Easy contact, quick responses to questions, very artistic decor, easy walk from port to hotel and yet nicely tucked away in the old town area. Hostess was most helpful and polite, plus her English was far better than my Spanish. Would definitely return if I was in the area.

For our first time in Tarifa, we could not have chosen a better place. This is a five-room gem in the midst of the lively center (yes-earpods are provided). The hostess is superb and incredibly helpful, but above all, this is the sort of place you know that you Will come back to and recommend if you like cool boutique hotels. A Mama Shelter feeling with wild design details and slightly kinky touches…

Located in the heart of Tarifa, this place is a little wonder. Despite our late request, we were wonderfully welcomed in a very clean and spacious bedroom. This address is a must have in Tarifa !

We had a wonderful stay here in mid September. The Hospederia has a modern funky interior and Luisa provides excellent recommendations to allow you to make the most of your stay. Our room faced the street and apparently on Friday and Saturday nights the passersby can be quite noisy (despite insulation and double glazing) - our first night was a Sunday and there were no noise issues! If noise bothers you ask for a room that doesn't face that street. Our room was very spacious, with quirky modern styling and a very comfortable bed. Breakfast was served downstairs, mainly buffet style with a nice selection. You entered the Hospederia by entering a code and the key then gives access to your room. Be aware that there is no reception and staff in the lobby area: you let Luisa know when you are planning to arrive and she will be there to greet you. Highly recommend both the Hospederia and Tarifa.

Highly recommend Hospederia Diez y Seis. We had a one night stay to enable us to get the Ferry to Tangiers, perfect location to Ferry Terminal approx. 5min walk and that is with trundling a large suitcase. ||This is no ordinary Hosperderia ! Very eclectic extremely interesting furniture and fit out. From the moment we arrived and were greeted so enthusiastically and warmly by Louisa you felt like a family member. The place has been purpose built, 5 private Guest bedrooms with own ensuites. - best bed we had slept in for 3 weeks. Rooms very secure. Guest dining, sitting area ... help yourself to tea coffee & cold drinks. Breakfast is ample, all beautifully laid out, make your own fresh orange juice, coffee etc. sit with other guests. We stayed in Blanco - Nero room great room but does get a little pedestrian noise at night. Lots to see in Tarifa we filled in a day. Would definitely stay here again - value for money||Ask Louisa for restaurant recommendation off San Francisco Street ( I think it is in Pedro Cortez) - very good !!”

Check in process was terrible. This is not hotel and they don't have front office which is OK if the owner would take care of it. I called the day before to arrange the check in and she told me that I should call back in an hour before our arrival and she will give us a code to enter the building. The next day I started to call her, but she never picked up the phone. The payment for our stay was charged already, but we didn't know how we would get in. So we came to the place and just knocked the door. Someone was waitning for us, so we were able to check in. I wonder why she couldn't text us and tell that someone is expecting us. Why did she make me to call her if she knew that she will not pick up? I was very concerned where we would stay the night because she didn't answer the phone. We felt very unwellcomed. Nobody explained us what we can use there and what to do with the key when we check out. Also WiFi connection was really really bad. Would never recommend anyone to stay there.

We visited the Hospederia 16 yesterday for our single night in Tarifa. We were expecting more than what we got, and that's the bottom line. The first impression was excellent: excellent situation in the middle of Tarifa's old town, beautifully renovated house, unique furniture pieces and concept rooms (we stayed in "erotica" with a bed chained to the ceiling and with a mirror fixed to it). However, the rest of the experience was somehow mediocre... the staff wasn't really service oriented (although friendly, but only sometimes), the breakfast was a disappointment (small buffet with very little choice), and the place was lacking an atmosphere, it felt void, a place with no soul.|We could recommend the place for a one night stay in an unconventional place, but would not recommend for a longer stay.

A fantastic location in the heart of the action. The staff are so attentive. Made us feel like family guests. The building and everything in it are really cool. Lots of history and stories. The room was great. Comfy bed and great rain shower. Loved it.
