Very nice and carrefull staff. Very great location to go by foot to the park. Place is big and comfortable.

Mariposa was a lovely place to stay in Monteverde. It is very close to the entrance to the cloud forest ... .in fact, you could walk there (although it is very steep) and not too far from Santa Elena. It is very quiet. We stayed in a family sized room that was the top floor (although you enter at parking lot level) of a two story house. The balcony around our floor offered a beautiful view of the surrounding forest. The accommodation were very comfortable. Each of the two rooms had it own bathroom. One room was a master suite, the other had a twin and a double bed, and there was a large common area for cooking, eating, sending messages home. The furnishings were very comfortable and we slept very well! The owner of the Mariposa set us up with a wonderful nature guide (who happens to be his brother, Sergio) for night time walk, a morning bird walk and a tour of the cloud forest. We had such an excelelnt stay and saw so many birds (yes, including the resplendent quetzal) and animals (even a surprisingly perky sloth!). We highly recommend staying at the Mariposa when you are in Monteverde. We also highly recommend hiring a local guide . . . . you see so much more than you would on your own .. . .and Sergio was fabulous and easy-going as well as fun to be with. Oh . . . . and eat at Stellas .... for a great breakfast.

Stayed here in April 2024. We stayed in the beautiful 2 bdrm suite with the huge kitchen and spacious living eating area. Was so peaceful and just the greatest experience I have ever had staying anywhere... the beds were super comfy and yes, great pillows!!! loved the gas stove... we were there with our two grandsons... they loved that their room had its own bathroom... we went for a 1.5 hour walk in the morning exploring... Estaban was so helpful for anything we asked about... will be back was something I told myself when leaving... oh, loved all the beautiful flowers as you enter and as you leave... My daughter Jamie and her husband and our grandkids are visiting from Canada next month. Just booked another nights stay... so looking forward to sharing this Experience with them... this is so much more than a nights stay/sleep... ||Really felt like coming home... clean and welcoming in EVERY way. thank you...

We had a great time! Lovely setting in the jungle - quiet, relaxing and comfortable. It’s also great for bird watching with a variety of birds just in front of our porch! Kind and helpful staff and easy access to various attractions in the area. I would definitely recommend this place and will be pleased to be able to return!

We loved this spot! The rooms were clean with a nice outdoor porch that we often hung out at, and the prices were totally affordable (there's a small discount for paying in cash too). There is also a nice garden with a table that we found ~20 species of bird in! The staff were incredibly helpful and friendly and made us super comfortable before we arrived, and during our visit. The hotel was walking distance from the main cloud forest reserve making it a nice spot for visitors interested in natural history. We'll definitely be staying here next time we're in Monteverde!

What a wonderful place to stay in Monteverde! This is a family-owned hotel, with comfortable, clean rooms that are quiet. The grounds are beautifully maintained and add to the calming atmosphere. The owners are especially kind and knowledgeable. It’s also a short drive to the Cloud Forest Reserve or the hustle and bustle of Santa Elena—but you’ll feel a world away in this quiet retreat. This is the place to stay!

Off the beaten path of the main Monteverde town, and a 25 min walk from the Monteverde cloud forest! Our host at check-in is very kind and provided a map of the area. The reception building has a living and dining room, which was nice to enjoy a book and for us to eat. Our room was a 30 second walk from the reception building. There was a nice patio outside to enjoy the garden and birds. The room is simple, cleanand included a coffee maker. There is a steep incline to find the hote, and parking needed to be well organized, which the host helped directed us. Enjoy your stay!

Friendly owner gave us lots of information. The location is great for visiting the Monteverde Cloud Forest (shuttle bus is a 1 minute drive or 3 minute walk up the road). We stayed in the 2 bed, 5 person accommodation and it had everything you need for a few nights stay. Kitchen has all the basic so we were able to cook easily one night. It's very spacious and easy to find. For food, you can eat at restaurant over the road, drive into town (5 minutes) or order in easily using the local delivery app Monteverde en Casa (a choice of lots of restaurants in the nearby area. Our order at a weekend evening from 2 different restaurants only took 35 minutes and was delicious).
