After nine years I came back to Iquitos for a week vacation. It was the third time that I stayed at Hospedaje Las Golondrinas. It feels like a home, clean, safe, and always welcomed by Rosita (the owner) and Elbert (her right hand). They are so friendly and caring. We enjoyed the pool so much. It is rear to find a pool in a hostel that it is why I always come back to Las Golondrinas. Likewise, this place is so convenient because of its walkable location to the main square, pharmacies, restaurants, the boulevard, banks, laundry, supermarkets, convenient stores, and fresh markets. We walked most of the time. We highly recommend it! Also, my friend and I booked one of their 3d/2n tours by Jungle Wolf Expedition. It was so amazing and exciting. Thanks to our tour guide David and all the staff who care for us and make our delicious meals based with local ingredients. Rosita you are the best! You have a great staff and everything was well organized and punctual. You made my friend’s dream came true. She always wanted to visit Iquitos, the jungle and to see the stunning and impressive Amazon River. Thank you very much! M & M

This place wasn't really my cup of tea. A big disappointment for me is that the kitchen closes at 6 pm which I find a weird time for a hostel and it's difficult to make dinner. It's pretty much a homestay which I don't really like: I prefer when the guests of the hostel can live separately from the people who live here, since it's more comfortable and less awkward. The wifi doesn't work good, sometimes just not at all, which can be difficult when you want to book hostels, busses etc. The owners leave food in the pans for hours, which is not really hygienic and you can't use those. The plates, glasses, forks etc. smell and taste musty. There is no atmosphere. The pool is clean though, the rooms are okay and the prices are good. Overall just not what I'm looking for.

I had no issues other than not knowing how to unlock the door at first. I was in a private room there, which you should definitely do as a solo traveller. The price isn't much more expensive than a shared bed. Had a bed, desk, shower, sink, toilet. What else is needed for a good stay. With the fan it comfortable enough to sleep, and I'm from Canada. The heat honestly was not that bad, with the rain it cool in the room. The family was friend, and had no real issues with them. I would stay here again if I came back to Iquitos and wasn't rich enough for 3 star hotels yet.

Nice place to stay! A private room is affordable and has everything you'll need. The pool is clean and great to cool down after a warm day. The staff, Herbert, is really friendly and helpful!

I've spent 3 weeks in Hospedaje Golondrinas in July 2018, and I couldn't wish for a better place. Rosa, the owner runs the hostal with the help of Hebert, who speaks well English. They are always welcoming and happy to have a chat in Spanish or English. As I was working during my stay, for me it was crucial to feel safe not only myself, but my valuable stuff as well. You can enter to the hostal only after ringing a bell so that someone comes and opens the door for you. This is a good way of controlling people. It's a quite small place having only a couple of rooms, so you have chance to get to know people better. There is a nicely equipped kitchen and a pool where you can refresh yourself. The wifi is quite weak, but I hardly found better one in the entire city. I can absolutely recommend this place!||||Thank you Rosa and Hebert for your kindness, you made my stay in Iquitos a great experience. I hope I can return in the near future (: ||||Muchas gracias Rosa y Hebert por todo tu apoyo y amistad! Espero que pueda volver en el futuro cercano.(: Mis mejores deseos! Un abrazo fuerte, ||||Annamaria

Friendly staff. Good accomodation for the price. We booked our Amazon tour with them too, in May 2017. Best tour during our 4month trip. The guide's English was perfect. All excursions were private with our own boatman too. The food was amazing and plentiful.||Definitely recommend.

We only stayed one night at this hostel but we had a great experience. We were greeted by Heber (?) who spoke great english and was very helpful and friendly. He provided us details on the city and the Amazon tours and we were able to book one the night of. No complaints about the room, which even had a mini "outdoor" room to hang our damp clothes and a fan to keep things cool. No A/C which is fine and expected. Showers were also cold, but refreshing as it was so humid and warm there! The location is a 10-15 minute walk to the main square with many restaurants and stores along the way.

After staying with Rosa at the Jungle Wolf Lodge we were glad to stay at her family run hostel. Access to kitchen & pool are stellar. Location is central to the city and prime for exploring. A quiet neighborhood makes resting easy & motortaxi is quickly available anywhere. A great deal for the price. The family was super helpful in printing our boarding passes for the flight out, even with the consideration of a massive language barrier. These folks are willing to help you enjoy your stay in any way! Rosa is the best Iquitos Mom we could have asked for!
