Exemplary customer service by Carmen - from our arrival to beyond our departure. The WhatsApp communication too was superb, even providing information on what to see and do. The room had everything you could think of: - well lit with a bright central light and individual bedside lights with dimmer function - a wardrobe - a wall mounted TV - a window with shutters - which blocked out all the light when closed (something I always hope for). - a great shower with hot water, good pressure and a wall mounted shower holder. - towel hooks exactly where needed in the bathroom - a very good hairdryer - towels and a bathmat - a kettle and large mugs - a fridge with a large bottle of water and some chocolates. The bed was very comfortable with a good mattress and duvet. Overall it was quiet though there was some very occasional noise from other guests in the corridor, something typical of most accommodation in Spain whether it is 1 star or 4 star. Hostal Arteaga is centrally located and perfect to access all the sights of Granada as well as the Moroccan area and lots of bars, restaurants, cafes, shops etc. There is an excellent discounted parking arrangement with an underground car park 10 minutes walk away. Our room was nice and warm in December - a perfect temperature both in the room and bathroom. Along with the fantastic professionally run hammam and massage, this is a wonderful option for Granada.

My wife was given a gift to use the hammam here so we decided to stay in the hostel. The hostel is in a great central location and as long as you clearly follow the good instructions it is no problem with the one-way system. Carmen on reception is fabulous and multitasking. If required you can park in the unground car park for €10 per day (€24 normally) you need to collect the discount card from the hostel. The hostel is perfect for us. There is a lift, the room was comfortable and clean with ensuite and a small television. There is a kettle and nice big mugs. It was nice and warm (December) it was mostly quiet. We felt secure as reception is open from 8am to 11pm and you are given three keys to access out of hours. The hostel has the hammam in the same building and it is fantastic. Walking in to the centre of Granada is quick and easy.

Ok -lets start with what might put you off staying here...|1. No restaurant or catering facilities (but plenty of bars, pastelerías, restaurants etc within 5 mins walk).|2.A bit old fashioned decor - not a modern stylish hotel etc etc||Now the reasons why you really should put this place top of your list;|1. Fantastic staff - couldn't be more helpful, friendly and professional. Not in the cold, almost aloof way of 'top' hotels, but in a human, personable manner. Nothing is too much trouble; they anticipate requirements, explain everything really well, are very knowlegeable about Granada and are happy, smiley, friendly people.|2. The rooms are perfectly clean and well appointed in terms of toiletries, kettle etc (often not provided at more than twice the price )|3. Excellent location, just off the Gran Via - it couldn't be better|3. Phenomenal value|This little, unassuming hotel is, in our opinion, the best place to stay in this wonderful city of Granada. We have tried quite a few, but never stayed a second time - until now!

Great place to stay. Clean and well maintained. The staff and owners are extremely friendly and helpful. The rooms have private bathrooms and air conditioning. I've never stayed in a hostel and was skeptical at first, but after staying here my scepticism is gone. I stayed on the first floor and had zero issues with noise and the window was on the street side. Connected directly to a bath house. Great location near everything. Sites and restaurants are abundant. Will definitely stay again should I come back to Granada. Rooms came with towels, soaps, water, and a refrigerator. Absolutely wonderful experience.

Great hostel, especially for mature single female travelers. Felt very safe and welcome at all times. Carmen at the front desk gives excellent guidance on what to see and do. Her recommendations were on point! Rooms very clean. Beds comfy. Even had my towels folded into swans, with chocolates on them upon arrival, as well as a free bottle of water in the mini-fridge. How nice! Now - about the parking. Oh my, it's a bit intense but totally doable if you are driving. The hostel has a deal with a nearby parking lot. It's a great deal at 10 euros per day, and I definitely recommend using it, but there are some things you need to know. As of May 2024, the parking location is Triunfo APK2. The process for getting to parking is that you navigate to the hostel, stop in the street for a minute (blocking any other traffic that might come by) and run in to drop off luggage and get parking instructions. Then you navigate to the underground parking, find a spot, and walk back to the hostel. It is a very looong parking garage and you have to know which section and which entry door to use so that you can find your way back. Not all of the sections connect and it seems only section1 has a human manning the kiosk. That's not important when dropping off, but when picking up, to use the hotel voucher you have to go to the kiosk in section 1 and find a human to process your payment. You cannot pay via the automated machines or the app like all the signs you see tell you to do, because those will.chargebyou the much higher public rate. Be sure to.take a photo of the number of the spot where you parked so the attendant can help you find your car if you get I to the wrong section of the garage. Again, this is totally doable and probably the best possible parking option. Just allow plenty of extra time to deal with the parking situation. The hostel itself is clean and comfortable and the staff are superb. Plus it's connected to the Elvira arab baths which are a nice experience and terrific way to end a big day of touring.

Terrific location. If you turn right Gran Via and the cathedral is just minutes away. Gran Via has lots of banks shops cafes and upmarket hotels and is very modern. To the left if the hostal is Calle Elvira which is more Moorish and has loads of small shops cafes bars restaurants and is only a few minutes from the Arabian quarter. The Baños Elvira is located downstairs and is very pleasant and great value and you get a discount if staying in the Arteaga Hostal. |Breakfast is served in the Cafe Alhambra a few minutes away on Gran Via. Just ask for a ticket at reception it's 3e.|Single room was small but big enough for me other rooms for more than 1 person looked bigger. There is lift access to the 1st 2 floors and stairs then to the 3rd floor. My room was in the centre of the building so no street noise and shaded so the room was always cool. Walls a bit thin so could hear other people coming back sometimes but overall quiet and comfortable. The room was cleaned every day so was spotless and the fridge in the room was terrific for storing drinks and snacks. The bathroom was very modern and very strong shower. Soap provided and plenty of towels.|Staff were very friendly especially Alvaro the night receptionist. Overall great location clean and great value.

Small spartan rooms with bed, airco, small fridge, TV and bathroom but first of all ver clean rooms and best of all super location 15 minutes to Alhambra including the uphill walk. 500 meters from the Cathedral and hence the city centre withs shops, bar and restaurants. Did I already mention the friendly and helpful staff? If on a budget I would recommend.
