Hostal & Cabañas Don Juan

Good rooms, stuff, kitchen and atmosphere.

I just stopped here to spend the night, there's wifi and rooms have private bathrooms, I mention this since many hostels have shared bathrooms, there's also parking. The room had clean sheets, and that's it, you got most of the things that you need, plus a very kind staff. There's no included breakfast, but you can use the kitchen, refrigerator, and dining room any time of the day to either heat or prepare your meal.

Nice and clean hostel with a calm athmosphere. For travelers that are not necessarily seeking company by other travelers, does not have much of a hang-out vibe. Beds and bathroom are very nice and breakfast is simple but good! Would definitely recommend.

During a trip through the country we dropped by at 1:30 ish am without any prebooking etc and the service was amazing and the prices very cheap ... the rooms are fine and the area inside the hostal are just wonderful ... 30000 pesos for a double room is just wonderful. The place is might not Ritz with 5 stars but considering the price paid is like a hotdog it's just amazing ...

We began our stay in Chile from Villarrica and were in this hostel for 3 nights. The location is perfect in the center of town, the rooms are very clean and nice .There is a big, clean and well organized common kitchen for everyone' use. And we had a lot of good travel explanations from the teem.

Maybe it was all a "series of unfortunate events", but we simply didn't enjoy our time at this place. The room was small, cramped and didn't have a proper shower. Generally the place is quite old-fashioned. But the most frustrating part was the staff, who either didn't know what services they were offering (i.e. tours, laundry), gave us false information or kept forgetting about things they promised to do (like turn off the heating in our room, which strangely enough we couldn't do ourselves). Sometimes we felt more in the way than welcome.

We arrived in Villarica late and this happened to be the first place we checked...and we didn't need to go any further. The rooms are nice enough - not fancy, not brand new, but fine for a couple days. We had the choice of a regular hotel room or something akin to a cabana (with kitchen, multiple rooms). We took the regular room.||||Its cheap, even considering the price of things in Chile. This was the 2nd cheapest place we stayed at in a month of traveling around Chile.||||The folks were quite nice, though only one spoke much English - they tried hard to communciate across cultural and language barriers.||||Note that its much bigger than it appears from the front - actually multiple buildings. They do have off-street parking, but once they tell you were it is, you may think are you staying/parking in a dump, but its just the way they build stuff there - there is graffitti and they nor anyone else around cleans it up. The front of the place looks clean, though. The rooms are clean, etc.||||Breakfast is extra (USD 5/person/day). We didn't partake of it, so can't comment.||||They gave a good recommendation for dinner nearby and helped in other ways.

Rooms were clean, quiet and had decent size bathroom. Mine had a jacuzzi bath.||||I think there were lockers in the breakfast room for those with their own food.||||Onsite parking.||||Watch out for the easily overexcited scrawny kitten.
