Always an awesome dining experience at Hopcat! The Food is affordable, delicious, with many options for diverse diets! The Staff was very friendly and accommodating for our large group. I called back the following day for an itemized receipt (company dinner) and the manager was pleasant and quick to email it!

For me, the atmosphere here is very laid-back. There is a good crowd and everyone seems to be enjoying their time here, good for if you want to be left alone, but also great atmosphere if you wanna bring the kids as well. I personally just witnessed the incident where a young woman just spelt her drink, and the staff was nothing but courteous and polite about it and quick to get her a new drink. If you’re looking for a laid-back place to show newcomers to the area or just need to pick me up after a long day, I would say Hopcat in Grand Rapids is your spot!

We had never been here, but because it was listed as dog-friendly, we decided to try it. No reservation needed. With or without our pet, we would have been pleased. Our waiter was attentive, friendly and pleasant. The menu choices were plentiful and the food was delicious. I especially liked the Cosmik fries because of the black pepper coating. The beer selection was also great. The only thing less than stellar was that they didn't offer Coca Cola products to drink, but Mountain Dew is just right on occasion, so that was alright. We will definitely visit again

So we went around 1pm on a Saturday was about a 10 minute wait. There is no benches or seating when waiting but they do text you so you can go back to your car or outside. The place itself is decorated so you could spend hours in there and not see everything. The staff is friendly and if you like your food seasoned this is the place to go! Overall it's really a great place.

We ordered a beer flight, the elote cheese dip, the pickleback chicken sandwich, and the grilled cheese with tomato soup. Very tasty, especially the cheese dip. Soup was bomb too. Don’t pay extra for the cheese sauce for the fries.

They have great food and great service. They are always extremely busy, but you don’t have to wait too long for your food. I love their macaroni and cheese. Although I’m not a beer fan, they do have some with a fruity taste that are extremely good. I love the atmosphere of HopCat as well. So happy they have the Impossible burger for vegetarians!! 🌱

Their burger is one of the best. The atmosphere is rich in beer. - The Signature Double- $13.25: Simply delicious and executed well. It was a larger burger overall. The two patties were smash like, but a tad thicker. The signature kitty island sauce was similar to a thousand island, but a LOT smoother and delicious. The American cheese was spot on. The toppings were tad on the lighter side, but still great. The bun was fairly standard, but good. - Cosmik Fries (comes with the burger): HopCat is famous for their Cosmik Fries and it is not hard to see why. The seasoning on them is potent and powerfully delicious. They used to be more seasoned (more than five years ago), but they dialed it back slightly from what I remember. They are medium cut standard otherwise with a little bit of batter. I ordered it with a side of their signature cheese sauce ($1.50). The cheese sauce was a bit more on the sharper side. I did not prefer it, though it does objectively compliment the fries well. You be the judge on that one. I prefer a standard nacho-like cheese myself. - Madtown Grilled Cheese - $14.5: There are TWO halves (the picture seems to only show one). Amazingly delicious! They add apple slices which sound weird, but it totally supported the flavor well. The sourdough, cheese choices, garlic aioli, and honey all fit perfectly. I am not a grill cheese fan, but this one is over the moon good! - Tomato Basil Soup (comes with the grilled cheese): Another amazing component! Thick and full of flavor. The seasoning really compliments the flavor and dipping the grilled cheese into it was perfect. You can certainly eat it by itself and it will work well. - Service: Wonderful waiter. We didn’t wait any longer than I’d expect for a sit down restaurant. He was helpful, well informed, and even talked shop about another great restaurant without prejudice. They are wonderfully healthy with the competition. - Atmosphere: A lot of beer class here. I don’t drink beer often, but the history is thickly infused with modern themes. The atmosphere is darker, but still positive. The booths are super comfortable, fun, conducive for fun conversation, well thought out, and fun. There was music playing, but it was a notch lower than the common volume of other restaurants. There is a ton of beer themed displays. - Conclusion: I’d highly recommend the burger and fries. If you like beer, you’ll love this place. They have it together for sure. Visited Saturday at 11am.

We love HopCat! The service is always top notch and we've never tried something we didn't enjoy. My husband usually gets one of the burgers, and I've tried a variety of the items. Most recently, we shared the appetizer sampler platter and our daughter loved it all (even the items that weren't traditional "kid" items).

Tried Hopcat again after a few really average experiences a few years ago. Things have not improved. I can't tell if the staff hates their jobs or they are just understaffed/overwhelmed. We went at 3pm on a Saturday and they already were on a 30 min wait. We sat at the bar (1st mistake) and our bartender seemed really annoyed by our presence. Everybody's presence at the bar really seemed to annoy her. We got 2 draft beers that were ok...needed to be colder. We spilt their Big App Nachos (second mistake). I think if you tell yourself these are salad nachos, they might be more enjoyable. We found 3 jalepeno slices, maybe 10 pieces of tomato. No identifiable melted cheese, lots of lettuce and a spicy ranch dressing over it. Very little chicken. When the food came out it immediately looked off. ZERO quality control in the kitchen. It comes with a can of 'beer cheese.' I hope the kitchen made a mistake here and this was not beer cheese but some sort of dressing. It tasted like creamy Italian dressing with the consistency of water. This could not have been cheese. Not by the taste, texture, or consistency. It was inedible. Back to our salad on tortilla chips....Only half our chips had any toppings at all. My husband drank half his beer (also a temp issue, maybe the glasses were warm to start) and I drank one sip of mine. We left over half our app (just empty tortilla chips). Nobody asked us how things were and she just presented a bill to us at some point. Picked up the half plate of tortilla chips and a full beer without comment. I tried Hopcat. Several times. You never fail to be below average in every way.

Great Saturday brunch menu! We tried so many new things. It was a busy day in terms of service! However we sat at the bar and it moved a little quicker. Things were buzzing around us and it felt a little loud ad busy but maybe that was due to the cool bloody Mary bar. Hard to find parking at lunch time on a Saturday!

The cosmic fries are what keep us coming back... But in all seriousness, my husband and I love this place so much we had some of our engagement pictures taken here! Everything is good!

It was a lovely evening to sit outside and have a drink and dinner. Food came out fast and everything was delicious. Our waitress was quick, funny and definitely helped make our evening memorable. The flat bread was yummy and definitely share with a group of friends. The burgers were delicious and my grilled cheese and tomato soup hit the spot with the feeling of fall in the air it was perfect.

We have been wanting to try HopCat for a while and finally made it. Our waitress, Taylor, was friendly and answered our questions and added her suggestions too. We had the lobster dip and was delicious that was so filling but we still ordered a Build your own burger with American cheese and bacon with cosmic fries. She had it split for us and was so good. We'd def go back again

had dinner with my coworkers and for a Thursday at 5:15pm, Hopcat was busyyyy! this was my first time at this location and I was kinda surprised at how many people were in here which did not impact the service at all which I appreciated. One thing I noticed was the waitress brought out samples of other beers when one wasn't available which was super thoughtful! I ordered the elote queso and the creme brulee cheesecake and they were both pretty good! I was a little disappointed that the cheesecake didnt have that creme brulee crunch but it was still good. I'll have to try other items next time I come!

Busy Saturday night after a hockey game. Restaurant was packed for the Ferris Game. Got us in right away (table for 3). Cosmic fries, chicken wrap, steak and a killer Mac and Cheese. Everything was pretty solid. Cheesecake to go was good and not frozen like many places. Server was a rockstar.

Hopcat is always delicious. The cosmic fries are good but I love to upgrade to the truffle cosmic fries! They have lots of yummy food options and good drink selections. My favorite thing is that there is actually decent parking around the building. Building is clean and it's a great environment to catch up with coworkers or friends. Always enjoy my time!

Stellar? More like Cosmic! Went in today for lunch while in town and ordered the Nashville Hot Chicken sandwich grilled! It was really good and the sauce was awesome and full of flavor! Love the atmosphere! The fries were good but mine were overly salty. The two people working the bar were awesome and deserve kudos from the manager for sure! I will definitely be back! Only reason that were missing a star is because the host said we could sit anywhere around the bar and I sat a table around the bar and then he came and had me get up and follow him back to the front and then tell me he will pick the table out around the bar for me and then say me and at the table next to the one I had originally sat at lol he said the one I sat at first was dirty but it looked clean to me. Just a confusing interaction is all.

Exceptional entré offerings, superb beer list for pairings, comfortable atmosphere, exceptional service way above par with Jesse. Love everything about this place. Supper Wrap & Fish'n Chips are exemplary ! Even the music rocks! Y'all come hungry, thirsty with a sober driver for big fun!

Aside from a long wait to be seated. our group of 8 were all very satisfied with the food. Our server on 12/30/24, Table 23/1was Owen. He was excellent and made our dinner even more fun. He was kind enough to point out the already added gratuity. Give this server a shot at moving up if he wants to.

Went on a Monday night after a sporting event around 7:30 . The crowd was light and the restaurant a bit understaffed . I know that's typical but no one at front to greet or seat us for a few minutes and then quite a wait for beers ... solve that and earn a 5 as beer selection is excellent and the food very good quality . Grilled cheese , smashburgers and great Nashville hot chicken sandwich . Oh and the cosmic fries are still great though the portion was a little small . Love the food and atmosphere , hope they can hire some more kids for summer dining

Can one ever go wrong with a double smash burger and crac...I mean cosmic fries, I think not?! HopCat continues to impress, even if I get the same thing almost every time. The burgers are great, the service is always top notch, and those fries are outright delicious. Once we tried them loaded five years ago, we've never gone back. I've been out of the craft beer scene for a while but this Mayan Mocha Stout from Odd Side Ales was also fantastic, a tiny bite, bold flavor, but some how, magically, still quite smooth. Someday I'll hit all the HopCat locations, but this one is my home base, even though Ionia St is OG and so nostalgic!

Service was good but the food preparation lacks commitment and concern. I have to say the food was sadly prepared and honesty I'll never go back to that restaurant!

My visit here was shortly before COVID, for lunch with coworkers. They did a pretty good job accommodating our party of 5 and getting the food out efficiently. I ordered the salted caramel chicken and waffles: fried chicken thighs, salted caramel butter, bacon, and maple syrup. That sounded so delicious on paper. In reality, while the flavors were great, it was way too heavy with sweetness and grease. The chicken was covered in tons of greasy batter - I had many bites of pure batter (no meat). The caramel butter was good, but there was way more than necessary. I will say, the bacon provided a good salty and smoky contrast to the maple syrup. This probably would've been a great dish to share with other people (and have a couple bites of), but I would not order this again for myself. I'm glad I decided not to order a side of the cosmik fries (formerly crack fries), since the meal was so greasy and heavy as it is. I'm sure there are other good options to select at this place. I'd be open to going again to try other things.

We tried this place tonight for the first time. Pleasantly surprised! Kelsey was our waitress and she was very friendly with a great vibe(: I got a pulled pork sandwich and it was the best one I've ever had! The kids meals come with a side of fries, fruit and cookie as well! New favorite spot

Pros: friendly staff, flavorful food, and clean environment Cons: I think our waitress forgot about us a few times (it wasn't busy), the fries that came with our burger were over seasoned (lots of small debris and seasoning at the bottom of the basket) and the fries were also really small pieces (bottom of the bag?). There were not a lot of fries.

I've been trying for YEARS to get back to HopCat and finally had the opportunity!! We stopped here on a Friday evening after getting in to town and decided to sit on the patio. I started off with a Strawberry Basil HopCat Mule and loved it! I wasn't sure if I would be a fan, but I'm glad I tried it. I was hoping Andrew would try one of their house beers since they're a brewery, but he ended up getting the classic HopCat Mule. This drink made him realize he doesn't like ginger beer, but he said he didn't mind the drink. For appetizers, we went with the OG Cosmik Fries and Elote Queso. I told Andrew before we even left, the whole reason I was going to this restaurant was for these fries. They are to die for!!! I was worried I had talked them up to him because like I said I've been waiting to go for years lol. Andrew loved them, from the seasoning to the sauce. Our Queso was nothing short of fantastic either. I love Queso, Hispanic food, spicy food, the whole nine yards, but Andrew is very picky and doesn't handle spice well so I was worried with this one. It wasn't too spicy and he actually enjoyed it! For entrees, I picked the Southwest Salad after such heavy apps and Andrew picked the Killer Mac 'N Cheese with bacon and chicken. This salad was very light, yet filling and tasty. The dressing was pretty good too. Andrew Mac on the other hand was delicious. I don't think he was able to finish it, so it was definitely filling. We picked the Chocolate Pie to go since we were so stuffed and it was sooo rich. We will definitely be back in the near future!

I've been to hopcat in Kalamazoo so I recommended it to a group of basketball players who were visiting Grand Rapids. I made the assumption that the experience would be the same of the Kalamazoo location. It wasn't. The food was okay. I had the usual vegan burger. My family and the team had a large variety of the food on the menu (21 total in the party) and felt it was so-so. My sister in law cut her chicken sandwich in half and only half of the sandwich had chicken on it. The service was good considering our party size. The margarita was just ok. I wouldn't order it again.

It's a typical HopCat. Good beer selection, easy choice menu. This was a convenient spot for my boss and I to get food and a drink after a hard day at work. Noting too special.

There aren't too many solid "local" restaurant options in the Knapp's Corner area, so I was happy to hear HopCat was opening so close to my house, however my first visit was a let down. The ambiance and food were very average and was missing its usual charm; HopCat has essentially just become another mediocre, cookie-cutter chain. Unlike the Downtown Grand Rapids and East Lansing location, this one serves pizza. I got the most basic pizza (for control purposes) and it was not good. We ordered a custom cheese pizza (light cheese) with pepperoni and peppers. It was essentially just cheese bread. We made this visit the first month they opened, so maybe their pizzas have (hopefully) improved since then. Next time I go, I will stick to my usual order of a turkey burger, substitute Cosmik fries for mac & cheese. At least their drinks are still solid!!! TIP: Not many people know you can sub their fries for: - house-made slaw - house baked beans - Mexican style street corn - beer battered onion rings - house salad - killer mac & cheese - veggie chilli - 5-pepper chili - cheese ale soup

Been to this location twice now for a quick pre-movie dinner. Staff are attentive and we got in and out in about an hour both times. Same solid food as the downtown location, with maybe a little less of the "fun" atmosphere - this one somehow feels more like a chain than downtown. That being said I'm personally a fan, I've never had bad food from them, and the fries are always out of this world. Will continue to keep this as an option whenever I'm at that Celebration Cinema location.

This place is a well known staple around these parts rarely disappoints with anything on the menu. My only critique is a few things that are no longer carried on the menu (past grand which winner sloppy Joe smashing covered in cheese:yum) but there's still so many tasty options you really can't go wrong. Burgers are tasty, tacos are so flavorful, and the appetizers and fries are tough to not fill up on! Didn't get the loaded fries this time but definitely something everyone should try (the jalapeños do add a kick but that's what I like). I also enjoy their beer offerings and tried the MOBfather DIPA which was fantastic- a new top favorite New England style for me. No complaints on service and will be back at some point! They have an app to earn rewards too $10 for 100 spent so actually I have to get back next month.

We (my wife and I) where at the theater ( they were showing the Maltese falcon, how cool is that) after the show we decided to order from hopcat. I had the Rubin, Amy had the grilled cheese ( the name was more complex than that) Wow. Both sandwiches were where wonderful, the nice ladies who brought things out to the car were very nice. We are looking forward to going there again after a movie some day soon.

We've only ordered delivery or pick up from here so far and the food has been great - good size portions and great tasting! Super quick also! Looking forward to going and sitting down for a meal - I also heard they've got a pretty good beer selection!

We were fortunate enough to get invited to a soft opening this week and it didn't disappoint. The place was an absolute madhouse but the staff was doing a great job of taking care of everyone. They were telling people at the door an hour to an hour and a half. We waited in the bar with a big group of friends/colleagues and the bartenders were managing the crowd very well. We were eventually seated in the dining room and our server was fantastic. We started with Loaded Pretzel Nuggs that were at our table within 5 minutes max. They were great and we ate them so fast. The entrees took a little bit of time, but that's the point of a soft opening! The Reuben was tasty but the bottom half of the sandwich was pretty burnt but it wasn't worth complaining since all the food was free that night. The side of crack fries is a must with cheese dipping sauce. My wife had the Kitchen Sink, which she loved. Overall, this place is a great option in Knapp's Corner that can hopefully revive this restaurant dead zone. The staff was fantastic, even during a trial run soft opening, which means they can only get better! We are excited to see Grand Rapids get their second Hopcat and hopefully it'll ease up the traffic at the downtown location for game nights!

Upon pulling into the parking lot, we were a bit nervous that our wait would be substantial as the lot was full and it was 6:30 on a Friday night. Much to our surprise, they seated us right away. The location is very large and has a ton of seating. The menu wasn't anything huge, but had all sorts of different options. I ordered the Crunchy Buddha Bowl and it was probably one of the most flavorful dishes I've ever ordered in a restaurant. We also got an order of loaded cosmic fries and those were fantastic as well. Cannot wait to return.

Food is great. So much is from scratch - great flavor profiles! Get a booth because the backs of the chairs dig in to your back really bad and you are going to be there a while because the service is so slow even when the place is empty.

Though the space is great here, the food and the service were less than appealing. We came in later, about 9 pm so there's expected to be some lag on service as they wind down and start to clean up for the night, but when we asked for water at the start, it took the bartender another 7 minutes to bring them back to us. I ordered their "new" Caesar salad and my husband got the Tropic Like it's hot tacos. A good chunk of the lettuce in my salad was brown and mushy which doesn't make it appealing to eat, and they put one small blob of dressing inside the salad (they failed to toss the lettuce around in the dressing) so it was mostly just greens and chicken with cheese. I had to wait for the bartender to look at me to ask for more dressing and by the time I got it, I wasn't all that hungry from picking out all of the brown lettuce. The croutons were super hard as well. The tacos were for the most part good, but they say it comes with a pineapple salsa on top which is why my husband got them, instead they were loaded with a pico salsa that only had a scattering of pineapple actually in it. Won't be coming here again,

I wanted to get a decent burger, it was suggested I try Hopcat. First, the place is jamming! Great hometown local sports bar vibe. I sat at the bar as usual. The bartender trio working was amazing. While one took my order all 3 would check on me periodically. Great service! Awesome variety of draft beers local and abroad. I decided on the stuffed double stacked mushroom swiss burger with fries. The burger was taste, the string onions added a nice crunch, however the bun was ice cold which was strange, like it just came out of the fridge or recently thawed out. The fries were good too with plenty of S&P.

I enjoyed eating at hopcat. My boyfriend and I go out every sunday due to having to travel. The food was hard to choose from from having options. They have a dog friendly patio and everything was just nice and clean to look at. Our server was fairly new and kept forgetting some things but she would remember once walking up to the table. She'll do great.

The Buddha bowl is my favorite, followed by the vegan burger. Yum! As a vegan I sometimes find it hard to dine out, but I always find something great here. So many great beers on tap, too.

Great, but the atmosphere of the Ionia St. location is better! You're going to get a lot of the mall teenagers and movie date crowd at this location. Kosmic Fries... just do it! You'll get cravings for the rest of your life :) I went very recently, and they had just added some seasonal items to the menu. There was a bourbon apple cider cocktail that was SO good! It was beautifully presented as well, with little spiced apple slices and a pinch of cinnamon on top of the pretty-colored drink. Get them while you can!!!

Checked in using Yelp before we arrived. This is a great feature and allowed us to be seated well before some people that arrived before us. When we arrived, the person in front of us was told it would be a half hour wait. I was a couple minutes. Now the place where you have to wait is quite small for the amount of people that were waiting and I was not told that they would text me when a table was ready. This place is quite loud and I didn't hear a text come across. The only way I figured it out was that I seen a couple people getting taken to sears and I didn't hear any names called out. Then I decided to look at my phone and seen the text that came across a few minutes before. It just would have been nice to know that was how they were going to let us know. We were shown to our seats and it took a bit for someone to come over to our seat to get our drink order. When they finally did show up, she was great the rest of the time we were there. Very nice and attentive. We ordered the loaded crack fries to start. Amazing!!! Crack fries with onions, jalapeños, bacon, and I think a beer cheese sauce. That sauce made it outstanding. Best loaded fries I've had. Then we ordered our meal. We both opted to get the onion rings instead of fries with because we just had fries as the appetizer. Turned out to be a good call. Rings are great. Nice taste, nice batter, and cooked to the perfect crispness. I ordered the mushroom and swiss stuffed burger. A little under cooked, but not enough that I needed to complain or have it recooked. It wasn't the greatest burger I've had but it was good. My wife ordered the traditional Rueben sandwich. She liked what she ate. The decor was nice. Staff was friendly and it was surprisingly very clean considering how busy it was. We will definitely be back again. We will just try to hit it when it's a little less busy. Been here a couple more times since the first review. Yes we ordered the fries again. Still amazing. We tried the grilled cheese and did not care for the fact they had an apple slice on it. Will never get that again anywhere. Tried the pulled pork and I've had better. It was good, just needed a bit more sauce for my taste. Wife tried the fish and chips and loved it. Cole slaw was bland though. Got the pretzel nugs and they were good. Kind of cool how they come out.

Solid food here, they have my husbands favorite grilled cheese in town. Good beer selection.

Well, we came back and gave it another shot, and it didn't disappoint. Food was meh at best, I had a Chipotle Chicken Melt. The cheese was barely warm through, the shredded chicken with sauce was bland, and the food of the family left a lot to be desired. Unfortunately, I won't be back. Floors are dirty, bathroom is dirty, I've had my fill forever.

We stopped for a quick bite. Very impressive decor, one wall of beer cans, another of artistic tiled walls, another of beer taps and plenty of old and new beer signs. There was a beautiful outdoor seating area, booth seating and high top table seating. Service was prompt, friendly and informative. My order for a cup of Cheese Ale soup was delicious. Other foods were the burger made to order with choice of cheese, chicken wings and their Cosmic fries with cheese sauce were all delicious too!. Definitely a must try when in Grand Rapids.

The staff there is very nice and understanding about the food. And if you don't like something, they are happy to replace it.

This location is just as good, if not better, than the downtown location! They have a really fun outdoor patio that's been enclosed for the last few months with a bit of a greenhouse feel, with lanterns and greenery and wooden tables (not picnic tables). The indoor decor is very bright and vibrant. The food quality is about the same as downtown - I'm not as impressed with the cosmik fries as the rest of GR seems to be, but they have other solid menu items. On our most recent visit, we opted for the pizza rolls - which were more like pizza egg rolls, very crunchy - and the grilled cheese with roasted red pepper soup. It was delicious and had sooo much cheese, and apples(yes, on the grilled cheese) which was a pleasant surprise. I took it home and melted the cheese down a bit more but it was the servers apparent go-to, and it did not disappoint! I will say the service was a bit unprofessional- many curse words from our waitress. I was also not informed about multiple up-charges for specifications until I got my bill. not a big deal, just a bit of a turn off. Overall, I'd rather go here than the downtown location. Parking is 10x better, and you can sit outside!

Hopcat is delicious every time I come in. Last night I came in for their happy hour which is stellar.... $3 wells, 1/2 off fries and apps, and discounted beers and cocktails. Their crack (sorry, just cant bring myself to call them cosmic) fries are deliciously salty/sweet and no.. the beer cheese sauce isn't optional. It is heavenly. I'm a big fan of their pretzel bites, loaded chicken nachos, and I used to love their Angry Bird sandwich (buffalo chicken). They'll still make it for you if you request it which I think is really cool of them! but they use a chicken thigh instead of breast now and it's not ideal. Their grilled cheese has apples and honey in it and is worth a shot if you're an adventurous grilled cheese fan! Their cocktails leave a lot to be desired. I've tried 3 of them and didn't like any, and their long island is a bit too sweet and sour. Hoping to see improvement there. Our service last night was really great by the male behind the bar (he seemed managerial in his noticing of all the little details), and the girls were just ok. One forgot to bring one of our drinks, didnt give us limes with gin and tonics, and didn't give us bar napkins. Sometimes the little things add up. Overall though their fries and appetizers are enough to keep me coming back! They're worth the trip for sure!

I am very excited that a 2nd location opened in Grand Rapids, especially because this is 5 minutes from my house haha HopCat is always a thriving place, always bustling when i have been there. I recommend jumping on their waitlist, if possible, to minimize wait times. I tried their Nashville hot chicken sandwich recently and it was delicious. Nice and crisp, and just the right amount of spicy. I would highly recommend it, and of course, their crack/cozmik fries!

My wife and I have been to the downtown location before (for drinks only) so we thought we'd give this one a try, as they have an outdoor patio and we had our kids with us, and everyone was hungry. Was a bit confused about ordering the Crack Fries (excuse me...Cosmik Fries). They provide their signature sauce as an appetizer we ordered, but not as a side with a meal. 25 cents extra with a meal; not a huge deal, just doesn't make sense. I ordered the Nashville Hot Chicken. The Nashville Hot seasoning was just enough spice-hot, and not over board. The garlic aioli was what made the sandwich, if you ask me - really good; and enough that every bite had some...even up to the last bite. The bottom bun of the Brioche was a little tough, but didn't ruin the sandwich. My wife ordered the Killer Mac and Cheese with bacon. She loved it. I tried a bite, and agreed. Def one of the better restaurant M&Cs out there. Overall, great atmosphere and service like the downtown location. But, kinda surprised that our sandwich and M&C was $25 alone; especially for the portion sizes. They were really good, but not worth the price. We'll be back, but probably just for drinks, as the food is over priced.

This feels very much like an average chain burger joint to me. It does not have nearly as much character as the downtown HopCat. Not worth going out of your way for this place! The food is definitely above average and the burgers are great!! But other than that, there are better options in GR to get really good food. Be prepared to come out of this place feeling pretty groggy and weighted down as nothing on the menu makes you feel super great afterwards! (Lots of fried options with tons of cheese but then again what do you expect from a burger place!) The one thing they have going for them is their extensive beer menu so if you're just looking to grab a few drinks and explore some new beers then this place is great! The service here is also outstanding and the servers were all very friendly!

Dakota is amazing! Best server ever - he remembers EVERYTHING, without writing anything down! And he's hilarious, to boot!

Like the downtown HopCat location, I love both the concept and execution of this place. Obviously, there are a few differences between the two locations, with some things better at the downtown spot and some better at the Knapp's Corner one. First of all, the parking is obviously better at the Knapp's Corner locale. The other thing I really like is the fact that you can check in to the restaurant and place your name on the wait list using the Yelp app. This ended up saving us a lot of actual in-restaurant wait time. The waiting areas at both locations is small and uncomfortable, so checking in ahead of time is definitely recommended. On several occasions, I felt the food quality at Knapp's Corner to be a bit better than that at the downtown location, but the beer selection is similar if not the same. The decor is also a bit better here, although that is admittedly not as much of a factor in my decision to go to one place over another. That being said, there are a few things that seem worse than the downtown location: the wait times seem longer, the layout seems more cramped and the service does appear to be slower. Overall, this is a great addition to the area. I really enjoy the food and atmosphere as well as the convenience of location and parking.

We got in pretty fast, the day before Mother's Day. The staff was really nice and very attentive. I didn't have to really ask for much. It seems more like a bar than a restaurant, the food was pretty subpar, like it may all be Gordon's Food. It was ok. Menu is posted if you want to check it out.

HopCat has been growing quickly ever since they opened in downtown GR. They now have 17 locations across the country and this is the second location in Grand Rapids. Located off the East Beltline, this location has a parking lot which is probably a big draw for those who don't want to fight traffic and parking downtown. (i.e., me) My boyfriend and I stopped in a few weeks after they opened for brunch, which they don't serve at the downtown location. Brunch is offered here every Saturday and Sunday until 3 pm and includes a Bloody Mary bar. We got there right when they opened on Sunday and were seated in a large booth. I ordered the hangover scramble, which is scrambled eggs, bacon, red onion, pickled jalapeno, and cheese sauce all over crack fries. I'm not usually a huge fan of breakfast potatoes, but I would now like all my breakfasts to come with crack fries, please and thank you. It was wonderful and such a great treat. My boyfriend got the breakfast chimichanga, which was huge and stuffed with eggs, black beans, corn, sour cream, cheese, and chorizo. It was also delicious and way too indulgent. The rest of the menu is very similar if not identical to the downtown location with one other difference - they serve Detroit-style pizza here! This is something I've noticed is becoming more common and I'm all about it. I definitely want to try that soon. Our server was awesome - super attentive and quick with water and coffee refills. I was really happy with our meals and will be back as this location is super convenient.
