Google
Nice spot to have fresh seafood in Montauk! We are local in Montauk (for summer) and it was our first time trying food at “Hooked”. Service was friendly and food was fresh. Fried whole belly clam was juicy and French fries were tasty. Price is reasonable for Montauk. They have outdoor seating. Will definitely come back to try other items on the menu soon.

it's-me!

Google
Tuna bites are a must! The lobster roll was really good & worth the price. Clam strips were ok - a little on the chewy side. Fries were very good. Nothing was overly-salted. Service was friendly & welcoming.

Google
Came here for a quick bite to eat and this place is great. The food was amazing honestly the best lobster roll I have ever had. The service was awesome. The atmosphere was also amazing definitely recommend if you’re in the area.

Google
Enjoyed Mother’s Day lunch at Hooked with my family and enjoyed our entire experience. A clean, friendly appealing atmosphere to start and the food is so fresh and delicious. We had the Mac & cheese, fried shrimp, lobster roll, cheese burger and grilled chicken sandwich. All a solid 10/10! Tasty, fresh, crispy and well worth the price. The outdoor seating is perfect on a beautiful sunny day like today. Highly recommend!

Google
Good seafood menu- the clams and chowder are excellent, and I had a good Mahi sandwich with coleslaw. Could have done with some extra sauce, but I enjoyed the meal! Table space is limited, and it is outside or grab and go only, so be ready for that.

Google
Perfect spot for a grab and go lobster roll. Staff is super nice, accommodating, and quick. We got the oysters too which were small, but high quality. You can tell everything on the menu is prepared for with care and love. Great spot on the east end!

Google
What a great perfect quick meal joint. Great selection of local seafood dishes. Very quick. Pretty tables outside. We had the perfect meal. Great value for money too.

Google
Absolutely amazing! The food is always super fresh and full of flavor — exactly the kind of food I love as someone from East Asia. Every time I place an order, I get a prompt email letting me know when it’s ready for pickup. By the time I arrive, everything is prepared and waiting. The staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming, which makes the whole experience even better. I’ll definitely be coming back often. Hands down, the best spot in Montauk!

Yelp
Got us hooked If I had to choose 1 place to eat in Montauk, Hooked would be that place. That lobster was impeccable. The poke was ok The kale was insane ! Order it w the fruit etc and add some shrimp. The service is simple but effective. The prices are I guess Montauk prices. The ambience is summery classic American vibe. Not bad. For the success of that place it would help to expand the seating a little in the future. Conveniently located close to the main beach.

Yelp
And the winner for best Hamptons lobster roll goes to... this place! Would head straight here for their perfect balance of mayo and fresh lobster and buttered bun. The tuna bites are okay but that lobster roll is nuts. 5 stars!!!

Yelp
A local recommended coming to Hooked for a casual lunch of lobster rolls outside at their picnic tables and that's what we did after visiting the Montauk Lighthouse. The menu was way more extensive than I was expecting. You order inside and they'll bring your food out to you at a picnic table. We got fried clam strips which were incredible, a soft shell crab sandwich and two lobster rolls. The sandwich and fried clam strips came with French fries but the lobster rolls don't so we ordered another side of fries. They also have sweet potato fries. The lobster roll was huge and definitely a fair value for the price. They only have lobster rolls with cold lobster salad, not warm with butter. The fries were nice and fluffy! We were so happy we stopped at such a quaint place for a very filling and delicious lunch.

Yelp
I really don't get why I keep shooting myself in the foot with lobster rolls in the Hamptons. They are very small, pricy, and kind of mediocre flavor wise. I would recommend trying the other things on the menu.

Yelp
First visit. Think it has only been open a month plus (they just got their full liquor license but don't have a cocktail list yet). Another Vieste effort. And free parking in their lot (well I do expect it may get full at times). We had cocktails and then split a dozen MA oysters ($3.50 each) with 4 sauces. Entrees were grilled scallops with asparagus - outstanding - and chicken piccata - large portion but Pomodoro's does it better. Damages for 2 with tip was $175. Give them a try...

Yelp
A small casual diner serving classic American seafood dishes. Service was pretty quick, and it was a beautiful day to eat outside (you order at the counter and then eat outside). I tagged along with some friends, but there really aren't any worthwhile vegetarian options, so I'd do more searching if you're looking for vegetarian-friendly spots in Montauk.

Yelp
I tried the Fish 'n' Chips which come with fries. I enjoyed but for my taste it was too greasy. I know how fried foods are supposed to be oily but the order had extra oil at the bottom (some extra paper towels before serving could avoid this situation). I ate part of it and ask to take home the other half. The service was nice and average waiting time. I didn't experience the service during busy hours, which I understand orders can be delayed. The place is small and limited seating area.
google avatar

Yelp
Nice casual place. Come inside to place an order. Sit outside to wait for it to be delivered to your table. My first feeling is that it was a mini version of "The Lobster Roll" aka LUNCH. I ordered the Fish 'n' Chips. It was better than average. The fries that come with it are really good too. Seeing others at the table with the New England Clam Chowder makes me wish I did that as well. Maybe next time. Though I enjoyed having dinner here. Is it worth the five stars other people are giving it here? I really don't think so. Between the food quality and the seating availability it is a solid four-star experience.

Yelp
Something for everyone. I really.i,e this place food and service very good. Ice small side yard with Flowers. Just easy peasy. Good prices good food and good service. Very casual just like it should be near the beach. Sorry no beach view but walkable from a few hotels on the beach.

Yelp
Love this place. I think Hooked might be one of my favorite lobster roll places in the area. The chowders are solid and the fish and chips were a also a winner.

Yelp
This fall I took a day trip with my boyfriend over to Montauk and was not sure which place would be the best for lobster rolls, but safe to say I guessed right with my initial pick of Hooked! The lobster roll was to die for and the oysters were so fresh and probably the best ones I've ever had in my life! We enjoyed this on the outdoor seating in the end of summer/early fall weather on a quiet roadside and it was truly serene. The service was fast, and the cashier was extremely friendly and knowledgeable about the area and gave us great suggestions menu-wise too! I can't wait for when Montauk opens for the season again because I surely will be back :)

Yelp
Such a nice day to hangout in Montauk . The lobster rolls are good. Fresh oysters. I was here more than 10 years ago, it's good to come back again with family

Yelp
Came here recently while in Montauk. Cool little spot that fits right into the neighborhood - no shirt, no shoes, no problem! I ordered a cold lobster roll (there was no option for a hot/cold). There were massive chunks of lobster in a mayo based salad - it was fresh and delicious! I opted for a side of sweet potato fries which were a nice compliment to the main event lol Overall, I loved the vibe and the food and will definitely be back to explore more of the menu!

Yelp
Good clean friendly restaurant Everything looked good but I made the mistake of getting the fish n chips meal 70% batter 30% fish They should call it batter n chips
google avatar

Yara F.

Yelp
Extremely Fresh Seafood with lots of outdoor seating options. Everything we had was really delicious and you could tell that it was super fresh. Prices are definitely reasonable for what you're getting and considering how expensive some of the fancy restaurants in Montauk are this is a great option. Just keep in mind that a lot of the food is fried so there will be relatively limited choices for someone who is gluten free or has a sensitive stomach to fried food.

Hannah H.

Yelp
Great food! Must eat while in MTK, our favorite meal so far of our trip, very fresh tasting food and great service! Friendly staff helped us pick out the best options for us! Ambiance was great, outdoor dining (shaded and not shaded) Our order: lobster salad roll (10/10), peel and eat shrimp, steamed mussels, clam chowder, Manhattan clam chowder, and fish and chips... all great options

Yelp
I truly wanted to love this place, but was so disappointed. We order a mahi mahi sandwich, lobster macaroni and cheese and drinks. The sandwich was good, the fish was cooked really well and had great flavor to it! I was a little surprised that the sandwich didn't come with some type of sauce and that was it was quite literally fish, lettuce, tomato and bun. Onto the macaroni and cheese...I'm half convinced this was microwaved from a Banquet frozen meal. The breadcrumbs on top didn't do anything for the flavor but give it a burned taste. There was lots of lobster in it, but it was soupy and artificial tasting. We ended up using it to dip our fries in rather than eat. Last part, to no fault of the restaurant but it was SO windy outside. Knowing there is no indoor seating, this was definitely not helping the dining experience as we tried to hold down everything as we ate. Likely would not return.

Yelp
This place is great! Quietly tucked off the main strip in Montauk you'll find a bunch of cute blue picnic benches to sit and eat. Ordered inside and they brought everything out super quick. The lobster roll was a generous serving of lobster (no shells anywhere to be found!). The rolls were tasty fresh and roasted. The coleslaw was delicious too. We tried all the desserts- tiramisu, key lime pie and salted caramel cheesecake. All were delicious and the salted caramel cheesecake was the star knockout. It was the perfect balance of salty and sweet and way too easy to eat the whole thing! Definitely a five star lobster roll.

Kristen N.

Yelp
Came for lunch - service was super fast, food quality and portion was great, staff was friendly. Very casual environment. Lobster roll was generously filled, the crab and corn chowder was very tasty - not too spicy, and the tuna poke was fresh but we've had better.

Yelp
Excellent seafood, we picked up a big takeout order and everyone loved their food. Good portions and fresh!

Yelp
When in Montauk, ya gotta go for the seafood. It just feels like the right thing to do. Yeah I'm sure there are plenty of great burgers, pizza, and other foody fare, but I'm always jonesing for some fishy food when I find myself at THE END. That's just what my fiancée and I went for when we trekked out to Montauk in August to have a splendid meal at Hooked. Well, it should be noted that Hooked (or hooked with a lowercase "h" as it likes to be known) is a relatively no frills kind of place. With Montauk having a lot of that suave-surfer high-end feel going for it these days (if you get what I'm saying), hooked kind of beats to it's own drum. There's really no where to eat inside of hooked. It's more of an order and take to-go or outside to one of their few sidewalk tables. Though if you like a little more secludedness, they've transformed the adjacent alleyway into a little table alcove which is where we sat after we ordered up our grub. Speaking of grub, you'll find plenty of that aforementioned seafood that I was looking for along with some land lover options. Leading the charge was plenty of lobster as I went with the lobster salad roll (coleslaw on the side) and a lobster bisque that I shared with the lady. A side of sweet potato fries were also purchased while the female ordered up a boat of crab cakes served with regular fries. Starting with the bisque, it definitely was creamy and had that lobster flavor, though I think there's a few other bisques I still put above it (Jordan Lobster Farms forever and always). Moving on to the lobster salad roll, that had plenty of chunky tender lobster meat and the toasted roll brought each bite together so nicely. The sweet potato fries were, well, a sweet accompaniment and a great alternative flavor to everything (the slaw was fresh and crisp too). I also took a nab of my fiancée's crab cakes which were actually quite tasty (I say "actually" because I'm not big on crab cakes in general). It was a fine meal that really didn't break the bank, which you may often find in Montauk with seafood. Overall, hooked has everything you're looking for when it comes to some great seafood to chow down on. It might be a little too casual for some and it may not be the greatest seafood you'll ever eat, but it's a solid spot with respectable prices which is enough to warrant a formidable four star review. I'm sure hooked will, um, hook me in again sometime soon.

Yelp
Fresh, wonderful oysters and clams. They seemed to have just been plucked from the ocean. Which is unlike many other places that have their shellfish sitting on ice, nearly frozen and ruining the delicate texture. New England clam chowder is delicious, highly recommended. Only annoyance you might experience is trying to order large containers (e.g. clam chowder) for dine-in as they will not let you.

Yelp
I did my research prior to our trip to Montauk. Due to many rave reviews, I chose Hooked for lunch. The sign states their hours are Saturday 12pm to 8pm. However, we went there at 11:45 am and it was opened. We ordered their two popular dishes, lobster roll and fish and chips. The price came out to $53. I loved the lobster roll. It was fresh and they loaded a lot of meat. Moreover, the fish was very hot when I bit into it. Hence, I knew they just made it. I highly recommend this place. The service was fast and the dishes were delicious.

Yelp
A nice casual spot off the beaten path in Montauk. We probably ordered the wrong things. Lobster roll would be the thing to order, but we got chicken sandwiches, arugula salad with chicken, Manhattan Clam Chowder, Steamed Mussels, House Salad, and Fish & Chips. The salads were good and quite large. The chicken sandwiches were very basic. Clam Chowder and Fish and Chips were well-liked. Recommend skipping the steamed mussels. They were kind of dry in that there was barely any broth. The mussels themselves were fresh but had very little meat.

Yelp
My bf and I came here for lunch over the weekend and had a great meal, so we came again later for some oysters, which was not the best experience. They had a beach vibe indoors and outdoor seating with picnic benches and umbrellas. For lunch, we ordered: - Hooked House Salad ($15+) - Fish 'n' Chips ($17+) The Hooked House Salad was exactly what I needed to fulfill my need for some greens. It had kale, quinoa, cotija cheese, cranberries, oranges and cranberry citrus vinaigrette. Great combination of ingredients, very tasty. The Fish 'n' Chips, which came highly recommended, was fresh and a decent-sized portion, with 2 pieces of fish. Early evening, we came again and ordered: - Montauk Pearl Oysters ($14 for 6) x2 We'd ordered a half dozen at first, which was delicious. So we ordered another half dozen, which were not shucked well at all--there were a bunch of shell pieces left in and they left a poor aftertaste, which was disappointing after the nice meal we'd had earlier. Wouldn't come back for the oysters, but I would recommend trying the Hooked House Salad and Fish 'n' Chips if you're looking for a lunch spot in the area.

Yelp
Amazing lobster rolls, great staff, went almost everyday before the beach. Loved eating outside quickly as well.

Yelp
I came to Hooked in hopes of a good seafood lunch. However, all I got was an expensive disappointment. I initially ordered the Lobster Salad Roll. However, after mentioning my food allergies, potato and tomato, I was informed that the roll was potato bread. I was also informed that some other options were a no-go. At this point, I was impressed that the person manning the cash register knew the ingredients of the food they sold. This is typically a good sign and demonstrates that restaurant staff are well trained and knowledgeable! Thus, I ended up ordering the Whole Local Steamed Lobster, which came with mussels and corn. Since I also wanted coleslaw, I added that onto my order. In total, my meal, with tip, cost me $64.20. For $64, I was expecting something spectacular. However, that hope was quickly erased upon receiving my food. While the lobster tasted fresh, and the coleslaw was exceptionally good, the mussels ruined the meal for me. In particular, the mussels were clearly not fresh. With my food sitting in front of me, I could smell a very distinct fishy smell; sifting through the mussels, some of them smelled like a dumpster with rotting fish! I was so disgusted by the mussels that they went directly into the trash.

Yelp
IM NOW HOOKED!! Just went today for a lobster roll. It was even better than Gosman's - One of the most delicious Ive ever had. Coleslaw was delish-I love how it has the real broccoli slaw in it, It's so refreshing. Wonderful service as well. 2 very big thumbs up!

Yelp
Truly went here everyday during my trip to montauk! Such a good selection, got something different everyday and enjoyed each one.

Yelp
Definitely a great lobster roll and great menu variety. Order and wait (patiently as everything is made fresh to order). Opened until Oct 11 so enjoy the off-season vibe Note, closed Tuesdays. Super polite. Regular fries were great, grilled fish was delicious, Ipswich clams were delicious (small portion but priced about right). Sweet potato fries tasted nice but weren't hot. And the lobster bisque was so-so. No hunks of lobster and the sherry was overpowering.

Yelp
This place definitely saved the day more than once or twice when we were in Montauk, which I'm now convinced is my least favorite place in the world. I was there in hell on the Fourth of July weekend learning that I am not a montauk person and never want to return. Among my many frustrations that weekend was the fact that restaurants were overbooked, mediocre, and incredibly expensive. Don't even get me started on the two hours I waited for the world's worst bagel and smoothie from Joni's after a friend recommended it for some reason that's unbeknownst to me. Anyway, the best of the worst is Hooked for sure, which is to say that it's affordable and decent food that you can get in Montauk in under 20 minutes or so. Maybe my bar is on the floor, but I was unable to find any other edible $20 food in Montauk. It's basically either Hooked or 7/11 if you need something fast and reasonably cheap. The food was totally decent, don't get me wrong - the crab cakes I had, despite being maybe 10% crab, were fine, the fries were good, and the burgers were above average. The soups were unusually good - probably the best thing I tried on the menu. Especially the lobster bisque. The girls working were kind despite being completely unhelpful when we asked even the simplest questions about the menu. They take card with a small surcharge and serve beer and wine I believe. No seating inside. I believe there is typically some outside but the weekend we were there was 60 degrees and raining (of course) so we didn't partake in it, and just took our food back to our $800/night hotel to enjoy. Anyway, should you ever find yourself in hell- er, Montauk - I recommend Hooked.

Isabel C.

Yelp
Love this option for dining in Montauk. You order, pay and they bring it to you. Food was good. Calamari was crispy, fish and chips was delicious. I ordered the fish tacos and was disappointed because they lacked flavor. The salsa should have cumin, cayenne pepper and lots of cilantro to give it the taco taste.

Rebecca T.

Yelp
Got there right away and the food was ready great swordfish and tacos. Right next to 27 easy to get to not very fancy

Yelp
What a fun discovery! Located 2 blocks off the main drag Hooked is doing great cooked to order fresh seafood. The grilled Mahi sandwich I had was (pardon the pun) "off the hook". Truly delicious!
google avatar

Yelp
One of our favorite casual lunch spots in Montauk. The lobster roll is huge and so is the grilled Tuna sandwich and the French fries are cooked to perfection. Outdoor seating only. Quick and friendly service

Yelp
Lobster sauce was not great People are nice. Food not that great. Mac & cheese was good. Shrimps were good.
google avatar

Yelp
Delicious. Lobster roll was fresh and stuffed with lobster meat, and the tuna bites were hefty and crispy, served with a tasty horseradish sauce. This is a great casual spot to grab some tasty seafood after a day at the beach

Yelp
2.5 stars My friends and I were so excited to try this place but were all extremely disappointed. The lobster roll was good and tasted fresh. The coleslaw was horrible though, I have no idea why they would put that out. It was really, really bad. The fish tacos were dry. I would've preferred fried fish, maybe that would've been more forgiving. The mangoes were interesting, I like mango so I didn't mind it and it did help with the dry fish. Overall, totally not worth it for about $50 after tip.
google avatar

Ant R.

Yelp
Look, this place has some of the best lobster rolls and lobster bisque in Montauk.. so if that's what you're craving, you're in luck. Pretty relaxed ambiance, and convenient location, but damn this place is expensive. 2 lobster rolls and 2 bowls of lobster bisque was $94.00. I know that everywhere in Montauk is expensive, so that's why I went with 4 stars instead of 3.
google avatar

Anastasia E.

Yelp
Went to montauk for 4 days had my lunch at hooked 3 times and dinner once! It's such a great place and claim chowder is a must. If you are around you must stop by!
google avatar

Maria S.

Yelp
We visited Hooked for the weekend lunch. We ordered the Tuna bites and Fried Calamari and the staff brought our order to the table. I have to say the Tuna bites were the best-fried food I've ever had. They were absolutely delicious. I will definitely come back here for more Tuna bites. However, I was disappointed by the fried camalari. The batter tasted fine but there wasn't enough calamari. The calamari was super small and didn't have much to chew. It wasn't worth it. I will try other items when I make the next trip to Montauk!
google avatar

Sivana H.

Yelp
Really great food here! I had the lobster roll, and the chicken sandwich for lunch with my bf. Our food was delicious and very filling. The french fries were also great. I enjoyed the outdoor seating section, but the benches without shade were too hot to sit on, so make sure you get a table with shade. I would definitely return in the future!

Danielle M.

Yelp
Best place to stop for a quick lunch while spending the day on the beach. Sit at their tables or bring your food back to the beach, easily! After discovering this place my group of friends dropped our sandwich materials and came here every day. Best oysters in town for an unbeatable price. Service was quick and friendly, I loved getting new recommendations every day. Lobster roll is also exactly how you want it, with a perfectly proportioned lobster salad.

M L.

Yelp
The reviews sounded good, however crab cakes were awful. Fish and chips were ok. Would pass and not come back.

Evan S.

Yelp
Solid 4 stars. I'm a fan of the order at the counter type places, so the service was great. The food didn't take too long, but it wasn't super fast. The food was presented well, but that isn't saying much because I ordered fish n chips. The fries were mediocre at best, but in my opinion, the fries shouldn't be a big factor. The fish itself wasn't crispy despite the look, and the texture of it didn't remind me much of fish. The fish tasted well though, and I wasn't too disappointed. There were only seats outside, which isn't too much of a problem, but good weather wasn't there the day I ate there. Not the fault of the place, so it doesn't count to the rating. I really liked the songs they were playing there, which added a lot of points to the vibe. Looking forward to come back.

Tamara H.

Yelp
Awesome casual evening outside. I had mussels and the Manhattan clam chowder. Do takeout or dine on the picnic tables. Either is a great choice

Jodi F.

Yelp
Delicious fish tacos and coleslaw, the restaurant was immaculately clean, service was very friendly and knowledgeable, and prices were more than fair for Montauk. We will be back!

Joseph F.

Yelp
Great food and fun atmosphere - lobster roll was big and the lobster bisque was very good as well Update: Meant to say, the last that works here is AWESOME - she made all of the great recommendations and added to our experience

Yelp
Hard to go wrong with fresh seafood in a little corner in Montauk. I was here on a Sunday and ordered a whole bunch of deliciousness to share with friends. A lobster roll, a lobster meal, some New England Clam Chowder, crab cakes--french fries. The meal vacation and dreams are made of really. The wait for the meal was long--at least a half hour, but worth it. The lobster was delicious -- although slightly overdone (rubbery)--the lobster roll was perfect. The crab cakes were some of the best along with the clam chowder. They seemed to do the social distancing thing quite well as well, be sure to have a mask if picking up food - they will not serve you otherwise!
