perfection! Dessert included a dish I highly recommend, the Butterscotch Pot de Creme (picture included). It was so amazing we had to take an extra back for another day! Everything was perfect from reservations (highly recommended) to departure. We will definitely be back for more!

Hands down the best meal we had on Maui and meal we’ve had in awhile. The tuna bruschetta was some of the best tuna I’ve ever had. We had the fish special with pesto risotto and a champagne reduction and it was incredible. We shared the lobster and it was also amazing. The butterscotch pot de creme was also incredible. Not a single bad bite of food.

Thanks again Pam, you rock * -wish I caught the name of the Bright blue eyed hostess who originally brought us to our table because she saved our experience at Honu. In the reservation, I asked for a beachside table and mentioned it was my 30th birthday celebration so I’m extra grateful I was able to get the beautiful table I wanted! With me and my best friend both being recovering alcoholics, we were excited to see that Honu has a large Mocktail menu. Jerry was our waiter and excitedly wanted to read off the wines so when I interrupted him to let him know we don’t drink his entire energy changed . It’s like he no longer had interest in serving us or taking our order. He made me feel so uncomfortable that I forgot to order an appetizer before our entrees. When I flagged down the sweet hostess to let her know, Jerry stormed back over and said it was OUR fault for ordering so quickly. The food was delicious, and I wanted to have another mocktail before dessert, but my friend saw my mocktail sitting on the bar for 15 minutes before Jerry Brought it over. It was all watered down when it got to me And it came when my dessert was halfway gone. Not only that, but Jerry said We should’ve picked a different table if we wanted the candle In my dessert to be lit. Just a lot of unnecessary comments from him. All in all, I wanted to appreciate the bright blue eyed woman Who’s positive interactions help made my birthday special. I think her daughter is also a hostess because she is the one who told me our waiter’s name. I hope Jerry can find some aloha in his life!

My wife and I were on our honeymoon and made a reservation at Honu Oceanside, and it may end up being the best decision we make on this trip. This was easily one of the best dining experiences we have EVER had. We sat down outside on the patio sitting right on the edge of the ocean, a truly breathtaking view. We were quickly greeted by our server Megan who was FANTASTIC, she was beyond helpful for us picking food and cocktails on the menu to try and she nailed every suggestion. She was quick to get our drinks and food out and was right there for when we needed anything all night I’ve never had better service at a restaurant. Appetizers we got the Cesar salad, Burrata, & the Filet Mignon Carpaccio and my god were they all 10/10. For dinner I got the Crab Mac & cheese, she got the Scallops. The only down side of getting the appetizers we got was saving room for dinner we both were licking the plate for everything they brought out. To cap off the story we were unlucky in the sense that we were told it never rains in this area and it has been going through a drought, and low and behold while we’re at this amazing spot Mother Nature didn’t want to cooperate. On the fly Megan and Justin one of the owners came over scooted our table under some cover, and made us feel as comfortable as they possibly could have. My wife was sitting there a tad chilly from the wind and rain, and the brought over a shall for her to put on. Seems like small details but I couldn’t leave this part out because of how above and beyond the went from the moment we walked in. Megan, Justin, and the entire staff thank you so much for making this a truly unforgettable dining experience on our honeymoon. If you have got to the end of this long winded review I would do anything possible to get a reservation at Honu Oceanside you will NOT regret it!!!!!

A friend recommended going to Honu, so we came for our last night in Maui & all I can say is wow! The view of the ocean is amazing. Our server, Megan, was great. We were given a complimentary toast for our honeymoon & the food was delicious. It was cheaper than Mama’s Fish House but still expensive, although I think it was worth every penny. I’m so happy we came here before leaving.

Another delicious meal at Honu, every time we visit has been sublime. We were celebrating the festive season as a family together and the restaurant was full of families and couples enjoying the sunset view, the strong cocktails, and of course the menu and great service. Throughout our meal we had our server, the manager and sub manager all greet us and make sure we were enjoying our meal and that we had everything we needed. We ate too much, but with culinary excellence on offer it is difficult not to! DRINKS Pho cocktail - an unusual savory drink with stages of flavors that hit at different points, short glass adorned with herbs, satisfyingly different and one of my fave's on island Lilikoi lemonade - tart and refreshing Bees Knees - lavender tinted liquid and a honey aftertaste, guaranteed to get you buzzing Alcohol free beer - great to see this on the menu for the non drinkers/nominated drivers who don't want to drink soda all evening. It is becoming a trend and many restaurants are including it on their drinks menu which is fantastic APPETIZERS Mushroom soup - umami creamy goodness with a condensed mushroom taste and a herby oil drizzle to cut the creaminess, served with a sliver of toast. I love mushrooms and this hit the spot and left me craving for more. The toast could have had a bit more salt or flavouring, however it didn't matter as the soup was so yummy Poke - A large serving with purple Molokai sweet potato chips and melt in the mouth fish. Avocado adds a fresh hit. We all really liked this dish, and we live on island so are used to poke, but this dish took it up a notch. Delish Oyster shooters - served in shot glasses on ice, cool and spicy and oh so nicey MAINS Divers Scallops - I looooove this dish, I always tell myself I'm going to order something else when we visit, and always end up ordering it...lol. Melt in the mouth scallops nestled on mashed potato with a mushroom sauce. The scallops are huge, the gravy umami and the mushrooms add an extra texture, the mash soft and comforting. I wonder if they used sweet potato mash it might improve the colour and sweetness of the dish? Braised Veal Ossobuco - a huge dish of creamy polenta adorned with a large amount of veal, including a marrow fork to dig for the gelatinous goodness, veg and a port demi glaze to finish it off. My daughter devoured this with delight, and exclaimed it was one of the best Ossobuco she had tasted Fish of the day - Hubbs dived into the risotto topped with mahi mahi and 2 huge shrimp and surfaced replete and happy We were going to order a dessert to share but realized we just didn't have room, which was a pity as their desserts are deliciously tempting. With Kamaaina discount our meal became more affordable to enjoy a first class culinary treat on a special occasion. Bravo to all the staff who worked hard during the festive season to make our meal memorable. I think this is one of the best restaurants on island!

We were visiting from O'ahu for my birthday and my husband made reservations at Honu for my birthday night. When he made reservations, he also requested an outside table (by the ocean) to not only celebrate my birthday but also our recent nuptials. On the day of, we were greeted and seated right away, which was nice. However, they sat us next to the pillar/wall on the inside of the restaurant, which is the reason for the one star reduction. Other than that, their food and service was soooo good. For their buratta appetizer, I requested to change out the bread that it normally comes with for gluten-free flat bread and it was heaven AND perfect to sop up all the sauce from our grilled spanish octopus appetizer, which is by far, THE best grilled octopus I've had thus far. For entrees, I ordered the divers scallops gfo. It was so good and cooked perfectly, I ate everything! My husband got the fresh fish dore and he said it was good and ate it all too. For dessert, we ordered the butter scotch de cream in addition to getting a complimentary chocolate mousse cake. Both were garnished with a chocolate honu (turtle). Perfect size and both were delectable, we finished both of them. Our waters were always filled up and service was on point, i.se. clearing and cleaning the table to prepare for next dishes with new utensils). They offer complimentary sparkling water, served in a wine glass (to distinguish the difference). I thought that was a nice touch since I wasn't drinking but looked like I was lol. Overall, we will definitely return on our next visit and hope for the same quality of food and service because it was that memorable.

So nice we ate here twice. This was the best dinner meal we had on Maui for the food alone but also the staff and proximity to the ocean. You're practically one foot away from crashing wavea. And itals locally owned and located in downtown Lahaina. Support local!

Easily one of our favorite meals during our stay in West Maui. The ambiance is clean and inviting. We made a last-minute reservation for dinner and the only thing we could get was a spot at the bar. Ge was the main bartender helping us that evening and she was very friendly and welcoming. Although we were seated at the bar, we really came to eat. We ordered the "ahi bruschetta" (2 pieces), chopped caesar, and truffle fries to share. My husband order the cioppino and I order the fish special -grilled monchong, corn risotto, and shrimp. All the food tasted fresh, clean, and flavorful. I would recommend making a reservation ahead (unlike us) and try to get a nice waterfront window view around sunset. We left stuffed and enjoyed this restaurant very much!

Location is stunning and all of the staff here is so kind and accommodating. We celebrated our anniversary here and they were able to get us a table on the patio with a direct view of the ocean. We got the Sausage and pepperoni pizza, crab Mac and cheese, and beef tallow fries, and everything was outstanding. One of the best pizzas I've ever had.

This place is amazing, it has a beautiful location and really kind staff. The food was also super high quality. Starting from the water, complimentary sparkling! The ahi bruschetta was so good including the amazing 20 year balsamic. It would not be classy to lick the plate but that balsamic was tempting. The pizza was cooked to perfection. Monchong wasn't as moist as hoped for but the extra sauce made it better. We missed the sunset but it would have been beautiful! The staff are really great. You never have to ask for a water refill. They were so on top of everything they actually cleared all the plates while I was still chewing the last bite. Highly and completely recommend this location. It is filled with both locals and tourists alike showing how great it is!

My partner and I were seated at a table on the periphery of the restaurant adjacent to the beach with a stunning view of the achingly beautiful ocean and the lulling sound of the ebb and flow of the waves. The restaurant is modern and elegant and the waitstaff are friendly and very helpful. We ordered a crisp de Blanc champagne to start our evening, which was bright and lovely. Our appetizer selection was the Ahi tuna bruschetta on a delightful flaxseed, toast with amazingly red and delicious heirloom tomatoes, and a wonderful aged balsamic... so delicious! Next we ordered the lobster salad with cucumbers, hearts of palm, tomatoes, avocado, and drizzled with the most delicious vanilla bean vinaigrette. Our main course was the Hawaiian MonChong served on risotto. Probably the best fish dish I have ever had so tender and buttery. We ended our dinner with a butterscotch pot crumb and a banana cream pie with a macadamia nut crust. Amazing! Wonderful restaurant, our favorite restaurant in Maui!

One of the best meals we have ever experienced. We ordered the Ahi Bruschetta, which was melt in your mouth, the soft shell crab, that had the best crunch with a green sauce and fresh jicama/cucumbers, the chefs special of Mahi Mahi with risotto and shrimp, and the coconut cream pie. I also ordered an oyster shooter that was very flavorful. The flavor palette of our meal was excellent. Each dish brought a different flavor mixture and its presentation was beautiful. We were sat by the water and enjoyed listening to the waves crash on the shore right next to us. Our waitress, Jordan was wonderful and very knowledgeable on the dishes. Our waters were always topped off by another gentleman who was very friendly and polite. It was a wonder experience to celebrate our engagement and we plan to comeback with our families the next time we are in Maui.

One of the best meals we had while in Maui. Yelp reviewers lead us to another phenomenal meal . We were able to make our reservations online for the same day and were seat ocean front, a true gift in July! There nothing more magical than watching the sunset over the beach and enjoying cocktails and dinner with friends. We had an amazing 3 courses with exceptional table service and wait staff that was truly phenomenal. Every course was so tasty. We had scallops for the starter, the. I had the fish special which was melt in your mouth and the sauce and risotto were on point! Then we shred a couple of desserts. My favorite was the passion fruit creme brûlée. All in all one of our best memories of the trip!

Since losing our all time favorite Lahaina Grill before our last visit in '23 we heard the chef moved to Honu, so we booked a reservation. First of all the service was top notch and the setting was amazing for our sunset time slot. Picture doesn't really do it service. We ordered cocktails along with a Caesar Salad and Ahi Bruschetta. Both were great. Main courses were the Filet and fresh caught Mahi and Shrimp special. Again, both were great. Dessert was the Butterscotch Pot and Chocolate Mouse cake. While everything was great, for me the Caramel Pot was the top dish of the night. Overall I would say the food was notably fresh, cooked perfectly, and nicely plated. Wish I could remember the name of our server, as she deserved a callout for being both helpful and on top of everything. We did notice one of the owners chatting tables up. Overall, while we will forever miss Lahaina Grill we were very happy at Honu Oceanside.

Honu is our new favorite restaurant on Maui! We had the chef's special Mahi Mahi. It was so delicious. I rarely order fish but being next to the ocean I had to try it. It was so good!

Vacationing in Maui for the week and 1st dinner of the trip and walked into this Gem. Didn't have reservations but was able to be seated with a party of 6 right away towards 7ish. Restaurant sits on the beach so you can hear the waves crashing. Server was very knowledgeable of the menu and directed us to some must tries! Food was on point! Chefs Kiss! The Scallops were phenomenal! And the Desserts....... yes we ordered 3 will try and come back for the apple pie before we leave back home!

This is an incredible restaurant that consistently delivers on every level. The food is outstanding, and the staff is always attentive, friendly, and impressively organized. We usually order the Ahi Bruschetta, a pizza, and the kale salad -- all of which are excellent. This time, we added the filet and the soft shell, and both were absolute hits. A special thanks to Rich for extra special service on my daughter's 28th birthday celebration.

Came here to celebrate a birthday with family. Awesome dinner. All their seafood dishes were delicious. The service was great. The ocean view was spectacular. It's nice that they pull down the shades to sheild the sun, but not the views. The servers were so efficient but not overbearing. Perfect. Recommend

OK, we wanted a special dinner for our last night in Maui and we found it! I think the pictures of the view from our table and our drinks, which were the best we've had in Maui on this trip, speak for themselves. Beginning with the hostess, the girl who kept our water glasses full and our server, the service was spot on, nothing left to be desired. We got the Burrata Mozzerella for an appetizer and what a great start! The whole thing was memorable, from the bread, to the fresh mozzarella to the dressing, it was a perfect start. She got the fresh fish special on risotto, which was amazing in taste and preparation and I got the Diver Scallop dish which was outstanding! Fresh scallops on mashed potatoes with Shiitake mushrooms and a delicious sauce, I may have to get this next time. All in all, this was a memorable and very pleasant experience and we will be back on our next trip.

Gerry is so professional and so nice - it was a pleasurable dining experience. Food was good and views from a lot of the tables were great too. Pricey, but worth it.

Worth the splurge for a special occasion. Ambiance was perfect, you can't get a better view ( that's what you're paying for)! Service was outstanding! Everyone is so friendly. Highly recommend the ahi bruschetta & the Spanish octopus that was cooked perfectly. It was so tender. My favorite dish though had to be the lobster salad. So light and refreshing. Deserts? Of course! Yummy caramel pot de crème. If you're a sucker for crème brûlée like me you'll love this and can't forget about the coconut banana cream pie.

Beautiful views from the table, especially after the sun goes down and they pull on the privacy screens. Food was excellent. My filet has a great crust and yet was very tender. The sauce tasted amazing. And they give you a lot of it. Usually I leave wanting more sauce, this time was not an issue. Green beans, carrots and potato were perfect sides. My wife loved her scallops. 3 large scallops. Mushrooms were great. My son had a large plate of French fries, lol. They were also very tasty. The butterscotch pudding dessert thing was excellent. Our server Astrid was new. She is going to do very well there. The is soft, very kind. Took a little time to talk to every table. Gave us some information about different beaches. Highly recommend her. We usually tip 20% for good service. We gave her 25%. Chit chatted with the owner for a few minutes after we were done. Very nice guy. This place will now be on our permanent list when we visit the island. (We are "foodies" from Vegas, and this meal matched some of the best places on Vegas).

Awesome evening! We had the best table near the water for our table of 4. Jerry was our server who was great! Enjoyed the carpaccio and seared tuna bruschetta for our appetizers. The margarita was off the charts! The fish special was incredible! Everyone loved their entrees! The dessert was enjoyed with the Banana coconut cream pie and the macaroons ( special). The pineapple macaron was so darn tasty and unique. The owner, Justin was super attentive which made us appreciate his focus on the details and execution of his establishment! Impressed with this place! Definitely a " must" to do when you are in town!

Came to celebrate my birthday and couldn't have been more pleased with our experience. Made a reservation well in advance but was able to change the time a couple days ahead of time with no issues. The restaurant looks great and is clean and modern with incredible ocean views. We were seated promptly in their covered patio section that is right up against the water. It was a bit sunny so I would recommend sunglasses if you come before the sun sets. I don't recall our server's name but she was excellent. Checked in regularly and was happy to provide recommendations. We started with the truffle fries which were excellent and a good portion. We also had a Caesar salad which was fine. For entrees, I had the filet while my wife went with the scallops on our waitress's recommendation. Both were fantastic and perfectly prepared. For dessert, both the pot de crème and chocolate mousse cake sounded great so we opted for both. I loved them both but would give a slight nod to the pot de crème. Overall, a really great experience and happy to be able to support a local business.

We had a nice dinner here. I appreciated that they gave us complimentary glasses of champagne for our anniversary. The food was yummy and quick. I had the chef special over risotto and we got the ahi bruschetta which was delicious. We ate on the patio and it was nice. They open the sun shades before sunset so best to get a table around sunset to be able to see the water better.

Spectacular seafood restaurant with an upscale casual vibe. It's pricey but worth it. Reservations are probably a good idea, but we got in on a Monday night with a little over a half hour wait. Service was impeccable, making great suggestions and guiding us to the best items on the menu. Be sure to listen up for the specials, of which there were many! Highlights of the meal: Grilled Spanish octopus. Tender and unctuous. Dore style fish. Classic preparation done absolutely perfectly. I don't remember the fish but this was a real favorite. Diver Scallops: dude. I could have eaten three plates of this. Lastly, we treated ourselves to the Banana Cream Coconut pie. Whoa! Why hasn't someone thought of this before now? Gadzooks!! I will definitely be back.

We had a very disappointing experience here. When we entered the restaurant, we were told we couldn't bring in our sparkling water, so we respectfully left it at the front desk as instructed. However, after we finished our meal and paid, we were shocked to be told that our drink had been thrown away. No one had informed us beforehand that it would be discarded. Who gave them the right to dispose of someone else's property without permission? When we asked the front desk, the staff girl gave a very half-hearted apology -- it felt completely insincere. She ruined my mood and dinner. We followed the restaurant's rules, but was there any respect shown in return? Absolutely not. It's extremely upsetting to have something you enjoy, and paid for, simply thrown away without any warning. Maybe it's a small thing for the restaurant but it showed the detail of services!

Our entire experience was very satisfying. And we're definitely coming back again. The only advise is definitely make reservations.

Came here for my birthday dinner while visiting Maui. Started with a cocktail (Bees Knees) and a dozen oysters. Then I had the diver scallops and my husband ordered the fish special, which was a snapper dish, and everything was delicious. We were pretty stuffed by the time dessert rolled around, so we got the macarons which were the right amount of sweet but light. They come with one each of pineapple, salted caramel, and strawberry. All of the things that we tasted were so delicious and balanced. It really feels like a lot of thought and effort goes into each dish. We brought our own wine for this dinner, and they were very accommodating about it, but we probably didn't need to as their wine list is great. When I say that our table was right next to the ocean, I mean RIGHT next to the ocean. The water was about 2 feet away from us! We even watched a couple guys hop onto their water taxi to get back to their boat. Overall, it was an amazingly wonderful experience and we will definitely be back.

What a truly beautiful experience. Dinner during sunset was absolutely magical. My husband and I visited the island to celebrate our marriage, and we were hoping for something unique--something that still offered the charm of the island while feeling special and elevated. Honu delivered in every way. From the moment we sat down, the service was impeccable. Our server was attentive without being overbearing--our water glasses never dipped below half before being refilled, and the cocktails kept coming. The White Lotus was my personal favorite, followed closely by the Kula Colada--both were tropical perfection. For appetizers, we indulged in a half dozen oysters, shrimp cocktail, Ahi Bruschetta (to die for!), grilled Spanish octopus, and the Filet Mignon Carpaccio. Each dish was beautifully presented and even better tasting. For our main, we shared the Diver Scallops--so buttery and tender, we were literally fighting over the last bite. To close out the night, we split two espresso martinis, soaking in the final rays of sunset with full hearts and even fuller stomachs. Honu isn't just a dinner spot--it's a full experience. We'll be recommending it to friends and family, and every anniversary trip we take to the island will begin with a reservation here. A perfect memory we'll cherish forever.

This restaurant has a stunning ocean view, and we started off really enjoying ourselves. We sat at the bar and ordered a grapefruit martini and an old fashioned, both made by Annabel. She was fantastic--skilled, welcoming, and genuinely great to talk to. Her service set the bar high. We had the octopus appetizer--wasn't our thing. Texture was off, kind of boiled and mushy, so we didn't finish it. The Ono fish and chips, though, were excellent. Fresh, crispy, flavorful. We were already planning to come back the next night to try more. Then came the issue: another bartender named Gee, whose attitude ruined the entire experience. A nearby guest asked her a simple, respectful question about how the Lahaina wildfire affected the restaurant. Gee responded with sarcasm, attitude, and zero professionalism--then just walked off mid-conversation. She came across as bitter and completely disinterested in serving customers. Here's why that hit hard: Our original trip to Maui had been postponed because of the fires. We wanted to be respectful and give the island time to recover. Even from afar, we donated to local families and animal shelters, hoping to help in any way we could. And for us, this is personal--we've been directly impacted by California wildfires. We've been evacuated. We know the stress, the loss, and the emotional toll. So when I tried to relate and show empathy, Gee couldn't have cared less. No acknowledgment, no human decency--just cold, checked-out attitude. It honestly felt like she resented having to deal with tourists at all. Which is ironic, considering tourism keeps places like this alive. If you work in hospitality, you should at least act like you want to be there. Because of her, we canceled our plans to return and went to Mama's Fish House instead--where the staff were welcoming, respectful, and clearly proud of what they do. This restaurant has so much potential--great food, great drinks, and people like Annabel who truly understand service. But all it takes is one rude, bitter employee to ruin it. We won't be coming back.

Perfection. I could probably stop there, but I can't and won't. While visiting Maui it was important to us to support Lahina resturants. While it's difficult for me to dine out due to food allergies Honu and the staff made me feel normal. With the exception of a few things most of the menu was gluten-free. I don't know where to start with the delectable menu. We had the octopus, Ahi toast, Fries. I had the momchong and my husband had the mahi mahi. we also had the kale salad, also amazing. Everything was cooked to Perfection and the flavors were balanced. Having a table right on the water was icing on the cake. The resturant reminded me of dining in Greece. Just when we thought we were going to burst we ordered the butterscotch pudding. mond blown. I wish we could take them back to San Diego. I left with happy tears, because I may not have such a beautiful meal like this for a long time.

Wow this was one fancy and elegant restaurant! We came on a hot July early evening and it was still a little uncomfortable inside. Nonetheless the staff and especially our server Jerry were very welcoming and made the atmosphere more pleasant. The hostess said the restaurant weathered the Lahaina fire with minimal damage. The ahi bruschetta appetizer was next level and worth the price. Everyone loved their entree dishes - Mahi Mahi, monchong fish, crab Mac and cheese, and lobster salad. The star of the evening was the Ciopinno with very generous portions of lobster, muscles, shrimp and fish in a wonderful savory broth. Definitely all had a wonderful experience.

Wow! What a view!!! Parking can be challenging. Small lot. Limited street. Just need to walk a bit. Had reservations and seated immediately. Got a seat right on the water!!! So grateful to score epic seating! The service was amazing. Owner came by to ask how things were. The food was great. Started with the shrimp cocktail with large pieces. The clam chowder was delicious. Amazing flavors and the perfect creaminess for my taste. The mahi mahi had a great sauce and cooked well. The banana coconut crème pie was a great way to finish the amazing dinner. The view. Front seat to the sunset on the ocean!

Food was great! Service was adequate. Lights were a little bright but we asked the server to turn them down and the manager accommodated. We will go back next time we're in town.

Best Oysters I've ever had! So fresh and smooth. The drinks were pretty great too. We had never tried fried oysters so that was cool to try, pretty good! Overall a great place for some good fresh seafood. We only had apps here but after looking around the entrees looked amazing. Service was great and ambiance was a nice sunset ocean view.

Best meal we have had on our trip. Great service and the view was so beautiful. Sea turtles were going by as we enjoyed our meal. We are excited to go back and try the other dishes. Highly recommended the octopus appetizer was so tender and the lilikoi raspberry tart for dessert.

The food was absolutely delicious. I am still thinking about my dish 2 days later. Our server Brianna (?) was very sweet, tentative, and helpful. The Monchong fish special was absolutely to die for. We find ourselves comparing every other meal we eat in Maui to our Honu dinner, and nothing has compared yet. The view was absolutely breathtaking, and the sea turtles popping their heads up to say hello was definitely an added bonus

Still amazing,we were so glad. Reservation essential, you can't go wrong here. Bring an appetite. Portions on mains are extremely large but so it the price. Don't miss the Ahi Bruchetta, and might be a long way from San Francisco but the ciopino is fire!

I went for dinner for my birthday. I had fish and my daughter had ciopino who had a lobster tail in it. Food was very good Service was perfect. Our table was next to the ocean and we even saw the waves with bioluminescence. So beautiful

We had a very well prepared three course dinner this evening. Two well done cocktails, one was the special at the time. Seemed like the bartender personally brought us the cocktails. Started with a shrimp cocktail for each of us, we then had the ciopino and the grilled octopus. Dessert was creamy butterscotch (it was delicious), topped off with cappuccino and a glass of port. For this delicious dinner pricing was very reasonable, I didn't mention that you practically sit at the Pacific waterside. Service, setting and food all get five *....!

If I had to describe this place in one word... it would be WOW. I visited Monkeypod the other evening, and I spoke to someone who mentioned the Chef from Lahaina Grill works here, so of course, I had to check it out. A bit of background - I've been coming to Maui for 15+ years, visiting once a year, and always watching my parents enjoy Lahaina Grill without me or my siblings. It was their special place. I only went three times myself, and now, with my father passing three years ago and Lahaina Grill burning down, finding out this Chef is still around truly made my heart smile. Now, onto the food! We ordered the Ahi Bruschetta, which melted in your mouth. The clam chowder was perfect - just the right consistency and plenty of clams and potatoes (I can't stand it when there's not enough potatoes!). I had the fresh fish Dore-style (I forgot which fish, but it was hands down the most delicious thing I've eaten on Maui). We also tried the peppercorn-crusted filet mignon, which was fantastic. For dessert, we had the coconut banana crème pie, which was good, but I prefer pie from elsewhere. There were other desserts on the menu that I'd love to try in the future. My only tip? Skip the cocktails and bring your own wine. The corkage fee is worth it - the drinks are a bit on the pricier side for me. ;) Overall, I don't think you can go wrong with anything you order here. Highly recommend!

A must for anyone that likes amazing ambience, delicious food and tentative service. I celebrated my anniversary and was well taken care of by the staff with recommendations, a seat by the ocean (amazing sunset view) and a complimentary glass of rosé!! Thoroughly enjoy the experience!! Thank you Justin and staff!!

Beautiful restaurant with a great view and great food and quality service. The tuna bruschetta and the octopus were good. I loved my entree which was some local white fish encrusted in nuts with a risotto. The chocolate dessert was good as well.

This place was more than I could've imagined. We went for my partner's bday and have had trouble finding good food on any of the days we've spent on any island so this was such a win. The ambiance was perfect with sitting right on the rocks to the ocean and the sound of crashing waves to through dinner. Our server was exceptional and so friendly and timely . Now for the food We started with half order of oysters and they are hands down THE BEST oysters I've ever had and i loveee oysters . Almost went back the next day just for an order but was too late . We then shared chopping along with Spanish octopus and a random side of mashed potatoes that I needed. Everything was just absolutely amazing! The Spanish octopus was flavored so well and the Cioppino fully delivered. We were hoping to get some good seafood so if that's you searching you 100% won't be let down if you dine here. The cocktails were also top tier while I don't drink my partner got their signature old fashioned and he said it was one of the best he'd ever had. We will absolutely be back and happy we got away with such a good dinner Oh and dessert we got the butterscotch and took it to go and was soooo yummy.

What an amazing dinner everything was so delicious. It was done so well. The service was absolutely amazing. We had a beautiful view next to the water and got to watch the sunset. I'm so happy to see them thriving

A friend recommended this to us and we are so glad we went. It was a full house and it's great to see so many out enjoying life. This restaurant has you returning for another fun night out. The food and service is fantastic so make reservations in advance so you can get in on your schedule. I ordered the Roasted Short Ribs that came with creamy mash potatoes and garlic mash, pieces of roasted garlic aside the potatoes to blend as you please. Fresh long green beans and a carrot wedge on top. I ate it all and was completely satisfied. The Feta Salad was great filled with many goods I felt it would have been more to my liking if it contained more leafy greens. I ordered a Manhattan and that too was made perfectly.

My family of 9 people ate here the day after Thanksgiving. The service was superb! From the hostesses, bartenders, to our actual server, Justin. It truly made us blown away how amazing our dining experience was. On top of all that the drinks and food were perfection and worth every penny. Honu will become a staple for us every year to visit going forward and I'm so excited to go back! On top of that the restaurant is STUNNING and listening to the ocean waves while dining is unmatched to our other yearly staples.

We had a party of 8, with two kids, everyone loved their food! Our waiter Mikey did awesome, and bonus he did amazing with the kids. We've been in Maui for the past week and this was our favorite meal so far. I'd definitely recommend trying to friends!

My fave restaurant. Love the relaxing ambiance. Bar seating is casual & relaxed. Love talking to the people who sit next to us. Selection of libations is everything. Service is superb! Quality and freshness of the food is like farm to table!

We were in Maui for 7 days and ate at many different restaurants and this was, by far, the best food, service and ambiance we had! The scallops were like butter! Everything was a delicious bite from beginning to end. Yes it's expensive but so so worth it !!
