Hop Shop

Tucked away gem inside Bukit Timah mall. This shop is worth seeking out for anyone keen on craft beers or more interesting spirits than you can find in your usual supermarkets. The owner is always friendly, informative, and delightful to chat with about suggestions without overselling. The stock rotates regularly so be prepared to see different options every time.

I come here rly often to collect my Shopee parcels or drop off Ninjavan parcels. The guy manning the store is always so cheerful and makes the transaction fast & pleasant!

Great beer selection and friendly owner

Terrifically wide selection of craft beers, a few unusual sodas, some spirits, and probably Singapore's best array of bitters. Very knowledgeable owner. Most of their inventory is available for delivery via RedMart but it's fun to browse.

Awesome selection. Haven’t been personally but Hop Shop is near my wife’s office and she occasionally buys me a six-pack of a variety of IPAs from here. When she feels I deserve it

Small but very well stocked shop full of imported beers, ciders, spirits and wines. Friendly knowledgeable owner who is happy to make recommendations and suggestions. Good for finding beers from home (wherever you're from) or trying new ones.

There is finally some proper interest in craft beer in Singapore, thanks to the twin events of the Straits Times article on craft beer by Ms. Anjali Raguaraman to coincide with Beerfest Asia 2016, all in the month of June 2016! Don't get me wrong, this tsunami's been coming for a while, but the fact that there is enough interest in craft to devote print inches to coincide with a calendar event is for the want of a better word, big. Hop Shop opened well before all this happened, but the point I'm trying to make here, as I also alluded to in my review of Mikkeller Bar's opening in Singapore, is that that there is enough interest in craft beer now in the middle of 2016 to ensure that those of us in the nascent beer geek movement in Singapore get ever more easy access to supplies of fresh craft! While I am not in any way endorsing their entire stock (they also do a trade in aromatherapy), I can vouch for the three beers that I had from the Hop Shop, all from La Débauche, all fresh and which I have not found anywhere else in Singapore yet. These beers were fresh (I just cannot emphasize how excited I am about this simple, oft taken for granted fact), interesting and well worth all 1000 kCal or so of carbs. I'm just happy that the business savvy in Singapore are realizing that it is well worth their while and the aggravation to import fresh craft beer into Singapore because there most certainly is a growing appetite and an almost urgent need to have fresh craft beers with an interesting and sometimes even hip palette of flavors and aromas. That just means that grizzled beer geeks like myself get to ride the wave of hipster interest in craft beer all the way into the shore of the mainstream retail market, on this surge of interest in craft beers, enjoying fresh beers without having to endure stale beers served up due to indifference or ignorance. So, when you drop by, say Hi to Luc (the friendly dude behind the aromatherapy counter with the faint French-Singlish accent) and part with some of your precious wampum in exchange for what you might recall years later as your first step into the warm inviting amniotic sac of beer geekdom.

Well. Isn't this a gem of a find? Deep in the B1 level of Bukit Timah Plaza is this fantastically small but fantastically stocked craft beer shop. Don't be misled by the craft beers. They have a great selection of ciders from different parts of the world as well as some excellent whisky choices from Scotland and Japan. There's not a lot of room to maneuver in the shop but that's fine given the quality of stock. The French owner is friendly and willing to offer advice should you be stuck for a choice.
