Hopper Coffee Rotterdam

Really lovely service, the food was really good too, I had a lovely experience. I recommend the chorizo and cheese toasted sandwich.

This coffee shop has a plethora of vegan options. The staff is friendly, polite and knowledgeable about the menu. I enjoyed the date bread and lentil soup (vegan). Don’t take my word for it, come by and order. The espresso is smooth and tasty too.

The Hopper Coffee Café is a great and very popular place to get breakfast. There were multiple people with laptops working inside, but we still managed to find a place to sit inside. You can also sit outside, but it might be full. Food and drinks arrived quite quickly and tasted amazing! The Bruschetta looks crispy, but is super soft to eat (10/10!). The prices were a little on the expensive side, but will visit again for the great atmosphere and food!

After 40 minutes of waiting it turned out that they forgot about our order (nothing complicated, just two coffees). After a reminder waited another 15 minutes, as they wouldn’t put our order before those who ordered after us! No compensation was offered, just “thank you for your patience”. Latte art is just a joke. The vibe is nice though, and place looks pleasant.

Really nice coffee, the food looks good, too. It’s really really loud, but can’t blame them that it’s busy, just something to keep in mind if you’re planning on studying there.

Nice place to have breakfast. Service was friendly enough. The place has a nice feeling with very high ceilings it feels like being in an open space even inside. We sat at the inner bar because it was a bit chilli outside and the environment was quite good for a Sunday morning. In the pictures you can see their nice chocolate, fresh orange juice and also a tasty freshly made cake. Recommended!

We had our first breakfast in Rotterdam in this restaurant and were blown away by the flavours. The cheese toast with tomato was perfect! The cheese was melted to the perfect level, the tomatoes added some freshness and the bread was crispy and flavourful (white bread but big praise from Germany!). It is visibly prepared in the café and is delicious!) The homemade Ketchup was delicious! We loved it!The scrambled eggs were soft and together with the delicious bread a simple but tasty breakfast! As an extra we treated ourselves to the Greek yoghurt with homemade granola and dried fruit. The dish hit a spot and made me very happy. Although all the dishes were very simple in themselves, they had a lot of flavour and filled us up well!

Simple cafe with excellent coffee. Finding a cafe that celebrates filter coffee is relatively rare in the area, but Hopper is doing just that. They have filter coffee in four different ways, plus all the typical espresso drinks. I tried the Aeropress filter coffee and the regular black coffee. Definitely go with the Aeropress if you want to try a great non-traditional, non-Italian style cup. The coffee tasted light & sweet, yet still deep & flavorful -- it would fit right in with cool LA cafe coffee. The fresh mint teas and in-house baked bread looked really good, too. I noticed a lot of people solo on their laptops, so this would be a solid place to work or hang out for longer.

Just had lunch at Hopper! Nice and young place, very nice atmosphere and good food. They made their own bread and they serve it with some Italian and Spanish salami and cheese. You can find also some soups or tosti. I took a glass of white wine, there were three different types. Next time I will definitely try a cake: they look great! And there are smiling people... I like Hopper!

Large, rambunctious, happenin' spot... we're glad we stopped here to sample some truly delicious coffee after a long day touring Rotterdam. Their table service system needs work, but we made it work. My only regret is not having a pastry because theylooked pretty good... Worth a trip if you need a break from all that shopping.

this place in rotterdam is a great place to come for an early breakfast. it has a nice rustic interior with one counter with fresh baked goods and a back counter to assemble sandwiches with the fresh bread baking in the back!! since it was early, my bf and i opted for coffee (strong and great black) and an apple walnut bread. i literally could eat a loaf. it was amazing. it was mostly apple and walnut with like 5% bread. that is my kind of proportion!

Nice spot with some of the better coffee in Rotterdam, and some of the worse service. Don't get me wrong - some of the staff are very friendly, but none of them are attentive. It's normal to be seated for up to 10 minutes watching the servers attend nearby tables without coming to take your order or see if you need anything, even after looking in your direction several times. Interacting with them isn't awful, just awkward. The food is pretty good though.

They have third wave quality coffee and great ambience. There's a ground floor with large windows facing the street and a nice loft the size of about half of the square footage of the cafe. I tried their flat white and espresso - both were up to standard but not exceptional.

One of the best places to catch a bite to eat at the Rotterdam city center. The food is fantastic but the place is a bit dark. They make their own bread on the premises and it is to die for! Downside is that the noise level is high and the staff could be more client friendly.

Warning: this place has no air conditioner! In the hot summer it is impossible to sit there. Also they don't accept credit cards! That is strange in 2018 but its a fact. The coffee and pastries are great. Food looks amazing.

There are places you keep visiting time and time again and become your favourite spot to hang out so quickly and then you kinda forget all about them. But here's a friendly reminder to visit Hopper once again! With Rotterdam getting more and more coffee joints it's good to go back to the basics: really, really good coffee. Hopper also always serves an extraordinary healthy lunch that doesn't break the bank. All the bread and baked goods are freshly made in their little kitchen in the back. If you walk by you'll always find someone kneading bread and adding finishing touches to sandwiches. They offer a great workspace that is quiet enough to actually get work done and with plenty of people watching when you take your occasional break. And with Summer fast approaching you want to unwind on their terrace for as long as you can. And even better news: they are opening a second location at the Zwaanshals soon!

Love this cozy little spot! Perfect location and the coffee is consistently exceptional. Yummy treats and breads, large wine menu, great seating. We love the loft for people watching and reading as it's warm and bright and the smells from he kitchen waft right up. Great stop for lunch or a treat between the many museums on Witte de wit, or to warm up after a walk along the water. For people not accustomed to the ordering process here in The Netherlands, you sit down and they'll take your order for drinks, but you'll have to go to he bar to order food and pay. It's confusing at first but you catch on quickly!

Imho one of the best coffee in town. Relaxed environment and great to have breakfast or lunch as well.

I just love places that make you feel you are seen and invisible at the same time. Great place to just read a book or write whilst enjoying one of their loose teas and the pastry of the day. I mostly wander in for a latish lunch on a random day off from work looking to find a different atmosphere and for ideas to land. I love their houmous and tomato olive open sandwich, makes me feel healthy and less guilty when I opt for that piece of applecake after (which is delish). The bread is the star of the show - the show that is watching them make the dough and slide the bread in and out of the oven...A little lunchroom of calm and buzz with great food and drink, yet to try out their speciality alchoholic drinks with a friend...is still on the list. So hopp hopp to Hopper!

This is my go-to for breakfast or lunch or coffee. Great coffee, which they roast themselves, and a cool selection of soft drinks too. Hopper also serves my favorite ginger beer which isn't found in many other places in Rotterdam. Their breads and soups and sweets selection are also homemade! Everyone is friendly, the food is great, and it's a great place to work during the day, too! What else do you need?
