I have stayed here at least four times and this time I stayed in the Albergue section as opposed to the hotel. There’s not a lot of difference other than it’s less well maintained. I was happy to stay here as I like the peace and tranquility and the staff are kind. The only thing I missed in the bathroom was a bath mat as the floor gets wet. Pilgrim rooms do vary as some have a table and chair and some just a small school size chair desk. Views vary too but the windows are small and rectangular with views of the hills. There’s one working power plug which takes some hunting around to find on the walls as the obvious one didn’t fit a modern plug. You get one bar of soap and liquid soap is available in a dispenser in the shower which is also a shampoo. There’s no water in the room but you can fill your water bottle from a dispenser just past the reception desk. Breakfast is always included in the price. It’s a buffet with a fair choice but it can get quite busy. There’s a restaurant but the food is a bit hit and miss but it’s quite an experience and the wine has their own label. The bar has comfortable seating and the barman is quite a character.

One of the oldest monastery turned hotels and really large and nice venue with many rooms and a large dining and breakfast area. Very basic small room with small showers and basic &simple beds but clean and nicely cool and with a view sometimes. Reasonable prices and HAS elevator☺️. Nice meeting rooms for booking group events that we all enjoyed. Most importantly during an electricity power blackout, this hotel is one of the very few places that has power. We feel so lucky. Prepare some cash as at power outage, only cash 💰 is accepted 😌

We enjoyed our stay in this beautiful, historic hotel XVIth century monestary right next to the cathedral and square at the end of the Camino de Santiago. The rooms are modest but very clean. There is no air conditioning and there are no TVs, but we were out enjoying the town so it wasn't a problem for us. The shower was tiny but had good water pressure and the bed was comfy. I was happy that it was quiet at night even being right next to the square. The cloisters, gardens, and restaurants were beautiful and tranquil. Overall a great place to stay after finishing the Camino.

Location is very central, right beside the Cathedral. I understand that the hotel used to be part of a (still active) monastery so the place feels like there's a lot of history. Rooms are basic but is as expected. Walls are just quite think so I heard every movement from next door but everyone I think tries their best to not disturb. Not a big deal for me. Service is excellent. Didn't try having my meals in so can't speak for the food quality but they do offer meals. Would definitely book here again when I return to Santiago de Compostela.

So I booked here on the advice of a friend. The first thing we were given a key to a room with a very surprised woman who was just out of the shower. Then we were given the correct room, but no AC! The walls are thick OK...maybe you don't need it. But for 10€ less we could have stayed at the Windsor Hotel, just a short walk away. In two days we will stay at the Nomade so then you will have our report there. I'm glad I didn't book the dinner based on the photo of reviewer. Maybe good for a pilgrim meal, but go to 'do Bispo' for very good seafood. Those razor clams were outta this world!

I checked out of San Martin Pinario earlier than planned due to a horrible experience with bed bugs in my room. I was badly bitten and reacted to the bites which caused me to feel quite ill. I am extremely disappointed at the lack of service recovery I have received regarding this awful experience. On checking out, when I asked for a refund I was told to email the manager which I did 4 times in the following week without any response. I visited the hotel in person twice and on the second occasion, after being kept waiting for an hour, I was offered a refund of 28 euros which just added insult to injury. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

If you like Peace and Quiet this is not the Place to stay, room awful , dinning room staff fantastic they need a gold medal for what they have to put up with in the breakfast room ! breakfast is good, evening meal very good, very clean !! location right by Cathedral , but wouldn't stay here again even if you gave me a FREE room, very unfriendly place.

My experience at this hotel was truly horrible. I was bitten by bedbugs. Once I realised what was happening I was able to move to a different room. The receptionist told me the beds are checked every day. If this is the case my problem would not have occurred in the first place. I was not able to sleep or relax in the new room for fear of the same thing happening again. I searched for alternative accommodation and checked out earlier than planned. When I asked for a full refund to compensate for this awful experience I was told to email the manager. Over the next week I emailed 4 times and was totally ignored. I visited the hotel again in person and on the second occasion after being kept waiting for an hour I was offered a refund of 28 euros which just added insult to injury. I would not recommend anyone to stay in this hotel. It might look clean but their hygiene policies are suspect. If you have a problem the service recovery is zero. I have no confidence whatsoever in the management.
