The historic building has been preserved while incorporating modern conveniences and comforts. The room was spacious and comfortable with a nice balcony overlooking the garden. The area was quiet and peaceful and very walkable. Most impressive was the excellent customer service and delicious meals for both breakfast and dinner

Staff are very friendly & helpful, estate reception- Ivan & Guadeloup in particular. The hotel is an old palace situated in town’s main plaza. Easy access to carpark. Old part & new part to hotel. We stayed in the old part. Room was very large but had a few safety hazards- it was on two levels & there was nothing to stop you walking off top level onto lower one. Granted the drop was only about 40cm but as it was on the way to the bathroom, it could prove a fall hazard. We placed the chairs & cushions along it to prevent any accidents. Everything else was fine, food on the set menu was very good. Grounds well kept & there was a lovely outdoor pool. Very lovely little town.

Historic building in a great location. Stayed two nights. We had the tasty Caza menu served by the excellent waiter Pago.

Exceptional hotel in a beautiful building and square. The half board option at 90 for 1 person is great value with an exceptional dinner and breakfast.

Beautiful building in the center of a town, but unfortunately had the worst experience due to it not being well maintained. Our room had some weird bugs everywhere, there were a few crawling in the bed, on the chairs, tables, on all surfaces and in all corners. Some of them also seemed dead and to have been there for a while. We freaked out and had to shake all of the bags and clothes that we left earlier in the room to remove the bugs, packed and went to the reception. The hotel offered another room they had available and upon inspection it seemed to not have the same problem, however we did find a lot of dust, and spiderwebs in most corners, and it has a weird smell that didn't seem to go away. There was no real explanation why the previous room had such a big problem, every person we spoke to said something different (a few of local bugs couldn't be avoided, they changed the spray for the wood recently, there was a disinfection or that there would be). Nobody was rude, people tried to be helpful but also didn't seem to care much (no one even checked the room). In any case though it was obvious the rooms weren't properly cleaned as THAT amount of insects isn't in any way normal, even if they are some local bug that couldn't be completely avoided. We saw a few crawling around the hotels's top floor below the wooden ceiling too, and I don't think we were the first to ever notice it. The combination of the bad smell in the new room, the changing of the rooms and checking for the bugs, seeing all the dirt, the weird bugs themselves - resulted in me being too anxious to sleep. We left the next morning absolutely exhausted and I couldn't wait to get away from that hotel. Such a shame though because the building is nice and they have a cute garden, but it needs a thorough cleaning. We had dinner there that was underwhelming, with very very slow service; but the breakfast was great, and the staff there very friendly and welcoming. Would not return and would not recommend.

The rooms we were given did not match the ones that were advertised in the photos when we booked (specifically upgraded ones). We booked two, one didn't have a safe, the other had it but it wasn't working. The rooms in general felt stale and more like a 3*. No coffee maker, paper cups in one room, none in the other. We stayed in a much cheaper 4* the night before which was way better in comparison. The gym only had cardio machines (very, very old ones) with 1 cable rack, no working A/C, and had to be unlocked per request. The staff was friendly but had to work to find them -- arrived at 2:30 pm and while check-in starts at 2, had to wait until 2:50 for the receptionist to show up (we tried ringing the bell). The dinner was limited options, small portions, but tasty - the first seating is typical for Spain starts at 8:30. Breakfast was really good though. Beautiful location, plenty of parking, 2 EV tesla chargers. The pool is closed until June 1st.

Travelling down from Santander to the Algarve, we were using this as one of two stop overs.|What a wonderful little town in the middle of no where. Friendly, rustic, clean and quite impressive. The hotel accommodation was excellent value for money, comfortable, clean, appealing with very helpful staff. Good value for money, we will return again.

This hotel is only about 15 Km from the A66 but it feels very remote. The hotel itself is typical of the Hospederias group in that it is in a lovely old building, in this case a former palace. The original building has a very modern extension. We were delighted with our room which was large and had a private balcony looking out over the pleasant garden. Our dog was made welcome with a bed, bowl and doggie wipes waiting for him in our room. However, dog owners should be aware that dogs are not allowed in any of the hotel's public areas. The hotel is sited on the main square, a very imposing medieval space surrounded by stone colonnades. All this made for a very relaxing stop over on our way South. But the town itself is very quiet. There is only one restaurant as an alternative to the hotel and a couple of local bars. We walked round on a Saturday evening and found it almost devoid of life. Unfortunately it does have several churches and on Sunday morning we were awoken by the church bell at 8am.
