Hostal Amador Familiar

Great value if you’re traveling on a budget. Friendly staff, decent room (keep in mind it’s less than 40$ a night!), clean enough for me. Water in the shower is warm, a/c works. Breakfast options available, ask the receptionist.

Came in to breathe a different air from my current neighborhood and the experience here at Hostal Amador Family was pleasant. I booked through their website with ease. The female dormitory and bathroom was neat, clean and with cool AC and hot water for the shower. The kitchen was clean and welcoming. Plenty of refrigerators to store food if you want to cook on premises. The atmosphere is chill with a few hammocks to enjoy in their backyard as well. The area is a bit noisy outside do to ongoing traffic but once indoors, the noise level is barely there. Ms. Elizabeth and the rest of the fam are very easy going, welcoming and respectful. I'm sure to return if time permits while I live in Panama. The location is perfect for different outings and there is ample transportation around.

Colombian Hosts were knowledgeable and welcoming. Close to Albrook airport. This will be my go-to place on my way to Boca's del Toro from now on. Hot water shower, ice cold air, tv, comfy beds and top quality hotel towels.

Thus was a good place to stay while in town. The rooms were spacious and clean with good air conditioning. The only difficulty was getting to my room on the 3rd floor with heavy luggage. It is also an old building, so you can hear other people easily and the hot water is not constant and the water pressure is not great. However, if you are prepared for a hostal, the staff is very friendly and helpful and the common areas are great for hanging out. There are refrigerators to use and a kitchen area out back.

Great accommodation for reasonable price in Panama City. The staff is super friendly and helping. We have booked room on for our first day in Panama and our last day. Young guy said they also offer transfers to San Blas, which is definitely a must go :) In the neighbourhood there is also supermarket;)

My husband, 12-year old son and I spent 8 nights at Amador Familiar. We had a spacious room with 3 twin beds. The bathroom wasn't large but worked well and was very clean. We were traveling with a church group and it was a great place to relax at the end of the day. We got together each evening in the open-air kitchen/dining room to talk about our day. That was my favorite area of the hostal because we could eat, plan our next day, watch the birds, and enjoy the cute lamb playing in the yard all at the same time. We walked and explored the area and it's only a 5-10 minute walk to a couple of restaurants. The facility is well-kept and clean and the huge thermos of cold water was a nice touch so we could fill our water bottles. The owners and staff were great! They made us feel like part of their family and were patient with me when I tried to speak a little Spanish. We hope to stay at the Hostal Amador Familiar on our next trip to Panama.

This accommodation is simply the best. We had an accident and then went to the Hostel Amador. When we arrived and the owners saw the wounds, we were immediately doctored by them and they took care of us. Not just a band-aid, but disinfection, healing ointment and bandages. The complete program. Unbelievable how helpful you are there. No matter what it is, they are always there with friendly support. The rooms are absolutely clean, the bed very comfortable and the air conditioning works great.

My experience was beyond my imagination. I was born in the Canal Zone and lived in Balboa . My stayed in La Casita Roja brought many childhood memories. The staffs were great and went beyond their duty. The young couples at the desk from Colombia are terrific and enjoyable. They answer any questions you had and always there to help. You have a great place and no complaint in rooms very clean and very colorful. Breakfast and coffee was great but which they had empanadas y tortillas. Great location to go anywhere from the Hostal Amador. Coming back Sept 1,2019 to stay 30 or more days. Excellent Service , y muchos saludos a Janet y su esposo y la se-nora de Costa Rica.
