Eating Hooked's French Fries dipped in their Custom Mint Mushy Pea Dip is something you need to do before you die.
Just saying.

Hooked is a hip fish and chips place with entertaining odd ideas.
They have a series of dips that you can dip anything you like in.
French fries ... Your Fish ... Your Girlfriend's Fingers ... Whatever.
We had the Mint Mushy Pea Dip ... but I looked longingly at the Black Garlic Mayo.
Their French Fries are to kill for. The Mint Mushy Pea Dip is to kill for.
Need I say more?

Neither I nor my beloved had the signature Fish and Chips.
The fish however is dipped in a batter made of yogurt ...
Which seems like a very promising concept to me.
I had the Asian Lobster Roll.
Toasted bun, spicy mayo, puffed rice noodles, snap peas and of course lobster.
I have always thought lobster rolls were a silly idea.
Why cover up the utterly fantastic taste of buttered lobster in a white bread bun?
(Hey, I come from New England and have had plenty of lobster rolls in my time.
Not everything we do in New England is perfect, you know.)
Hooked's Asian Lobster roll has all of the flaws of the basic concept
But is still a wonderful sandwich.
You have to work hard to taste the lobster.
But the bun tastes good and the side stuff tastes good
So the world is basically okay.
Love of the Life had a salmon burger.
She was a happy camper as well.
We got some fried shrimp on the side on a what-the-hell basis.
These were pretty nifty too.

One note.
Some of the stuff we got from the kitchen needed salt.
They don't have salt on the table.
They DO have "powdered vinegar."
I assume these are acetic acid crystals.
It was a weird concept, but we couldn't resist.
Yelpers,
Powdered vinegar really works.
Everything we put powdered vinegar on tasted just great afterwards.
This is a trick you may want to try at home.
