Alameda Hostal Boutique in Tarifa offers a practical stay for those planning an early ferry to Tangier, thanks to its proximity to the terminal. However, for travelers seeking comfort and ease of access, the experience comes with some notable challenges.||Arrival & Parking – A Major Inconvenience||If you’re driving, be prepared for a frustrating parking situation. The hotel is located in an area where street parking is nearly impossible to find, often requiring over an hour of searching. A more viable option is the Ferry Terminal parking, but availability during the day is not guaranteed, and overnight parking can cost around €20 per 24 hours—a steep price for those on a budget. The best strategy is to park temporarily for check-in and then decide whether to take the paid parking option or try your luck on the streets.||Check-in & Room Assignment||The check-in process was slightly slow but reasonable, taking about five minutes. One peculiarity of the hotel is that rooms are not in the same building as the reception. Our room was located in another building approximately 100 yards away, a minor inconvenience if carrying luggage.||The lobby of this second building is modest, featuring a microwave, sitting area, dining table, and a vending machine—functional but not particularly inviting.||Room & Comfort||We booked a triple single room, which, while adequate, felt compact for three people. The bathroom was on the smaller side and somewhat dated, which may disappoint guests expecting a more modern touch.||Location – Ideal for Ferry Access, But Consider Exploring Beyond the Old Town||The location is the highlight of the hotel, especially for those catching an early ferry. The Old Town is just behind the hotel, and a variety of restaurants can be found within a half-mile radius. That said, food in the Old Town tends to be pricier and somewhat touristy. For a better culinary experience, I recommend venturing outside the Old Town—we had one of the best pizzas ever at La Ponsiería, a hidden gem that’s worth the detour.||Final Verdict – Functional, Not Leisure-Oriented||If your primary goal is a seamless ferry departure, Alameda Hostal Boutique is a practical choice. However, for a more relaxed and comfortable stay, particularly if your schedule allows flexibility, opting for accommodations near the beach would provide a more enjoyable and scenic experience. The combination of parking hassles, compact rooms, and an average check-in experience makes this hotel more suited for transit stays rather than a leisure escape.

A wonderfully surprising Hotel with beautifully comfortable rooms and good views. It’s called a hostel because it doesn’t have a lift? Around 4 star but actually only 2 star award. Reception is friendly and punctual. Memory foam beds and pillows, great shower and plenty of room. No complaints at all. Next door is a great bar (Thsts NEC asnd x Mario who works at the bar ) and an Italian restaurant fifty feet away but restaurant not very varied and limited on choice. No pizza, fish and pasta only but very nice nonetheless. You can park across the road in the FDS ferry port for €17.00 the night and all next day for the crossing to Tangiers, Morocco. With a 1 minute walk to the ship. Very safe and friendly place with an incredible castle. Hotel is excellent. Cost was around €105 in April for two adults and one 13 yr old child.

We booked a double room with a terrace, reasonable price, room was well decorated and spotlessly clean. The little terrace area was nice to sit in and watch people wandering the street below. The hotel location is perfect, right next to the port and on the main avenue with lots of restaurants in the old town nearby. We were doing a day trip to Tangier and this hotel was perfect in every way. Only downside is that parking in Tarifa is a bit of a nightmare.

We were looking for a hotel close to the ferry to Tangier and this hotel seemed a good bet. Indeed it was literally a half block from the ferry entrance so perfect location for that as well as the cute shops, restaurants and sights that make up the small town of Tarifa. Check in was routine, our room was located a short walk from the main entrance in another attached building with its own door. Room was basic, clean and a good value for our purposes. This is a plain place with all the basics but an ideal location if you are staging for a visit over to Tarifa.

Nice hotel spread across 2 buildings. The main building with reception does not have a lift but other one does.|Rooms were nicely decorated, fresh looking and comfortable. Not overly big room but ok.|Walls are thin and you can hear your neighbours and street noise. |Walking distance to many places and conveniently located if catching a ferry to Morocco.

Awesome place to stay! We stayed two nights for a short honeymoon trip to Tarifa. Perfect location to use the Ferries at the Port for a day trip to Morocco. Rooms were extremely affordable and the row of restaurants right down below are awesome to eat at!

I really appreciated the rooms, they smelled really good everyday and they were really clean. the location is also great, close to the beach and the old town. What I also liked was that we could connect the screen to our own computer (we brought an hdmi cable) to watch a movie. the staff was smiley and agreeable. overall a great experience there!
