The location is very good, the breakfast is pleasant. The rooms are very basic and get very hot. There is not air conditioning and the windows only open a little, thus I couldn’t sleep the whole night. As the whole point of a hotel is to offer a good night’s rest then this stay was very disappointing.

Some colleagues and I chose The Hornavan Hotell for dinner. The service was very friendly and competent. We had a dinner menu with beef steak and a dessert. Both were delicious and the price was also quite okay. Unfortunately, we didn't get to enjoy reindeer or moose as we could only choose between beef, fish and a vegetarian option. But that was our fault, as we hadn't looked at the menu beforehand. All in all, highly recommended!

We spent a night in this pleasant but slightly run down hotel located on the shores of Lake Hornavan, Sweden's deepest lake. In addition, we had our private white reindeer grazing the strip of land between our building and the lake. Despite arriving just before the kitchen closed in the evening, they served the six of us an excellent dinner featuring local specialities. Beds are fine but the bathrooms and most of the premises would need a restoration, sooner rather than later. Breakfast is OK. Recommended for its authenticity.

Room was fine, warm, comfortable and clean, but a tad tired looking. Reception staff, although did what they were meant to, appeared as if they were called upon to do the job at short notice, not particularly good at customer facing roles. Didn’t really appear to know how to interact. Plus, one of them was continuously sniff/snorting loudly from the back of their nose/throat, in the public areas, where people were trying to drink and eat snacks, as the restaurant was closed. I really cannot emphasise just how disgusting this was. Also a bit odd with all the dead stuffed animals, but that’s just a personal thing. Shame really, as the hotel is in a beautiful location and has so much potential, but lacks any atmosphere or character whatsoever. Breakfast was fine.

The staff is nice and so kind. But the bed is small one as I was in a double bed room. TV channel has about 25 channels. The breakfast is simple and seves fresh ingridients. It has a laundry machine and dry machine. But the hair dryer in my #126 room was malfunction. I will check if it is going to be fixed by the staff who is off during every weekend. The cleaning time is so late about 2PM.

I visited the hotel on a tour of the North. It was low season so the hotel was very quiet. I guess we were about five guests during the two night stay so the hotel was not fully operational. The restaurant was closed during the evenings which was fully understandable. ||The standard of the room was good. I stayed in one of the newly renovated rooms on the third floor. ||The breakfast buffet was fine but not too excessive. ||I used the gym, sauna and jacuzzi and everything was working which not always a the case and in hotel gyms.

Very basic hotel, I think it’s mostly for the car testers during the winter months who come and work around here. As a tourist couple I think it’s ok for the night if you just looking for a place to sleep as there are few options. Unfortunately small window for the lovely view. Staff doesn’t know anything, they are seasonal workers and not locals. Stayed in room 32X
