Hostal Albergue Lucus

We'd been walking the camino for a few weeks and needed a rest. This was a perfect place. Clean, quiet, inexpensive, simple with a great location. The historic center is only 5-7 minutes walk. Very close to a laundromat (150 meters). It is located in an apartment building and feels like your own personal rooms. There is no lobby, common area, laundry, so you don't know your neighbors very well.

This was my rest day on the Primitivo - 2 nights at Lucus. The room was bright, clean, tidy and a very reasonable price. Maria the host is absolutely exceptional. She organised a room for a friend who arrived in town late, and helped me arrange my accomodation for the rest of my journey by calling albergues, as my Spanish is not that good. I cannot speak highly enough of her 😊

We felt like we gained a mom for two nights! Maria Jose took the elevator down to retrieve us, upon our nighttime arrival from the bus station. And let us stay an extra night. So awesome. AMAZING customer service. I just wanted to put her in my pocket and take her with us! The only downside of our particular room was the noise from the street. But we are traveling with earplugs and lucked out. I liked the location. Go to Cafe Lamela! Take a left out the door and take an immediate right to go uphill. On the way to the one on the map called "Tabu". Cafe Lamela will be on your right. Gluten free toast! Amazing sangria!!

Hostal Lucus seems to be a newer hostal that was converted from an apartment that was nice for my overnight stay in Lugo. Because it is in an apartment building, there is no large sign, so it took careful attention to find it. But one inside, it was welcoming, very clean and comfortable. There is no reception desk, but I was given keys to the front doors (building and apartment) along with my room key so coming in late was not an issue.||||I had a room with large windows similar to the hostal's photos. Bright and sunny during the day, it was a slight hassle at night to lower the roller shade for darkness. I had booked a room with private bath, but found that the private bath was reached by going down the hallway, and not a direct connection to the room. The room seemed very quiet during my stay.||||The location is a bit out of the center. About a 20 minute walk from the train station and under 10 minutes to the city walls.

I came across this hostal when I was looking for cheap accom in lugo. It's new so I barely found any info... it was such anice surprise! My single room was nicely decorated, cosy, clean and even had a tv! It has quite a homely feel.||The hostel is only around 5 minutes walk from the bus station. The signage is quite small as it's in a large apartment block - just look for the blue/green plaque on the wall to the right of the doors (the building is directly on the corner).||The lovely lady that checked me in spoke no english but it wasn't a problem.||I would highly recommend!

Very nice place. The people hosting the hostal is really nice and will make their best for you to have a superb stay. The place is clean, nice showers, comfortable beds and really well located just few minutes from the wall and the centre with all the amenities just seconds from the place door !

Super friendly reception - gave me (a solo motorcyclist) some fab tips for places to visit and foods to try in restaurants all around Galicia. Rooms were much more than basic and clean, and were a delight to stay in.

I found this place for only 35 Euro a night. I stayed for one night while visiting the town of Lugo. My room big bright and offered a view of the street below. In just a 10-minute walk you are in the walled city. This is a simple hostal not a big hotel but for what it is it is a five-star.
