Horizon Inn & Ocean View Lodge

Lovely, clean, cozy room with a fireplace, refrigerator, microwave and Keurig machine (coffee & tea pods provided). Tasty continental breakfast brought to your room every morning, that was different every day. Enjoyed their daily Happy Hour (4-6pm) of free wine and cheese, and because of the time of year, took our drinks & snacks to our balcony and watched the amazing sunsets every night (room 120 has an awesome ocean view). The staff was very nice. The location is great. Walkable to downtown Carmel (although at night it is dark, no street lights, we used our phone light to see as some of the sidewalks were a bit uneven). And it is all uphill on the return. Overall, had a really nice stay and would totally recommend.

I never leave reviews but this gem was worth reviewing. The staff is kind and friendly, the grounds are adorable and the rooms are clean and cozy. Beautiful patio was spa, fire pit and fire place. Delicious happy hour with local wines and cheeses, fruit, crackers. A filling continental breakfast delivered to your door in a picnic basket. Affordable rates. We will definitely be back again, we had a wonderful time!

My husband and I spent 4 lovely days at the Horizon Inn and Oceanview Lodge. Our Lodge room was clean, spacious enough with adequate closet and drawer space; and we enjoyed the fireplace and the special touches of microwave oven, small refrigerator, Keurig coffee maker and counter space. A lovely feature was the balcony with an ocean view. And especially delightful was the delivery each morning of a picnic basket filled with Continental breakfast goodies!|The shops and restaurants of Carmel are just down the hill by way of a shortLodge.|And the outdoor portion of the Lodge is so nice with a firepit and a jacuzzi on a lovely patio.|We will definitely be returning to this welcoming, comfortable lodge.

This was the perfect place to stay during our vacation to Carmel. The staff was friendly and responsive. We loved receiving the basket of breakfast each morning. It was just enough to keep us full until lunch. Although we had a car, we walked everywhere during our stay, even down to the beach. The hotel is up a hill, so be prepared for that. I enjoyed getting the burst of exercise after all the great eating we did. We'd definitely stay here again.

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed three nights last week at the Horizon Inn. This is a boutique hotel with many nice touches that make it rise above the norm:|- Continental "Breakfast baskets" each morning at your doorstep. |- Fireplace in the room. Great for cool mornings and evening atmosphere. |- Great service at front desk.|- Wine, cheese, crackers and grapes every evening.|- Lovely gathering place with firepit, spa, and sitting areas. |- Very quiet location but still a walk to the shops and restaurants (one in particular you should try is Lafa ... just two blocks away). ||Would absolutely stay here again.

We came here for a girls weekend and had a great time! Friendly staff and a fantastic happy hour with cheese and local wine (included with the stay). The hot tub and fire pits were a lovely addition - make sure you leave time to soak and sit near the fire! Our room had an ocean view, and for the price, you can’t beat it. The continental picnic basket breakfast is a really nice touch. Much better amenities than similarly priced hotels in Carmel. Will stay again!

Horizon Inn was a great place to stay for our weekend in Carmel! We came to town for a wedding (Carmel Mission Basilica + La Playa Hotel) and were so excited to be nearby all the events at the Horizon Inn. The Horizon Inn is located within walking distance of restaurants / cafes / bars. Our room was clean and the service was impeccable. We had to wake up early one morning for wedding events before the usual breakfast delivery, so the Horizon team brought us a basket of food the night before to snack on. Will definitely be coming back to stay!

We booked the day of and our options were limited on where to stay since it was a busy Saturday night. We were so pleased horizon inn had room for us. We were greeted warmly and checked in efficiently with Rudy. They were serving cheese and wine when we arrived in the lobby. Our room was large, clean and very comfortable. We had dinner at 7D downtown and it was an 8 minute, easy, beautiful walk. We will be back!
