This homestay/hotel is a classic example of "home sweet home… if your home happens to be in Patagonia and prone to strong winds." We had a room with two beds and shared a bathroom with a handful of other guests (thankfully, only three rooms were occupied during our stay, so bathroom traffic was minimal). The room was clean and sufficient – basic, but it did the job. There was a TV, which was a nice touch, except there was no socket to plug it into. One socket per room? It's like a game of electrical Tetris, trying to decide which device gets the precious power.
The real star of the show, however, was the Patagonian wind. It howled and whistled throughout the night, making our room sound like a ship battling a storm. It also got a bit chilly (and the bed was a tad short for my long frame, so I was slightly curled up like a… well, like a Patagonian pufferfish). Think "cozy" meets "slightly wind-battered."
On the plus side, the bathrooms were spectacularly clean – a major win! And the view was… sufficient. Let's just say it wasn't the reason we chose this place. The location, however, was fantastic, close to everything we needed. And in the morning, the owner kindly provided hot water, which was a welcome touch after our windy night.
