Their customer service was top-notch — they patiently walked me through all my dive options over the phone and followed up that same day with a detailed, itemized email outlining everything I could expect, including costs. That level of professionalism and clarity gave me total confidence. The dives themselves? Absolutely spectacular. I had the privilege of diving the Spiegel Grove and USCGC Duane, and both sites were breathtaking. The visibility, marine life, and sheer scale of the wrecks made for unforgettable underwater adventures. A huge shoutout to my dive guides — Mary, Travis, and Chelsea — who were simply the best. They were knowledgeable, safety-focused, and made every minute of each dive count. They knew all the coolest things to see and made the experience both fun and seamless. The boats were spacious and well-equipped, and the entire operation ran like a well-oiled machine. Everything was convenient, safe, and enjoyable from start to finish. If you're planning to dive in Key Largo, Horizon Divers is the team you want. I can’t wait to dive with them again!

Rick and Gabe were amazing guides. so experienced and helped tremendously with getting our friend certified. The crew was always ready at the drop of a hat to help with everything from an issue with our gear to Water to information.

Went to dive the Spiegel and what a wonderful experience it was. The entire team from check in to the boat crew were absolutely amazing. The tour was very organized, the briefings were clear and thorough and we had a fantastic time in and out of the water with Horizon Divers. The Spiegel wreck itself has a lot of life and there is so much to see and explore. I would definitely recommend.

Not only did Horizon provide a capable on friendly crew, I have to say they were also the most attractive I have ever had the pleasure to dive with. Captain Gia found the dive sites in good weather and bad. Her experience and focus on safety made for a great overall experience. This was the first time I have ever had an all female crew. These ladies know their stuff and can handle all aspects of the dive experience as well as or better than most men. Know that I have experienced the Horizon ladies in action, I think I may be spoiled for life. Nothing like coming up from a dive and being guided to my seat by these lovely ladies. Great job, Horizon for hiring these amazing employees. If you are lucky enough to get a boat with Gia and her crew, you will know what I mean!

Great experience diving with Horizon Divers! Everyone I met at Horizon was professional and friendly. I had Luke as my dive master/guide. He was patient and professional. I did 2 days of 2-tank AM shallow dive trips. We went to 4 dive sites (Double North, Chris of Abyss, Bentwood Wreck and Banana Patch). We got to see eagle rays, reef shark, gigantic goliath grouper, etc. Such a wonderful experience! The ships are also well equipped. Besides the first-aid things, they also have freshwater shower, drinking water, reef-friendly sunscreen and defog.

Great shop, great people. If you want to tech dive in the Upper Keys, this is your destination. From the owner to the boat crews and instructors, everyone was friendly and professional. You won't regret diving with Horizon!

Horizon Divers is a great choice for your dive trip. They were helpful, professional, safety-focused, and personable. It was our kids' (12 and 14) first time diving after their open water cert, and the team were well prepared and organized for new divers. Troy (captain), Rick (first mate/instructor), and Aiden (DM/guide) were helpful, sincere and fun. The setup/organization of Horizon Divers was pretty convenient: the shop/retail building is separate from the marina/rental gear so the chaos is contained. The boat was well equipped and organized with water, dry box, cooler with ice, defogger/buckets and plenty of room. Would dive with these folks again!

Staff was very friendly and professional. We did a two tank am dive. Aiden was our dive master and did a great job. Great experience and will certainly dive with them again.

My son and I dove with Horizon Divers on Saturday, May 11, 2024. We had a great experience from start to finish. I called Horizon Divers (after a reservation with another company fell through), asking if they could accommodate two Open Water divers, along with a private guide only 45 minutes before the boat left their dock. I spoke with Millie who was just awesome in getting everything arranged in very little time. We arrived at their shop, got the paperwork filled out and we were on our way to the boat with 30 minutes to spare. And there to greet us was our guide Jared. He was just awesome. He helped us set up our gear and was super responsive to our desire to take our time under the water in order to view as many species of fish as we could. He did a great job of doing just that! And after we surfaced, the wind had picked up and it was pretty choppy. As such, it wasn't too easy to get our gear switched over to a new air tank. And here again, Jared was indispensable. He totally helped both of us get our gear set up and ready for the second dive. Jared, you rock and we'd be happy to have you as our guide anytime. The crew on the boat: Gavin and Luke were also extremely helpful, knowledgeable and friendly. Excellent pre-dive briefing! Our thanks to both of you. All in all, a wonderful time. We hope to head out with Horizon Divers again.

First class dive operation. I'm an experienced, advanced, deep - but non-tech - diver and have joined their double-dip wreck dives twice. The dive boat is large, comfortable, well-kept and clean enough to eat off the deck. The staff is highly experienced, friendly, light-hearted, but 100% focused on safety. If you're diving solo here, they will require you to pay for a guide (which I think is $40, so not too expensive). Given the complexity (and potential danger) of the dive sites they visit (Spiegel Grove & Duane), a guide is a good idea anyway, and their guides are experienced and professional. Sam was my guide on my last visit and I felt as if I got a guided dive, a history lesson and a mini advanced wreck class all in one. The first dive was a fun, "light" penetration dive, which also served as a skills assessment for Sam. Once he understood our small group's skills a bit more, we did more advanced penetrations. These were still straight-through, lower-risk penetrations, but most certainly fun and interesting. Tech divers have the option to do one long dive, should the wish to go that route. (It should be noted that no one was forced to do a penetration dive and the group agreed on the type of dive that we wanted to experience) I have not utilized them for shallower dives, but their reputation and feedback is excellent for those as well. I would not hesitate joining them on a less advanced dive if I didn't want to go deep one day, or if I was diving with less experienced divers. The shop is well-stocked and the gentleman working the front desk way very polite and helpful. The boats are 5 minute drive from the shop and there is plenty of parking at both locations. The boat location has the bonus of being next to a good seafood shack, as well as around the corner for the Buzzard's Roost, which is my favorite go-to for post-dive grub. I highly recommend using Horizon. If you're staying in Miami, they're in North Key Largo, so the drive is only an hour. It's most certainly worth it.

Had a great encounter with Horizon Divers today as the reservation we had elsewhere did not work out. Super nice office staff and a great Captain (DJ). While diving we bit through a mouthpiece and a quick stop at the store fixed us up at a moment's notice. Horizon Divers isn't just a cool as hell building/sign on the highway but they back it all up with professional punch. We actually decided to reserve for some extra dives during our scheduled off days this week. Great folks!

Came to the keys for a week of diving, and Horizon were fantastic. All the captains we went out with and all the crew were super friendly and helpful, and the dives were awesome!

Our kids 12 and 14 years old signed up to receive their open water certification through Horizon Divers, as a referral course. It also had been 7 years since my wife and I went on our last dive, and we needed a refresher. I can't say enough great things about our instructor Ashlee and the Horizon Divers crew. Ashlee was extremely thorough, patient, caring, and had a great sense of humor despite a few setbacks with our certification plan. We felt 100% confident that our kids were receiving the best instruction possible and never doubted their safety. Ashlee split her time the first day providing our kids with their required skills training, and providing us with the necessary refresher skills. The second day was mostly focused on the kids, but we were able to spend both dives together as a family thanks to the help of the guide Ruven, who we really enjoyed diving with. We're looking forward to new diving experiences with our family, and our kids are on the path to become great divers thanks to Ashlee and Horizon. We will 100% choose Horizon the next time we're in the Keys.

This is an amazing shop. Extremely helpful and friendly staff, very organized yet laid back, experienced. My girlfriend and I dove with them two days in a row, the shallow reef and the Spiegel Grove wreck. Everything was seamless. Beautiful locations. We'll be back.

We have used this operation every time we've come here. My husband dives and I snorkel. They are knowledgeable and helpful. Their equipment is top notch. This is not the case for other dive shops we have used. They are flexible and work hard to get us what we want. We give them a very high recommendation!

Highly recommend! We did six shallow water dives over three days. Bobby and KL were both awesome guides to the reefs and pointed out cool animals including reef sharks and stingray. Horizon Divers has a great operation - boat was clean, not too crowded, and crew was helpful. Would dive again with them anytime!

I spent a week here and did some fun dives and a course. I have to say I enjoyed my time here and it was a good experience overall. The staff was friendly and helpful. My instructor Jeff had a great sense of humor and although he was very laid back and relaxed, he did a great job teaching and I learned a lot. I'll definitely be back in the future to do some more diving with these guys and would recommend them to anyone looking for a shop in the Key Largo area.

I went diving with Horizon Divers in Key Largo for my first time diving in the ocean. My dad was my buddy, and he has been diving hundreds of times. Still, we got a group dive master each day, and I'm really glad we did! We had a different dive master each time, and they all were great -- Hugh, Terry, and Dianne. They were able to tour us around the right loop. The best spots were on Elbow Reef and North Dry Rocks. Hugh spotted a nudibranch for us right out the gate (a red-tipped sea goddess). We saw many barracuda, moray eels, parrot fish, angel fish, grunts, and damselfish (among others!). My dad spotted two blennys, two scorpion fish, and a jawfish. Our captains -- Troy, Gabe, and Oscar -- and first mates -- Megan, Chelsea, and Ashley -- were all also really fantastic. The crew was very helpful setting up or fixing gear as needed. Highly recommend, and I hope to go back some day!

05/14/2022 My wife, Amy, and I got in 4 dives with Horizon Divers this last week. Prior to coming to Key Largo, we did our research on line and ended up picking HD on the reviews. Glad we did. All of the staff that we interacted with were great, but Troy was super-great as was Megan. (Don't forget us Troy and Megan for this 5-star review!!) Professional, personable...just all positives. Dan (who joined us on the boat one day) should be appreciative of Troy and Megan and give them both $5K bonuses this year. You're welcome, Troy and Megan. Dives were fine but on the Newbie/novice end. Cost was on the high side but I'm happy to pay that for good people. And I better get two free t-shirts next time we go...wink, wink. Thanks. Rob C.

This place is so friendly and helpful to do your scuba diving! This is where my instructor takes all his students, and the staff is great! We stayed in the bunk rooms above the shop, and my only complaint about this whole experience here is the water pressure in the shower. The place is very roomy, affordable, and comes with a shower and a kitchen. It's nice to not break the bank since scuba is not a cheap sport to get into. Now on to the fun stuff! There are several boats one can go on depending on the demand and whether one is going on a shallow or deep dive. The captains and first mates are very knowledgeable and so helpful. They help newbies like me to get into our gear, navigate the boat, get into and out of the water safely. My dives were all shallow water so the boat rides were around 20-30 minutes. They give you a 10 min warning to get into your dive gear then the captain tells you where you can go and what lies underneath to see. I got so seasick on all my dives except for the last day, but everyone was so supportive and didn't make me feel bad for throwing up everywhere. All the staff act like they are family and they treat you like one as well. Granted, my instructor used to work there so they were very welcoming. You can tell that this is their livelihood and they are very proud to do what they do! Don't forget to visit their gift shop where you can buy cool gifts and T-shirts! Just finished a trip that included 14 dives over the course of four days! Capt. Gabe and Mate Zach were absolutely spot on. Friendly, knowledgeable, and super attentive to our large group on both shallow and deep dives. Even on our first day, when conditions were more than miserable, they put us safely on prime dive locations. Highly recommend and we cannot wait to get back!!!!

Dani and Rick were terrific in taking us to a couple shallow reefs to snorkel and dive. I think they ordered perfect weather! Was a blast with beautiful reefs and tropical fish. They instructed and helped novice snorkelers and divers. Their silly jokes entertained us all. We had a great time. They were patient with all and could not ask for better boat mates! Highly recommend Horizon Divers. Thanks guys!

Amazing experience. Dove multiple days and Captain Dani and Troy were fantastic as was the rest of the crew. When diving the Speigel Grove our personal guide John was fantastic and showed us many things we would have otherwise missed. Will definitely dove with them again

Dove with Horizon Divers in June 7th for a two-tank trip on the Spiegel Grove. Rainbow Reef had cancelled on us that morning, but Horizon was still down to get wet, so we jumped on their last two spots and had a really terrific trip. Dani, the captain, and Oscar, the first mate, were super helpful. There was an instructor from Horizon (Bobby, I think) doing some guided dives or a class off of the boat, but he was still very attentive to all the customers too. Great trip, great crew, great experience. In the shop, Becca was super cool and helpful getting us set up on the trip and checking us out for some sweet merch after the dives. Didn't catch his name, but one of the other staff filled out steels for us while we waited so we could get on the road quickly. I will only dive with Horizon when I'm in Key Largo from now on!

We just did our first salt water and boat dives ever with horizon. We did the reef dives. Took us to Christ of the abyss and north dry rocks. Have only dove springs. They were awesome!!! Fun and professional. They gave us guidance on weight for salt water and were spot on. Helped setup gear and switched gear for the second dive. Someone got sick on the boat and took excellent t care of them and provided recommendations to help in the future. Our first dive they rescheduled for us after calling to let us know of rough seas and were great with rescheduling for today. Glad we did. They have a very nice shop as well. If you are diving in Key Largo, I highly recommend them!! Great crew!

My husband and I just got certified as AOW and Nitrox diver here over the weekend. The experience was amazing, we saw sharks, ray, barracuda and lots of other fish! Our instructor, Jonathan was very helpful and attentive, walked us through all the details on our dive plans, guided us around Spiegel Grove. The Horizon boat crews were nice and helpful too. Nice clean boat with fresh water and storage for your items and food. Would definitely come back again in the future.

Horrible experience took us out in the middle of a thunderstorm. Put us over 200 yards away from the reef. We also had to waste about 1500 psi just to get to the reefs. Also took us to the worst spots during mini season. Do not recommend using horizon divers rainbow reef charters are so much better.

I have used Horizon Divers a couple of times over the years. They are a very friendly and accommodating dive shop. If you plan to dive Key Largo, I strongly recommend them. Also a big shout out to Troy, Diane and the rest. You guys rock! Thank you

Highly recommend Horizon divers, my brother and I wanted to try a different company in Key Largo than the one we had used for previous trips. The overall experience with them was excellent. Our dive guide Ashley was top notch, we were well looked after and nothing was too much trouble. The diving was very good, our rental gear was in good condition, boat was clean. The catamaran used was very stable as they usually are, I didn't see anyone being seasick! Diving with Horizon was a much less "commercial" and a lot more "personal" experience for us and our next dives in Key Largo will definitely be with Horizon and ideally with Ashley. AJ - Amazing Instructor! A family of 4 - ages 46, 55, boys 16 and 20 took our Open Water Diver Certification with AJ. We ran long on day 1 in the pool so they accommodated us by extending ocean dives into day 3. This was not what we hoped for but was a great service to us. Dad was challenged by various things but found AJ very encouraging, always giving thorough explanations for everything! AJ was also appropriately stern when needed for unsafe practices but very supportive when that feedback was taken seriously and dad's skills improved to the point where he could enjoy himself. Mom and the kids had only a few issues. Spending 3 full days with AJ, we really appreciate the passion and constant feedback and are now excited and ready to continue building on skills we were taught so well! BIG thanks AJ! The captain and first mate were very caring and helpful throughout the ocean dives! The dives now feel like a whirlwind, my apologies for not remembering their names.Very highly recommended! Love this dive operation - last year I trained with them for a week and this year staying am 4+ weeks and diving most days. They welcome beginner to ten divers. All the team, shop, instructors and boat crew are super friendly and professional. Will be coming back after this stay for sure.

Horizon Divers we're absolutely FANTASTIC to work with. We made the trip down from Ohio so my fiancé could finish his OW certification. Another dive shop on the island was less than helpful after already having a reservation with them. We went down the road to Horizon and they immediately set us up with a same day class. They were EXTREMELY accommodating and Ashlee (the instructor) was super thorough, patient and kind. We have become lifelong HD customers and we are looking forward to our next trip down!

This was our first trip to the Keys, and when you want to dive the Keys then Key Largo is the lace to be. And when you dive Key Largo, Horizon Divers who you dive with. My wife set up our dives with Angie and she made sure everything went smoothly. We shipped our gear direct to their dive center and they held it for us. No concerns about weight limits on the plane. We scheduled three days of diving, and although the weather only allowed for one day, that dive did not disappoint. We went out on beautiful morning with 10 other divers giving us plenty of room on the Luna Bay. Capt. Troy took us out to Elbow, which had good viz but a mild++ current. Our dive lead, Rich, pointed out the some sea life photo ops and navigated the site. Our next stop was North North Dry Rocks. The visibility went down to fair, but little to no current. We were diving for the first time with new BCDs (Christmas Gifts) and my tank came loose on the first dive, and my wife's on the second. Rich handled it like a pro; before I even knew the tank was starting to float, he was over and strapping it down. When I saw the same thing happening to my dive buddy, he beat me to her and had it handled while I held her hand. This was my wife's first open water dive in two years and they made it fun and exciting while helping her relieve some of the apprehension of getting back in the water. I would dive with these guys everyday I'm in Key Largo, could not recommend them strongly enough. Thank you Angie, Rich, Troy and Chelsea for making it a great day!

The team at Horizons Divers is the pinnacle of the industry. Everyone is kind, fun and professional. They allow you dive your own profile and time limits. They treat experienced divers like experienced divers. The only operator I will use in Key Largo.

Was treated incredibly disrespectfully by staff when discussing going out on a dive trip this morning. Staff advised me that conditions would be rough, and when I said I understood, staff responded "You're responding too quickly to comprehend what I'm saying."

Our family of 4 took a Discover Scuba class with Gia at Horizon Divers earlier this week, and now we're hooked! The front desk was very flexible about getting us scheduled on a day that worked with our time in the Keys. All the dive equipment, wetsuit, mask, fins etc was included and great quality. After a brief morning pool session going over how to operate all the gear and basic underwater hand signals, we went out for 2 afternoon dives. Gia was a great instructor and guide, we wouldn't hesitate to recommend her to anyone looking for dive instruction or as a guide. Very happy with the whole experience at Horizon Divers.

Rison Divers is a very cool place I've been diving with them for probably about 67 years I did all my training there and they are the coolest people on earth

What a great dive shop! I have used many other companies in the keys and Horizon really stands out. They are a very efficient and professionally run business. Request Bobby Steele!!! My husband and I had an amazing experience with Bobby for our Advanced Nitrox / Decompression Procedures course. The shop accommodated our difficult schedule and all the staff were great. Bobby's teaching style was comprehensive, yet relaxed enough that we enjoyed every day. He was able to coach me through some difficulty with 1 of the skills with incredible patience. We learned more from Bobby than any other instructor we have had, and had fun while doing so. Literally could not have had a better experience. We will dive with Horizon whenever we're back in the Keys and will absolutely use Bobby for future training.

I took an advanced class with HD's instructor on their boats. Very solid instructor, good training, professional and friendly crew. They had good equipment and very knowledgeable DM's. I recommend them !

Stop looking, you found the best charter to dive Key Largo! We dove 2 days with Horizon Divers and loved every second. We called and Jessica answered the phone with a super welcoming voice and said they had 2 spots left on the boat for the following day! The staff is extremely rude. I wanted to ask them a few questions about their dives but was glared at, walked past, and never greeted or offered help. At least I know not to waste anymore time with them.

Had a great dive on the Spiegel Grove this morning with Captain Dani and team. Conditions were absolutely perfect and the crew was amazing! They're my first choice company I dive with in the keys - very professional outfit. Will be back soon, I'm ant-sy for another dive!

Horizon Divers is an amazing place for all your diving needs. They were very accommodating to us regarding our last minute booking and flexible with our vacation schedule. The boat crew always went above and beyond on all our dive trips and our deep dive instructor, Luis, was very knowledgeable and enjoyable. I completed my padi OW here and I was extremely satisfied with my experience. My instructor Justin was professional, kind and thoroughly explained everything which made me feel safe in the water. I will definitely recommend Horizon Divers to all my friends and family.

I had a great time with Horizon Divers. It was my first time diving with their operation but it felt like old times :-) Their dive shop and charter boats are very well run and they provide great support for rebreather divers which is something I was looking for. I was able to rent CCR cylinders and bailout bottles from them without any issues. I dove the Northern Light on their charter boat Pisces. Dan was running an OC trimix course and was nice enough to let me tag along behind their group. Capt. Jame absolutely nailed the drop and we drifted perfectly into the wreck. Biff was crewing and she did an awesome job of helping everyone gear up. I also did a double dip on the Duane aboard the Cheeca View and was able to get a nice 90 minute run time before I got too cold. I will be definitely be diving with them again next time I'm in Key Largo..
