The room is absolutely basic but very clean, fresh and exactly what we needed. The bed is a bit hard and springy (hence the 4 stars) but other than that, it was great! Staff were friendly and helpful. It's a short walk to the a pub, iga, park, beach (where a good coffee van was located, Salty Sips). Would def come back.

Stayed here for one night. Comfortable enough but room was quite gloomy. Was very frustrated with the self serve laundry on site. Went to the trouble of changing notes for coins at reception upon checking in but weren't given a connecting plug required for one of the two machines and weren't advised that one of the two dryers was out of order (we had two loads to do that night and reception closed at 6pm). The one working dryer sounded like it had rocks in it when in use. Made for a long tiring night tending to laundry.|Next morning we were very annoyed to find there were no bowls to eat our breakfast. Had to use mugs for yoghurt/berries/nut mix.|Unfortunately not much choice at Hopetoun for accommodation.

Room has everything one needs except hair conditioner and air conditioning (the latter wasn’t needed as it was cool, but I was surprised nonetheless). CAREFUL re checking in - they charge $30 per hour for every hour after 6pm

Beautiful town great pub and cafe. This motel was terrible. Aggressive and unhelpful management when no hot water for showers. Pay in coins for clothes washing facilities that they lock the door for so there is minimal access and then a sign on the door in the room saying 10 am checkout or you pay $30 hr if you are late Terrible place to stay

Oscar has retired from Sesame Street and is now managing the Chalet resort at Hopetoun. The property rooms are basic but adequate but it’s Oscar’s attitude that made our stay so unpleasant. We had no hot water in the morning for a shower. We should have known better than to mention it. He accused us of turning off the hot water system at the mains! I wouldn’t have known where it was and why would we turn it off and then ask him if there was a problem? For kicks? Only one solution to dealing with people like Oscar - AVOID!

We very much enjoyed our two day stay in this comfortable, quiet motel. Our 'classic studio' room was exceptionally well-equipped with a kitchenette (2 hot plates, microwave, large fridge, sink) enabling us to cook dinner both nights. A guest laundrette was an advantage, though more expensive than most we've encountered. Friendly and responsive staff.

We stayed here for one night in May on our way to Esperance. Pros: Lovely and helpful lady at the front desk Good WiFi Good shower Cons: Rooms could do with a bit of TLC The beds on wheels were amusing at first! Bathroom was quite cold on a morning Overall: A comfortable and affordable place to stay!

Nice and neat chalet. Clean and well appointed room. Great to see ALL the channels on the tv. Shower was beautiful, excellent hot water temp and pressure. Room had microwave, toaster, kettle and fridge. Bed was a bit too hard and pillows were lumpy, but we managed a fair nights sleep. Room could do with an air conditioner as the oil heater could be dangerous with kids around. Aka in all a reasonable place for a few nights in lovely Hopetoun.
