Hops Restaurant & Bar Ballito

We had just starters and cocktails but both was amazing. Milkshakes are proper ice cream variants. Kids had Lime and loved it. Food ordered by other patrons looked amazing especially the Burgers Wait for food was a little long especially being starters therefore the 4 stars. Overall amazing atmosphere with stunning views. Castle on tap from tanks on site...you could not get a greater beer. Little gem and will be amazing during summer nights.

We visited this restaurant recently and were really impressed by how beautiful the setting is—right by the beach with stunning views and a relaxed, vibrant atmosphere. There was a bit of a wait to be seated as they seemed to be struggling with seating capacity at the time, but the ambiance made it worth it. Once seated, we ordered a vegetarian pizza, and it was absolutely delicious—fresh, flavorful, and perfectly done. This place is a great pick if you’re looking for a scenic spot with good food. Just be prepared for a short wait during busy hours.

Food is great,staff are friendly and helpful. A big selection of food such as burgers,pizza,baskets,pasta,wraps and a wide range of drinks. Beer on tap,ciders,cocktails and shooters. You can sit here and overlook the ocean. The atmosphere is good too.

What a wonderful surprise! Friendly, fast and great service. The tables are very clean. The food is absolutely divine and the portions are big. Prices are more than reasonable if you take the portions in consideration. Lovely view of the sea. But what was most amazing was the fact that this is a animal friendly restaurant and bar. And the waiters are very considerate of the pets. Always watching where they walk and even bringing water. So just for this, I definitely give Hops a full score! Keep it up guys, you are the best!

Great location. But surely they can improve on the food. Especially the pizza. Impossible to do any worse than this.

The food was delicious and so fresh! We shared the mussels as a starter and then I had hake and prawns as a main, which was the best seafood I've had in a long time! I think the portion sizes are quite generous, as well! The location is also perfect - nothing better than eating seafood and watching the waves.

I would definitely give a 5 star if it wasn't for take 2. Take 1. Beers and a lovely basket for lunch. Fantastic service, great vibe. Really had a great time. 5 star all round. Take 2. Because lunch was so great we decided to go back for dinner. BIG MISTAKE. The food was fantastic! Service shocking. We were made to feel as if we were in the way of them closing. Would have like another beer but only got service when they came to clear the table. This was 19h45. Even though sitting in the non-smoking section could still smell smoke. Maybe someone was smoking at the bar. When paying the bill I did not tip, WOW what an attitude. Turned there back on us, not even a good bye or thank you for coming. When in Ballito again will definitely steer my mates away from going there.

Fantastic atmosphere with a wonderful sea view. The cocktails are delicious, and we enjoyed a bit of everything from the menu. The mussels were the highlight – absolutely the best! Highly recommend this spot for a great meal and drinks with a view.
