Hospedaje Mulege

We just returned from Puerto Penasco for our 50th wedding anniversary where we stayed at the Hospedaje Mulege. The hotel, really more of an inn or a ten room bed and breakfast is great. We appreciate real comfort and it was readily available here. The owners built it from the ground up and a shovel at a time. Israel is a native of Puerto Penasco and formerly drove trucks in the US from California to AZ, NM and TX. His bride Lupita was born in the US. The couple is. blessed with intelligence, tact, willingness to work hard. They not only have built their dreams, but with the help of their son, they do an excellent job of running the place. The rooms are very clean and comfortable. The staff is extremely helpful. One thing I look for in businesses I patronize is how the staff interacts with each other. This is just a great team. The. lady who cooks a simple, nourishing breakfast is not only a competent cook, but she starts your day with a smile. The young lady who is the office manager is informative and very helpful. Her English is very good. The maids who work the rooms are very professional. The location is perfect as it is an easy walk from to the Malecon or boardwalk. A word of advice. The streets are on the side of a mountain which plays hell with our GPS. The easiest way to find it is to drive to the Malecon and then drive up the hill to the hotel. I heard negative comments about Puerto Penasco, but the hotel and the people I encountered while in town changed my perspective completely. It was very hot while we were there....102*F, but the air-conditioned rooms were great. Mr. and Mrs. Acuña are very successful because they do everything they can to treat others as they want to be treated.

This is a great little gem - location is within walking distance to the boardwalk and many restaurants and pubs. It was our first time in Peurto Penasco and our hosts Danny and Dora couldn’t have been more welcoming and helpful in providing us with directions and information about the area. The rooms were very clean with very comfortable beds and pillows - couldn’t have asked for better! A very tasty freshly made breakfast was included in our rate - excellent value for the dollar! We will definitely return to this location if we are in the area again and would recommend it to others|

We have stayed here more than a handful of times. Absolutely love this place!! The view is amazing and it's just far enough away from everything to not be too loud. Comfy beds, super clean, the most updated place we have stayed besides one of the resorts. Love the Free Breakfast!! Just wish they had a pool..

My favorite place to stay when in RP. Beautiful property with secure lot parking. King rooms on 3rd floor have astounding views. Be sure not to miss the complimentary breakfast!! It's off the chart as far as "free breakfast" is concerned. Owners are great people. Always, always are there to make sure your stay is enjoyable. There is a top floor vista deck , check out the sunsets and listen to the sounds of the Malecon's vibe come life. Walking distance to anything you need.

We really enjoyed this place. It was very clean. The staff was really nice. The beds are comfortable which seems to be rare for mexico. The breakfast was awesome! The only thing I could say is maybe add privacy to the bathroom windows. Other then that, there was nothing even slightly negative to say. We will definitely stay again!!!

First time in Mexico and absolutely loved the room I stayed in (room #1). Amazing view of the ocean and even had a rooftop patio which was a really cool surprise. Super fun area close to all the bars and shops and I felt safe walking around even late at night. I will definitely be back :)!

Perfect location, easy walking distance to lots of restaurants the water and the malacon. Hotel and grounds are super clean and well kept. Room was very nice for the price with large and comfortable beds, a well appointed bathroom and a fresh sea breeze view. The staff was friendly and helpful to a person. Our maid was the best, even supplying us an excellent local map. Breakfast was a freshly made egg dish of our choosing along with toast, homemade tortillas and sides. The chef was excellent and his pleasant demeanor is just the thing to get your morning off to a good start.|Hospedaje Mulege is a wonderful place to stay and enjoy the unique place that is Puerto Penasco.

Room was immaculate! The view of the ocean was also incredible. You’re not right in the action of the town but you’re within a 5 minute walk to the heart of everything. Breakfast was included and was one of the best meals we had during our stay. Staff was super friendly. We left our first morning in a rush to get out and do stuff and our clothes were strewn about the bed, the housekeeper actually folded our things and had them hung up as well. It was genuinely above and beyond. We will be making this our regular place to stay on our trips! We have stayed at a pricier resort in the beach and it didn’t compare to this place at all!
