Hooked On Barrier Charters

I would highly recommend this experience when you first get to Great Barrier Island. Firstly, it is a great way to get a sense of the island and topography and you will see dolphins and gannets. Secondly, Chris is the best skipper ever and a superb baker of amazing carrot cake. He is knowlegeable about the area, really friendly and made the day fabulous. In addition, he waited for me as my flight was delayed! Do not miss this!

Our group had a fantastic trip around the Great Barrier coast with Chris. We throughly enjoyed our visit to Glenfern Sanctuary, a couple of wonderful swims and a lovely lunch and refreshments (including such a yummy carrot cake). The boat is well set up (toilet on board) and there was lots of space for our group of 11. Highly recommended - thanks Chris.

Had a whale of a time! Amazing experience cruising around the island and witnessed at least six whales. The skipper Chris provided the unique history of the area. The bbq was excellent and paddle boarding while swimming in the crystal clear bays. The skipper is a living legend in the area.

My 3 friends and I had an AMAZING day with Chris on his boat travelling through the bays of Great Barrier Island West coast. On top of having a very functional and safe boat, Chris is an amazing host who shared his knowledge and helped us catching fish all day. We highly recommend going on a fishing trip with him, you’ll have a wonderful experience.

We did a half day fishing trip with kids (11,9 & 2yrs) - it was great. Willy looked out for our toddler's safety, helped the kids catch plenty of snapper, and showed us how to fillet it afterwards. Boat was comfortable. A great way to experience boat fishing on the island. Thanks Willy - and Wolf is still bragging about catching the biggest! :)

An absolute highlight of our time on the island. Gourmet lunch after a snorkel/swim/paddle board amongst the local dolphins. Chris was incredibly knowledgeable and a great tour guide. We will definitely be back soon.

Great experience especially just for a cruise to see some of the interesting sites along the west coast. If we had time possibly would of done a fishing charter
