Hostal Antigua

We overall enjoyed our stay at Hostal Antigua. Check in was easy. We stayed in a single room with a private shower. It was very quiet. We also loved the rooftop to hangout and eat. The only downside was we found the bed quite uncomfortable.

Nice simple rooms, showers weren’t that great and it did get a bit damp in the room with the door closed. Location is good and it’s very quiet

basic hostal in great location in Antigua. Rooms were clean and basic. Included fans for the hot weather. Bathrooms functional and showers with hot water. Staff was very nice.

We didn't stay in this hostal but we booked two tours and one shuttle with them and were extremely satisfied with their service. The staff was always incredibly kind and helpful towards us. Also, both tours (Pacaya & Acatenango) as well as the shuttle (to Panajachel) were well organised and left on time :)

Got here yesterday. I had a car accident haven’t slept, haven’t eaten anything buy peanuts. I asked for help. Asked for a doctor. Lots of laughs. Thank got I found food quickly because my BP was nothing. Later, I finally fell asleep and caught the guy from the from sneaking g into my room. Asked him for help with WIFI so I could find a safe hotel. He said no. These people, ohhh and the room is a total rip off!

Very friendly staff, we stayed for three nights and found the place to be super clean. We returned for another night after the hike!

Perfect hotel maybe a bit dated bathroom wise ,,,||Staff absolutely lovely not one complaint||The barmen were so friendly and smiley xx

WHAT TO EXPECT? Central Antigua hostel in great location but with very basic room facilities. POSITIVES- Great location in centre of Antigua close to central park, arch and restaurants. Upper floor terrace with seating and kitchen. Water and WiFi available. We arrived before check-in and they let us store our bags and go out. Medium sized locker for a small backpack / valuables but not full bags. Reasonably cheap. NEGATIVES- Dorm of 10 people felt quite crowded and not much space to put your stuff. 1 male and 1 female bathroom/shower in the room meaning often a wait to use facilities. Ceiling fans next to the lights just made it feel like the light was strobing and quite stuffy. Dorm room isn't locked so anyone can get in and out. Wooden bunkbeds were pretty shaky and unsteady getting up and down.
